Rebecca entered her home and placed her bag down, she took a bite of her apple when she heard her grandmother scream. She instantly dropped the apple and ran upstairs as fast as she could.

She swung the door open and saw a figure above her grandmother. The young woman's hand was on her grandmother's forehead.

"Hey! Get outta here!"

She faced Becca. Her eyes looked familiar, exactly like the eyes Rebecca's been drawing lately. Ice. Literal ice. The teenager was pale, the ice was dripping like tears. She had a nose ring and a lip ring. She looked aesthetically pleasing, but now was not the time to acknowledge this.

"Are you, Rebecca?" Lacey asked to make sure she had the right girl. Mr Aldin sent her on a mission. It was her task.

"Yeah, that's me," said a terrified Becca. Her eyes fell on her grandmother's body again, and her lower lip quivered. "What did you do to her?"

Lacey looked at the old woman beside her, "oh don't worry," she returned her eyes to Becca's, "she'll be okay. If you decide to become Mr Aldin's Queen,"

Rebecca has dreamt about this. Night in and out she's been dreaming about becoming Queen of the frozen ones, whatever that meant. Those dreams felt all so real, and the things that harmed her in the dreams for not wanting to be a vessel left real scars behind.

"I need you, we need you. Mr Aldin needs you,"

"For what?"

"To complete the final step of opening the book."

To Rebecca, that sounds horrible. She's still not with taking freedom from people. It's not right.

"And if I refuse?"

"He kills your only family, but if you agree, he promises to make her live forever,"

Becca raised an eyebrow and took a step closer. She looked at her grandma, "C-can he do that?"

Lacey grinned, "Mr Aldin has managed to get half of the students at school, and it's not because he's charming. He was powers and can grant any wish and take away any problem, he is god,"

"I-I still don't know about this, he spoke about enslaving the minds of others to make them frozen kids,"

Lacey smirked, "I'm a frozen kid, this is the enslavement. It's not that bad, I mean we consent, it's okay. We all wanted this. We're more happy than we've ever been and you not saying yes is selfish. You're taking away our dreams and every wish we've ever asked for. Some wished to excel in school, others not to starve. Some wished to be loved and others to belong. To have a family, and you're taking it away from all of us, why?"

"T-that isn't what I want at all,"

"Then say yes, and you're grandma wakes up right now, please? I don't want to kill her. But that's my order, and we cannot go against his orders,"

Rebecca was still hesitant.

"Do you want your grandmother to die? Do you wanna end up in an orphanage? Drifting from home to home?"

Becca sighed, "Of course not,"

"Then say yes," Lacey spoke. But only Mr Aldin's voice came from her mouth.

Rebecca straightened her posture. "Yes!" She said loudly and confidently.

Lacey tittered. "Let's go to the mansion."

They were all there. Every ice kid, each face she recognizes from her dreams. They were led to the dining room and all shared dinner. Becca sat down next to Mr Aldin.

"Family," he spoke. Everyone stopped eating and they stopped their little chatter to focus on him. "Rebecca over here has agreed to be my Queen. My very own vessel,"

Rebecca watched the rest. She hates this, she hates his plan and although she doesn't know him or what they're doing, she knows it's wrong. But she has no choice. Her grandmother needs her, and she also doesn't want to take the dreams from others.

She looked at him, he was completely transparent. Is this why he needs her?

"To move on to the second and final phase," Mr Aldin said, "we need to push. I need at least ten new frozen kids from all of you by the end of the week,"

The frozen kids gasped before speaking amongst one another.

"Mr Aldin!" Todd spoke up, "Ten is too much for such a short limited of time. We would never be able to get those learners in time,"

"He's right," Blair added, "convincing the others takes time,"

"Yeah." The others agreed.

Mr Aldin glitched.

Then he looked at Becca. "I have an idea,"

He looked at his kids, "I have granted each one of you gifts. Use them to instead snatch ten teens each and take them to your school. We will play our very first game there,"

The frozen kids didn't speak. Some wore large grins. Time is drawing near.

"What's the game?" Becca was almost too scared to ask.

Mr Aldin grinned, "it's called Frozen. We play and we turn others into frozen kids. The winner can walk away with their freedom,"

"Mr Aldin, turn them without consent? I thought everyone gathered here chose to become a part of The Family?" Todd asked.

Mr Aldin chuckled, "Of course everyone chose, but we don't have enough time,"

Becca rose from the table and walked outside. She needed fresh air. She began pacing up and down before stopping and biting the nail of her thumb. She needs to say no before things go too far, but her grandmother. She loves her grandmother so much. She can't envision a life without her. What would happen to her? She thought. Who is going to take care of her? She has no idea where her drug-addict mother is or her bum dad. Chasing them down would be useless. They're not capable of taking care of themselves, let alone someone else.

Lacey joined her and sighed. "I know you don't wanna do this, but-but if you don't, we're useless to him. And if we're useless, he kills us,"

Becca faced Lacey. "What?"

Lacey sniffed and wept softly, "We know... the others don't. If this doesn't work out, he's going to throw us all into the hole,"

"What's the hole?"

"I don't know," she attempted to wipe her tears with her shaky hands. "But his gods come from the hole and he used to be there before someone opened the book and set him free,"

Lacey's cries grew louder. Rebecca rushed over to her and held her to her chest. Lacey rested her head on Becca's chest. "Okay," Becca said, "I'll do it," Lacey raised her head and made eye contact with Rebecca, "I'll go through with it... but only for the kids,"

Lacey wiped her tears. "Thanks,"

"We need to find a way to stop him once and for all."
