"Suou!!!" You called out to him as one of the soldiers almost wounded him. You tackled him and used your thymia on a weapon to stab the soldier in the throat. You stood up and fought the soldiers until they backed off and retreated.

You helped Suou stand up. Taking his hand, you rushed into shelter with him. After a few more minutes of running, you finally reached a safe enough place with the windows boarded up. "Idiot! What were you thinking?! They would've killed you in a second!!"

He hesitated when he answered. "I.. I wanted to see you.."

Your expression softened. "Suou, that means a lot, but you can see me any time and I really doubt in the middle of a battle is the time to see me."

"I know that, but.. I don't want to see you dead in a casket the next time I decide to visit you because I.. because I love you!" He closed his eyes tightly, his hands together in order to keep his emotions at bay.

So he confessed, huh? "Suou, I'm gonna die sooner than you are. I wouldn't make you happy. After all, I'm marked. And marked people don't live longer than 30. I am so sorry, Suou.."

You left him to cry in silence, and to go to the battle. He didn't even realized you left.

You had died, in battle. However, you left a note for Suou on his desk first. After the funeral, Suou found the note.

Dear Suou,

If you are reading this, it means that I am dead for whatever reason. That sucks. Anyways!! I prepared this note in advance of my death so you have something of me. I guess?? That sounds cheesy. What I want to say is that I love you, and stay alive for me, okay?

Suou wiped his eyes as he laughed quietly. Even after your death, you could still make him smile. Unknownst to him, you came back as a ghost and was snoring away on his desk. Whoops!
