Chanyeol can hear that blood curdling scream reverberate all the way through his mate link, a pain that feels so real he can barely breathe. He so desperately wants to howl out a cry to arms across to every available member of his pack. His mate needs him yet the image before him, has his heart equally breaking! He can feel the evil seeping out of the muddy brown she wolf that stands at the front of a group of 20 other wolves. Wolves that are currently engaged with a stare off with his father, and only eight of of the strongest alphas and betas from his and Sehun's combined packs. The archers standing atop the white stone walls don't ease his discomfort. Each of the wolves standing against his own pack carries the unmistakable stench of the winter clan, death and hatred!

His heart hammers under his pelt that the muddy wolf is not Yukio, Yukio's pelt is speckled much like a blood hound, fitting considering his deplorable attitude to everything the clans stand by. Not that Yukio knows it, it was the first thing any alpha or beta that is tasked with the protection of the clan learns. Yukio's less then ordinary pelt stands out in situations like this, and makes him an easy target. His heart sinks when scanning through the muted browns and blonde pelts that speckled pelt is nowhere to be seen.

Instant panic fills him at Yukio's absence, his whole being ripples in fear over the scream he heard into the link he shares with his precious star. He desperately try's to push to his link with Sehun to see what's happening and is instantly met with a block. Sehun only ever blocks his call when he is trying to concentrate! He could reach out to Yixing, as supreme alpha all wolves are obliged to answer his call, alerting an already stressed father will be disastrous. Digging his claws deeper in to the earth, at the sheet rage coursing through his veins like an avalanche, that camp he found was not as abandoned as he believed. His wish to keep Baekhyun comfortable before the onslaught of his heat by camping out for the night may of well of cost his clan in more ways then one!

He can't even command the young alphas with him to take their place beside his father! It will give away their position within the tree line, and could place his father in a dangerous position. The only saving grace is that Yixing still seems to be calm, he's not a fool to believe that nothing is amiss and Baekhyun is just simply screaming in pain over his heat. His heart screams at him to turn back, yet a part of him wants to move forward to aid his father.

My son, you have to believe in yourself for your mate. You are the strongest of our kind, our clan is prosperous and where we are now because of you! Trust me I will handle Blanca, she wouldn't dare try to breach the gates- the omegas who can not fight are already heading to the caves below the healing house, the pups too! Go bring your mate to the safety of our walls where our mighty clan family will protect him!

Father! I fear I have walked us into a trap, i have failed as Supreme Alpha to keep our clan safe from a spy. To make it worse I have failed my unclaimed mate, I left him in the throes of his heat! Father his scream broke through the link I had severed so as not to succumb to my instincts.

Chanyeol my son, I know you fear how your instincts will over power your unclaimed mate. Your wolf is powerfull and unyielding and is what's needed in a time like this. You and your wolf are one and both love your mate, I know your scared your wolf will over power Baekhyun and demand mating but he won't if his life is on the line. Your wolf is a part of you, embrace his power and there is nothing you can't do.

Chanyeol goes to mentally thank his father, but is cut of by the loud and imposing growl the 21 imposter wolves emit into the air. He knows it's a tactic to wind up their opponents, should his father make the first move and loose the winter clan can request compensation something the elders would not be able to deny. He already knows what Blanca wants, she wants to be his mate! Something even the elders cannot grant. Baekhyun is more then his mate, that beautiful delicate creature is his soulmate, once fully mated they will share a bond that reaches far beyond a mate link. Chanyeol struggles to keep his gasp within him, the camp he found may of been abandoned but those who made it never left! A flash of his precious stars blue hair as they declared their love for each other under the moon, fills his vision. Yukio must of been there last night! Its only explanation for Yukio's absence in front of his father now. The winter clan abhor blue omegas, and he has foolishly left his unclaimed blue omega mate with just one alpha and an injured beta!

He can't describe the feelings within, something potent and deadly like nothing else he has felt fills his veins. It's something more then adrenaline, this power it's the strength of his need to support his unclaimed mate. His need to protect and be close to his precious star has him moving back through the trees like lightning. His father will command Kai and Tao to remain in the tree line, a move that will allow the two alpha to ambush the winter clan should they put a toe out of line! The second set of paws hitting the ground he knows will belong to Yixing, he knows Yinxing will not be a threat to his son. His mate is also with their son, who he hopes has finally sent out his own distress call. The extra set of sharp canines will come in handy, he has no idea what will be awaiting them, as his link to Sehun remains stubbornly shut. The pain and confusion he can feel pulsing through his conscious snaps the last shred of control, the rippling of muscles under his pelt is all the warning he is giving as he pounds through the forest like a wolf possessed!

