Chapter 7
Zera
I watched Cassian fall to the ground in shock, turning to the man who had knocked him out I asked, "Who are you?" somewhat angered by this man's actions.
"I am an enforcer of the fourth legion." He answered in a plain, monotone voice. I raised an eyebrow and crossed my arms.
"So why am I not knocked out too?" I asked looking down at Cassian then back to the man.
"We might need you for a few things. We've been watching you since you were kidnapped." He answered and I stepped back in shock.
"This was the place I fell?'" I asked and he nodded in response. "What do you need me for?" I was full of questions, but right now I wasn't the one with power.
"To do what you do best." He answered and looked down at Cassian again before nodding. "Alright, but Cassian cannot know. Protect him and I'll do it." The man nodded. He was wearing a hood with a scarf that covered most of his face, so I could only see his eyes.
It seems though that this man knew about my training with the red suit before I became a banisher. The people I tormented and the one I killed just to get the position.
"You son of a bitch! I'll kill you for trying to take her, you understand!?" He had his knife in his hand already charging at the man. "You won't get away!"
I caught him by the arm and pulled him back to me, "Calm down Cassian." I harshly whispered and took his knife from him again. I looked to the man and nodded. Two other men in full black grabbed Cassian. He tried to get away from them, but they had a strong grip on him.
They led us to a white vehicle and I got in front with the main guy and Cassian got in the back with the other two.
"So who am I tormenting?" I asked looking to the man driving beside me.
"A man. He came in a few days ago, but he wasn't from the Dome and we can't get answers out of him. All we have is a name." The man handed me a device and I looked at it closely. I didn't recognize the blonde boy in the photo, but I could tell by the look in his eyes. He was trouble.
"What's your name?" I asked giving the device back to him and looking outside.
"The names Adrian." He answered still looking at the road in front of him.
"It seems the system lied to us, so how long ago was the radioactive explosion?" I knew he was gonna get annoyed with my questions, but I had to know.
"Thousands of years ago." That was his simple answer and I kept on staring outside. I couldn't believe it. They made us believe a lie that was twisted in such a way it ruined us in the process. I sighed. Cassian better not screw up. I'm afraid if the time comes I won't be able to kill him.
Cassian
"Who the hell are you!" I was so confused. This had literally gone from Zera being my only friend, to her betraying me with the snap of her fingers. I was so pissed, I felt like I wanted to kill them all. I can kill them all. At, any, moment.
"Who are you?" the man said from behind me. "Nobody you need to be concerned about, unless you hurt her or me. Then, well, then you can meet my fun side!" I'd been interrogated before. You never say anything useful, and you always go for the mental approach. "Why are you here?" he seemed very monotone. Interesting. "To live, why else, dumbass. Although I wouldn't mind killing somebody." I got a swift kick for that. "Where is the Dome?" now he was pissed. I laughed, "The Dome is gone, long gone, but I'm sure your little princess Zera told you that one. Also now I definitely, plan to kill you, because that really hurt."
I was kicked harder that time, and I also got slugged by a guy I hadn't seen before. They were really pissed now, and so was I. "You ever insult-" He was cut off by the guy behind me. "That's all we need from him. And he deserves to know nothing." There was something they didn't want me to know, and I was going to find out, and kill them in the process.
When I woke up, I found my cell wasn't an actual cell. It looked like a bedroom at the Dome. Clean bed, nightstand, even a bookshelf, filled with what looked like some propaganda books. I was surprised, but I still needed to escape. The walls were made of wood, easy to break, and there was no glass on the curtained windows. It's like they wanted me to leave. So I hopped through the window, ready to fight, and I couldn't believe my eyes. I was alone. I was, all, alone.
I made an important decision that day. I decided this, is where my home would be. I would hunt, build, eat, and sleep alone, so that I could never be able to hurt another human being. Besides I like the quiet, because when it's quiet, I can finally relax. And when I finally relaxed, I became a new person.
