NATHI POV
"The time is getting closer" he spoke with a heavy voice
"you mean...?" I questioned
"yes I mean that I will be stepping down as king" he answered
my father's words had mystified me, in the back of my head I had always believed that the only way I would get that damn throne was when my father would be no more. Today I was proven that need not to be necessary
"I am honored and extremely grateful for this responsibility that you believe that I am worthy of to carry . I know that this was not an easy decision but I assure it was a good decision"
"for my heart's sake ,I hope so"
My next sentence was interrupted when a spear was bang into the ground in front of the door. A guard was notifying us that he was there and he was asking permission to enter. My father permitted him entrance , he entered and bowed to both of us
"I hope you have good enough excuse for interrupting my private assembly" my father spoke to the guard
"Your highness the foreign visitors have arrived" it as if the solders words were a cue for action because my father's stoic face changed seamlessly into a face of great urgency.
"fire the drill, and get everyone prepared" he barked a sharp order at the guard and the guard turned around and made off to carry out my father's command. My turned to me
"I hope you aren't to busy to join me for an ambush..." my father smirked

Senzangakhona was in his office when he heard the bell. He at first thought to brush it off ,assuming it was the bell for the workers ,But when he took a second listen he realized that that was bell that told he that they had arrived. Half way through the year journey and he could not believe that they were finally there.
He scurried out of his office causing papers and flies to fly as he pushed through. Thulani had bet he to the deck and was standing at the edge with a hand held telescope. Senzangakhona charged to him and Thulani immediately handed him the telescope without breaking eye contact with their 'final destination'
"It's beautiful isn't ?"Thulani spoke first
"It is" Senzangakhona agreed. In they forced time together ,Senzangakhona had grown less cold and less suspicious of Thulani and even having something more than an acquaintanceship with him but his guard was still up
"Funani will be pleased..." Thulani started
"To know there is more land for him to expand the empire to" Senzangakhona finished
They had not been the first to come to this place, scouts were sent out first and they had messaged them a specific rendezvous. There would be a scout waiting for them once they arrive.
They parked the 'metal water snakes' straight into the shore. The threw an anchor into the pink sand and ladders. Only Senzangkhona, Thulani and the second team left
They relished in the feel of dry solid before getting on with the mission. The traveled the rest of the journey on foot. It was very disorientating , this place resembled nothing of their own industrialized world, here there was so much greener and less advancement. It was strange and off putting to not see buildings or factories.
"There!" pointed out Ayize the psychologist. Her skinny fingers were pointed at dark skinned ,stick thin man standing next to a tree. He had the empire flag planted next to him to show that he native to them. Ayize smiled and started picking up the pace as she wanted to start her work task as soon as yesterday.
But Ayize stopped when a human like finger had just appeared out of nowhere and sliced a clean cut across the throat of the scout. Alarms went off in everybody's head. The demolition expert Lindelani had also been a weaponologist immediately started pulling out firearm of his bag and throwing them to everyone whilst skillfully shooting with the other hand.
This was a clear ambush, they were betrayed and today rather than it be the day marking the expansion of the empire it would the day that marked all of their deaths.
Despite their best efforts they were were overwhelmingly out number and Lindelani's firearms were not enough. There were tied and caged in wooden and vine tied cages.
Senzangakhona was not afraid of death and decided that that was a better option for whatever was awaiting for them with their captures. He had a pill that had been put away for this kind of situton. He was just about to take it out and swallow it when his eyes met a woman.
She was whole different kind of breed of human to him and yet she strongly resembled his late wife
"Nandi..."