Baekhyun's POV
Baekhyun can feel the tears building in his eyes from his spot sprawled on the forest floor! Everything happened so fast, One moment he was trying not to throw up all over the pelt of Sehun, and then before he could do more then scream a large grey blur had slammed into them sending both himself and Sehun flying across the forest floor! The force of the slam was so hard he landed at the base of a tree, he's pretty sure he's going to be black and blue tomorrow. Baekhyun can only whimper softly his arms wrapped around his himself, nor can he think of the debilitating pain right now! His mother, Jongdae and Sehun stand protectively in front of him, Sehun standing slightly ahead of Jongdae and his mother. All of them stand like a barrier of hard muscle as they all stand in their wolf form. He can only look on in fear, as his mother growls low in his throat a warning towards the four wolves they face off. He can hear his heartbeat in his ears at the face off, three against four can not end in their favour.

He can tell the wolves are not alphas, they are all definitely smaller then Sehun and Chanyeol, but they are beta's! His mother is an omega, he can only whimper and pray to the gods that the possibility that he will be ripped to shreds will never arise! He raises his eyes to the true threat, a tall man that's dressed all in black that scares him the most. It's obvious he's trying to be something he is not, Baekhyun would be lying if he didn't acknowledge that this stranger is just as beautiful as his alpha, but he exudes something sinister and ugly. This man with his deep yellow eyes and greying hair, certainly should be taken seriously! They may be animals at times, but this stranger before him, Baekhyun can sense this wolf downright dangerous and feral! The smell that he emits makes him want to be sick all over again, there's a strong smell of death coming from him. What surprises him and has him shaking is the underlying arousal he can smell in the air, it so potent band unwanted all he wants to do is cower away. That not so hidden intent makes him want to have a very long hot bath with some stripping cleaner, something that will strip his skin of that smell.

"Well I must say up close your beauty surpasses any wolf I have come across little peach. Your so young, so rare and ripe for picking little peach! Imagine the elders surprise when they discover I have claimed the only blue omega!"

Baekhyun whimpers as the growls of his family turn into roars, his own wolf too growls into his mind! He's never been spoken to so brazenly before! His skin itches at the clear insinuating message this stranger is saying. Baekhyun pulls his cloak closer, in effort to hide himself as those yellow eyes rake over his figure. He so desperately hopes Chanyeol can hear the this, as he push's at the blocked link they share, he needs Chanyeol so he can guide him on what to do. He feels so vulnerable under that cold stare, those eyes scream maniac especially with that sinister smile this man wears. His heartbeat increases at silence in their link, he can't sense his alphas presence, something he so desperately wants to feel right now. He needs to know his true love is on his way, and what he can do to stall the fight he is sure is going to erupt with each disgusting word this man spills from his tongue.

"Ah where are my manners, my name is Yukio Winter, head of the winter clan and you little peach have surprised us all! Your kind is supposed to be extinct, but here you stand ripe for the plucking."

Baekhyun can only watch in horror as the four wolves that stand against his family, howl into the air! Baekhyun's breath gets stuck in his throat as each one lowers into a pose even he would recognise, a strike pose. He dare not take his eyes off any of those wolves, they may not be alpha males, but the power he can see in those muscles can not be ignored. He's never been on a battlefield, never seen any one need to defend the walls of the temple. Even as a young pup his father never let him sit in on the training, he always believed it was because he was an omega and the son of the head priest not because he is something so rare and coveted. It's true he had no interest in learning how to fight, now he knows it was all down to just how special he is, had anyone discovered him it be game over. Doesn't stop him wishing he had been taught the bare minimum so he can help right now. The way his wolf snorts, tells him how much he agrees, he would change forms as his wolf is the stronger and faster force.

What he doesn't understand that aside from the growling and roars, Sehun hasn't so much as flinched, he has remained standing where he is. On one the side Baekhyun wants to scream at him to do something, on the other hand the statuesque way he stands screams total control. Baekhyun sees it now, Sehun's resolve to not waiver to the way the winter clan wolves want seems make them vibrate in agitation! Sehun hasn't so much as flinched only growled a clear warning, he trusts Sehun will keep all of them safe. Even this Yukio seems to growl in annoyance at the way Sehun refuses to more then growl and how his pack can't control themselves. Baekhyun how ever truly shudders when he notices Yukio brazenly he licks his lips as he holds his stare! He wills himself not to shudder as those eyes once again rake over his own much smaller frame.

"Little peach i can't wait to taste you, I know you will taste as good as you smell!

The howls those four dirty wolves release is unlike anything he as ever heard. He pushes once again into his link the echo of his mate is there, as his father but even in his distress their links remains stubbornly shut. What's worse is he can feel that the heat on his skin intensify, the tea Jongdae gave him is starting to wear off! He can feel that fire low in his back too, he can feel how tears are silently falling. He's so overwhelmed by the lack of response from his mate, the cloying scent of rotten flesh mixed with that unwanted arousal surrounds him like a bad smell makes him fall back against the trunk he was flung against. His wolf too is even whimpering in pain and confusion, the confusion lessons the moment he feels the presence of his mother in their link.

my moon child, I know your confused! I promise help is on the way, before it gets here you need to remain calm

Mother I can't reach Chanyeol, why can't I reach him!

You can't reach him because of your heat my darling, remember he blocked it so as not feel your pain. I know this is different and Chanyeol I promise is coming. He will know something is wrong, but before he does I need you to do something for me.

