Water Run

A/N: As usual, I would recommend putting video on loop.

Cool, comforting hands seemed to wash over her while her eyesight was somewhat compromised by the shimmery waters. They almost made her forget about her present plan; they nearly lulled her to sleep in their soft embrace. Tarhuinn was still as well, most likely undergoing a similar experience. Everything above the water almost faded away into a distant memory, but she could just barely spot Will's calves and feet. Those kept her mind from disappearing into dreamland.

He started to move, however, out of the enchanting waters. She darted her (e/c) eyes over to her husband, and he was already on the move but slower than usual. (F/n) could only move so fast herself. The invisible hands kept aching for her to come back. It was like someone forcing her out of an amazing dream; she didn't wish to leave, but she had to. Will, under no circumstances, would be allowed to escape.

Pushing the waters aside, she kept her mouth shut tight. She would drink some of the water when they returned home. If the effects of the waters were this strong outwardly, she didn't wish to discover their influence inwardly right now. Tarhuinn was a little ways ahead of her, but she knew that he wouldn't kill Will. He had made her a promise, and he would keep it.

Grabbing a hold of Will's left ankle, Tarhuinn tugged him under before he could exit the glimmering section. Her husband went to bite the mage's left shoulder, but Will managed to force him back. The water threw Tarhuinn back and forced her somewhat towards the tree. His green eyes looked her way. As quickly as she could, she swam in another direction. The water, however, shoved her towards him.

It didn't help that she needed to get some air. When she went to breach the surface, the water pushed her down. Was he going to force her to pass out? Cursing mentally, she wished that her body wasn't acting so relaxed about this situation. Will being a mage, it was probably easier to break out of the tree's effects. They needed to get him closer to the plant again.

That could only happen if she remained conscious. With her out, all of his attention would direct itself to her husband. No element of surprise would be permitted that way, which begged the question of where Tarhuinn had gone. Even with her poor perspective, she had been able to see him before. Now, she couldn't even spot an outline.

When the water's hold on her broke, she burst up for air. She caught sight of Will being pulled under again. Regaining herself, she noticed that both Will and Tarhuinn were zipping through the water. They both left the shimmery parts of it and went flying quite some distance away. Tarhuinn slammed against a rock to her left, but he started to recover almost immediately after the impact. Will, on the other hand, stood to his feet to the right of her. Water formed around his feet in the shape of shoes while he tested some of his wind magic in his hands.

A satisfied grin overtook his lips. "Now, things will be how they should be." Wind shot from his hands, and water rose into large, charging waves. Tarhuinn dived into the water and disappeared while she did the same. Unluckily, the waves were much stronger on her side.

Tarhuinn hadn't been able to reach her in time. Even under water, she was tossed back. She rolled through the water and slammed against the trunk of the tree. Her breath was lost, but she didn't feel much pain. Thankfully, her wrist didn't return to its previous damaged state, but it had almost collided with the tree.

Leaves fell from the branches and drifted off in the water around her. Using her left hand, she pushed herself up against the tree and coughed up some of the non-glimmering water. She wiped her mouth and noticed that Will was keeping his distance. Tarhuinn was still gone from sight. Will pushed water back to try and find him, but she knew that he would attack her again soon. That disgusting smile of his said so.

Somehow she needed to get close to him and get her hands on a weapon. Since he wasn't doing anything else yet, she searched the room for something. His violent treatment of the water had caused some of the rocks from the walls to break off. If she was lucky, she would find one that was sharp, but searching might take too long, and Will would most likely find her before then.

Glancing up to the tree, she looked over the branches. The points of some of them were rather sharp, and the branches themselves looked sturdy. She could possibly fight with one, but she would wait until Tarhuinn's next attack to break one off. Water snatched her ankles once more. Her back slid down the tree before water took over her form.

