Third Person's POV

***Years ago, after Yona's mother died***

"Yona! Look, it's snow!"  Soo-Won smiles happily, appearing before Yona.

"Yeah." She replies, still looking down.

He looks at her expression, and quickly kneels down, making a snow ball and walks over to Yona, announcing, "I made a ball."

Receiving no reply, he walks away again and announces again with a weird looking thing in his hands, "I made some strange thing."

When nothing makes her happy again, Soo-Won said worriedly, "Yona..."

She immediately looks up, exclaiming, "I-I'm doing great! I have to stay cheerful, so my father won't cry!"

She spins around, and then hears someone shout in pain.

"Huh?"

The two of them look down to find Hak laying on the ground. "You're heavy..." He groans, and Yona quickly steps away. "Hak!"

"Hooray, it's Hak!"

"Hime-san, watch your step. I was in a good mood, too." He protests, and Yona asks curiously, "Why are you lying down there?"

"I was engraving proof of my existence on the Earth."

"Huh?"

"When the ground is white with snow, it's human nature to want to lie down in it." Hak smirks, suddenly receiving a snowball right in the face.

Yona grins with another snowball in her hand, "You're the perfect target for snowballs."

Hak sits up, grinning evilly, "Really?"

They start throwing at each other with snowballs, and Soo-Won stays on the side, exclaiming cheerfully, "Well done, Hak! Yona is full of energy again!"

A few hours later...

Yona lays in a futon, breathing heavily with a towel on her forehead.

"Yona's energy has disappeared..." Soo-Won cries, and Hak mumbles, "I guess playing in the snow was a bit too much for the hime-san."

"Gomen, Yona."

"If you rest and take your medicine, you'll get better." The doctor on the side said gently, picking up the bowl on the desk.

Before she could leave, Yona asks, "Where is Father?"

"His Majesty is busy right now. But he will come to see you soon." She replies, standing up.

"It's okay, Yona." Soo-Won smiles, getting her attention.

"When he hears you're sick, the Emperor will come running." Hak grins, comforting her.

"You two can leave now. If you get close to me."

"We're fine. We feel great. Our bodies are really warm!" Soo-Won waves her concern away, but his face is clearly red.

"I played so hard, I can still see snowballs." Hak said, giving her a thumb-up, but he is acting the same way as Soo-Won.

An hour later...

The two boys lean against each other, looking sick as well.

"Doctor, you have more patients!" Yona shouts, waving her arms around.

After a few moment, the two boys are laying beside Yona as well, and Hak said out loud, "No wonder I saw snowballs flying around me..."

"Don't you two need to leave?" Yona asks worriedly.

"Apparently, it's best for us to recover here, so we don't spread our illness." Soo-Won explains. "But since I've been holding your hand when you sleep, nothing has changed."

Yona pulls her blanket up, covering her face in embarrassment.

Hak sits up in surprise, exclaiming, "You've been doing that? I'm leaving."

"Huh? Let's all hold hands."

"You can't be–"

The doors suddenly slams open, and Hak shouts in slight fear when he sees the one-eyed old man, "Grandpa!"

The leader of the Wind Tribe, Mundok, looks at him in anger, saying, "Boy, I heard you threw snow on hime-sama and made her sick."

"When ther's snow lying around, it's only right to throw it!" Hak retorts, watching as Mundok comes closer to him in fear.

Mundok pulls out a whip, yelling, "Show me your rear! I'll give you a whipping!"

"General, that's enough!" The doctor scolds, her hands on her hips. "They're sick."

The three children watches and sweatdrops as Mundok turns around, defeated, his head down, and disappears around the corner.

"I'll stay here, after all."

"That's the Wind Clan's head, General Mundok, isn't it?"

"Yeah."

"I admire General Mundok! I had no idea he was your grandfather." Soo-Won gasps in surprise.

"I'm an orphan. We aren't blood relative." Hak explains calmly.

"I see..."

"I'm only his adopted son."

"But Mundok came to see you." Yona said, smiling at Hak. "He must love you."

Hak looks away, blushing slightly. "I don't know."

Just then, Yona hears a sound and said, "Someone's here again."

The door slides open, and a man with a strict and weathered look in his eyes walks in. "F-Father, what are you doing here?" Soo-Won asks, stumbling slightly.

The man walks up to him, asking back, "Is there something wrong with a father coming to see his ill son?'

"You'll catch my illness, Father." Soo-Won said, looking down with a happy smile.

He kneels down in front of him, replying, "You think your illness could defeat me?"

"N-No! But I know this is a busy time for you..."

Yona turns around in her futon, closing her eyes frightenedly.

Uncle Yoo-hong is so strong and strict. He's nothing lke Soo-Won.