I can't change into my wolf form mother, it's too open I feel too exposed

I'm not asking you to change yet, what you need to do is run when I give you the signal! I will turn my head and I need you to run north, do not story follow the river when you get far enough away morph into your wolf and follow Chanyeol's scent!

What about you, Jongdae and Sehun? I don't want to leave you!

You are at risk the longer you stay here, Yukio is not like the wolves I know of the winter clan. My moon child you would not still be standing, if he was. Yukio wants something far more then your life, I think he wants to claim you.

I would rather die then be claimed by a wolf like that, I've fallen for Chanyeol we are soul mates mother!

I know my moon child, that why you need to run, I will give you the signal you need. You must run do not stop or look back until you are far from here!

Baekhyun can say nothing more as his mother retreats from their link, hai mother is right he has to trust Chanyeol knows what is going on and is on the way! The sharp intake of breath snaps him out of daydreaming of his alpha, he can only watch in horror as Yukio starts to sniff the air and pure before his evil yellow eyes lock into his own.

"Your in heat, you really are ripe for the plucking, oh this is too good to be true! Your here almost alone, without a claiming mark! Something I plan to change right now!"

Baekhyun eyes widen in pure horror, he can't be claimed before the height of his heat, not that he wants to be heated by someone he knows doesn't love him. Whatever else he wants to think he can't, as everything explodes around him. Sehun is the first to launch his attack it's aimed at the beta wolf who tries to crawl forward, a second beta growls before pouncing towards Jongdae! Its nothing but a sea of fur as whines and snapping teeth are all he can hear! A bark is heard to the left, one his mother used as warning when he was still a pup, Baekhyun sees his mother quickly flick of his snout in the direction he should be running. He can't move though as his own wolf growls into his mind, as he watches a third wolf try and fail to smash his paw across his mothers face!

He's frozen to the forest floor as he watches his mother, use a strength he never knew his mother could possess. He knows he needs to move and fast, it's been seconds since Yukio's statement, seconds that he could spend trying to get as far away as he can. He catches that musty smell of death on the air, this time it's even stronger! It's like a domino effect as he turns slightly to the left to find a large speckled wolf where Yukio was once standing! Shivers pour down his spine at the way the wolf stands, his chest is exhaling more then he should, and those yellow eyes are almost eclipsed by the enlarged black irises! The winter clan wolf howls again silencing not only the snapping of teeth, but every other sound of the forest.

The force of the pheromones suddenly filling the area, invades his nostrils almost forcing him to submit and to his horror he can feel himself starting to slicken. No no no, this isn't what should happen, he should do this only for his one true mate! He dare not turn his head to seek the comfort of his mother, his mother needs to concentrate, willing his body to stop what ever it's doing, causes excruciating fire up the back of legs and back. He can feel the fever of his heat rising within him, the pain stopping him from turning and doing as his mother asked!

That millisecond of silence ends when the fourth wolf takes everyone by surprise. No one had noticed the sand coloured wolf had silently belly crawled across the forest to stand in front of him. Before he can scream he's feels two paws on his shoulders effectively pushing him down on to all fours, two paws clamp over his wrists keeping him in place. He can feel the tears in his eyes, again it's really happening he's going to be forced to accept a claim that he doesn't want, he so wishes he paid attention ruin to what would happen to him if he is claimed before his heat! He knows it could stop him having pups as it's an unwanted claim, he's positive it will causes so much more too! He can't help but choke out on those disgusting pheromones as he struggles in this evil looking wolfs hold. He tries to change into his wolf form, but he is in too much pain to concentrate on the bond with his wolf to force his body to move The sound of leaves crunching under Yukio's paws reignites the chaos around them, as the arousal fills the air!

It dawns on him then, he's not just going to be claimed, Yukio is going to mount him! He's going to be mounted and claimed, an act that will force his true soulmate to reject him as a mate. He will not be that wolf, he will not succumb to this feral alpha, he belongs with Chanyeol. He pulls with all his might against the paws holding him not caring that he can feel his right shoulder dislocating. Just as a rush of comforting pheromones fills his conscience, all before a large black blur slams into the wolf pinning him to the ground! He watches as his alpha traps the wolf holding him down in his muzzle, before shaking him so hard he snaps the wolves neck!

Before the black wolf turns his attention to the speckled wolf, Baekhyun understands why his alpha has remains silent in their link all this time, the wolf standing before him is the same Chanyeol he loves, but isn't at the same time. His aura pulses with something so much stronger, something so much more potent, this wolf is not the alpha he's fallen for! This strong mighty Wolf before him is the mighty Supreme Alpha. Who stands protectively over him, with the wrath of the gods in his eyes!

What a jam packed update that was, eeek! Let me tell you this has been a beast to write? I've redone sections at least twice and cried over parts that just didn't flow.

Don't panic I'm actually really pleased with the end result. I'm sure many will be angry that Chanyeol didn't make an appearance sooner, I hope I have explained that whilst he is one with his wolf, some situations call for his much stronger wolf to essentially take over. Let's just say he gets a bit of tunnel vision for now but I will explain more in part two and include a bit more of the chanbeak we all love.