Instantly, she threw out her arms and gripped the trunk. Her fingers dug into it. They scraped across, and skin broke. Crimson weakened her hold, but she refused to let go. She was tempted to call out for Tarhuinn to strike him already. Desperately, she required a distraction. Where was he?!

Violently, the water tore her from the tree. A scream of frustration left her, but it was barely audible as the tree soothed her once more. Across the surface of the water, she slid. Her eyes widened, though, in the next moment. Tarhuinn leaped straight out of the water and took Will's left hand in his mouth. Due to the speed of his ascent, the kelremm removed the mage's hand. It was Will's turn to cry out in absolute agony.

Released, she swam back towards the tree. Before she turned completely, she saw Tarhuinn spit the hand out and come back down on the mage. Still in shock from the loss, Will didn't block in time. The kelremm slammed against the mage. Both went under, giving her some time.

Making it back to the tree, she brought herself to her feet. She grasped the closest and strongest looking branch. Her fingers weren't healed, but they were being soothed during her action. (F/n) tugged downwards, but the branch wouldn't budge. So, she jumped up, grabbed it and pulled. This didn't work either. No matter what she tried, nothing resulted in success. Her eyes looked to the point again, and she confirmed once more that it was fatal enough. If she couldn't bring the branch to Will, he would come to it.

Scanning the water for the two males, she spotted them close to the entrance of the cave. Tarhuinn shot up into the air, but he twirled himself around so that his feet would hit the ceiling. He pushed himself off and flew back towards the mage. Will smirked and lifted his only hand.

"Will! Did I ever tell you that I saw Patricia in my old village?!" Of course, this had been a lie, but the question worked. He turned to look at her, but his locked gaze with hers was short-lived. Water enveloped both males once more. Immediately, Tarhuinn was sent back down the tunnel leading to the room. Will rose up from the water, and a glare covered his expression. To her surprise, there was no insanity in his intense stare; only anger and hope resided there.

The mage probably understood that she was lying, but there was a shred of hope there. He didn't know every detail of her background. Even though he had seen Patricia die, they were in a room with a tree that extended one's life indefinitely. There existed the smallest of possibilities that she was still alive. She kept her expression neutral and allowed the tree's effects to calm her completely. He needed to come closer.

His left wrist rose before he dropped it again. Skin had been pulled over the once exposed innards of his wrist. Raising his right hand, he flicked his middle and index fingers. Her feet were pulled out from under her. Tarhuinn was coming up from behind, but Will kicked his left foot back. The kelremm's movement halted while a wall of water blocked him off.

(F/n) reached the mage. He grabbed her shirt and lifted her up. In an instant, he hardened the water wall and slammed her up against it. A cry left her as they were some distance from the tree. "What do you mean? You were just lying to me, weren't you? I never told you her description! How could you have known her?!"

Keeping up the fabrication, she answered, "She told me her name was Patricia; she was incredibly nice. She said how she missed a good friend of hers but couldn't return to him. She stated that she was thought dead." Her hands circled around his wrist to try and get him to loosen his hold on her.

"What did she look like?" His voice grew calmer, but his tone remained threatening.

"She had red, short hair and light brown eyes. She stated that she had her appearance changed as a precaution." Amusement crossed his expression, and she understood that she had made a mistake in describing her, but she could only keep the act up for so long. After all, it had been meant only as a distraction. Otherwise, Tarhuinn would probably be dead now.

"I knew that she was dead. Her eyes were a dark blue, and she wouldn't have gone through the trouble of changing them. The hair I can believe but nothing else. Besides, she knew how much I loved her eyes. She wouldn't have changed them no matter the situation." Insanity washed over him, and he began to laugh. "I think that it's time." He slammed her harshly against the wall before he dropped her.

Vision became incredibly blurry, and she could hear Tarhuinn banging against the wall. The back of her shirt was grabbed, and Will dragged her through the water to the tree. "We'll be having a lot of fun shortly, Bluebell. And, I'll even add something extra in for your lovely invention of that falsification."
