𝙲𝙷𝙰𝙿𝚃𝙴𝚁 TEN : THE GIFTED ONES
NATHI POV
I had a long talk with my and true to his secretive nature, he didn't believe I had had a right to know our people's history of the history of the world's origin.
he told me that one upon a time the world was one and then it split. Each split had lived and developed independently, this created a new order, an order that to him should be respected. To him the foreigners were to be consider enemies as they disrespected. He had been planning to execute them immediately as they would set foot on our lands but didn't find the time when he had discovered that the Beqhwa people were visiting.
By some deities' luck I had managed to convince him against that and rather put them on trail instead, if anything of suspicion arises then by all means I would be the one to execute them. That trail was today
I was bathed by my servants in oils and fragrant plants, and then scrubbed with natural pumice stone. My upper body was left uncovered and I wore a knee length beaded skirt with beaded bracelets. My hair was left loose and uncrowned. I was then escorted to were the trial would be.
I arrived with my father waiting with his guard and a translator. I had stolen his notebook the other day and thank goodness he had not noticed before I had managed to return it. I sat next to him on my knees with head bowed. I was still below him as I had to show respect like everyone else.
"who is the leader amongst you " my father asked and the translator translated. The Senzo or Senza something stepped up in response to the question.
"why have you come to my lands" my father's voice boomed in a dangerous tone, I gulped
He spoke to the translator and the translator said "To save the ones gifted with gifts from the deity"
My father's expression dropped and his eyes became hollow. I too felt the fear that was within him. The gifted where people blessed with the ability to give life, to heal , to make things grown and to control natural plants or talents. They play a great part in serving our society. They were given the duty by the deity herself to serve, without them our world would crumble and us non di-tee would suffer . To hear that they were in danger was more than alarming
"elaborate" my father commanded
"you see, our deity had disappeared many seasons ago, and our wielders had disappeared as well. Our world had fallen and we had to travel to warn the other continents of this tragedy. Our our Father Spirit had already disappeared and his disappearance and changed everything causing the drift in humanity ,it the deities go as well then I am sure that we we will be doomed and the monsters would be able to get and I don't need to tell you what would happen if that comes to pass..." the translator translated
I had to cover my mouth to prevent myself from gasping. Before the deity we had our Father Spirit , he created a barrier that would protect us from the monsters the dwell on the surface of our planet. When he disappeared we feared that the monsters would get in and plague us in total darkness by the deities came and took his place, they have this huge responsibility of keeping the barrier active so that is another reason we have di-tee as they take care the troubles on the ground. The Deities took turns or shifts in keeping the barrier active by having seasons. We have 5 seasons for 5 Deities and each season contains 2 months but now hearing that one Deity has disappeared this throws of the balance of that system . A season is lost which puts more strain on the other deities. One less protector to keep the barrier active and another opportunity for the monsters to take advantage to get in.
My heart was having a difficulty time in bearing the news. I could not bear to see the world coming to an end. I looked towards my father in hopes that he would see reason.
"If this is truth then we must find a way to prevent such an event. We cannot consult our deity as it is not her season to be awake so we are left to work together to find a solution" my father spoke and I sighed in relief that he was willing
When it is one deities' season the other sleep to regain their energy , how unfortunate for us that our season was 4 months away/ two seasons away.
"You are no longer seen as invaders but rather guest who will be treated right...uncuff them now and show them to the guest rooms for them to refresh and rest" my father smiled this time which was uncommon thing for him to do but I smiled as well