The man looks closer, ordering, "You must beat down this illness quickly."

"I will!"

Getting Soo-Won's reply, he turns around, walking away.

"His intensity is amazing. I think my fever's gone down already." Hak said, breathing out in relief when he is gone.

"That was scary..." Yona said, her voice a bit shaky.

Soo-Won falls back, smiling, "Today's such a happy day...okay! I will do my best to beat down my illness!"

Hak looks at him and lies down, replying, "Go to sleep, idiot."

Yona looks at the doors, her hopes going down.

Father...

It hurts. Why won't you come see me?

Don't leave me alone.

At night, Yona looks at her dinner in front of her, not eating anything.

"Hime-sama, at least take one bite." The servant in front of her tries to make her eat, but she replies, "I don't want to."

Knowing that there's no way to make her eat, the servant bows, going outside.

"Yona, you have to eat something." Soo-Won said worriedly.

"Or you'll get even uglier." Hak adds, but that didn't help.

"His Majesty hasn't comes yet?"

Hearing a guard asking outside, they look up.

"No, I told him about hime-sama, but..."

"This is the Emperor we're talking about. Perhaps he's too afraid of the illness to apporach his own daughter."

Soo-Won frowns, and before he can tell them to stop, the guard suddenly winces in pain, and a calm, melodic yet childish voice rings, "Shut up, idiot. If you make hime-sama cry I will kill you."

The shadows of the servant and the guard quickly disappears to the side, and the doors slide open.

A tiny white-haired girl in light blue clothes walks in, the mask on her face covering her eyes. She walks over to Yona, falling onto her knees. "Gomen'nasai, hime-sama. I was sleeping and didn't know you were sick." She apologizes.

"Ruri-chan, it's fine!" Yona said, looking at her, but the slight disappointment in her eyes is showing.

Hak looks at her and then said, "He's the Emperor, after all. Even at a time like this, he's hard at work. I respect the old man."

Yona gasps happily at his words, and smiles, "Yeah!"

Gomen'ne...gomen'ne for thinking I was alone.

When they are sleeping, Ruri throws a couple more blankets and a tableonto the three of them when they wake up to the loud growl coming from Yona's stomach.

"That was a huge growl." Hak smirks, shouting in pain when Yona hits him.

"Yona, are you hungry? I'll have something brought for you–Ruri-chan, can you take away the blankets?" Soo-Won said, looking at Ruri, who is leaning against the wall.

She shakes her head, "I can't. Hime-sama have to get better soon. I will do it." She reaches for the bell, ringing it.

"But I have to move to get to my food..."

"I will feed you."

"Ruri-chan!"

When they finally got out of their futon, Yona looks at the food in front of her, grinning happily, "Chicken porridge!"

She puts the spoon into her mouth, and then immediately puts the bowl down, exclaiming, "It's unbelievably disgusting!"

"Really? It tastes bad, huh?" The doors slide open, and the Emperor said sadly.

"Father!"

"I miade that." He explains, walking over to them. "I thought I'd prepare your favorite food to make up for not coming to see you. I made it according to the recipe..."

Yona looks down at the porridge and starts eating.

"Oh? I thought it tasted bad."

She looks up with tears in her eyes, but her smile is bright. "It tastes terrible!"

The two boys look at each other in relief, but Ruri takes the bowl and opens the window, about to throw it away.

Yona immediately runs over to her, stopping her. "Hime-sama, such horrible food isn't suited for you to taste, or even touch." Ruri said mechanically, but puts it down.

"No no no, it tastes good! Really good!"

"Really?"

"Yeah!"

"Then your majesty, please make this for her everyday."

"Ruri-chan! Hak, did you taught her this!?"

"Why am I responsible? I didn't do anything–ow! Are you sure you are a princess and not a brat?"

"You two, stop arguing!"

As the two friends argue, no one noticed the curling of the side of Ruri's mouth.

***End of flashback***

"We found her! She is right here!"

Ruri opens her eyes immediately, looking down from the tree to find soldiers surrounding the tree she is now on.

Yawning, she stands up. "Guess I fell asleep." She mumbles, stretching and yawns again, not acting like someone about to die.

"Come down right now or we are going to shoot!" One of the soldiers threatens, letting the others pull on the strings, aiming right at her.

"Huh? Why should I?" She asks, looking at them confusingly.

"I will count to 3, and then I will shoot if you don't come down! 1..."

"Oh, right, I helped hime-sama and Beast-san escape the castle!"

"2..."

"Wait, why is he counting?"

"3! Shoot!" The soldier orders, and the arrows are released from their bows.

Ruri looks at the arrows, waving her hand. The arrows immediately change directions and become faster, and before any of them knew it, an arrow is through each of their hearts, killing them instantly.

"Boring. Guess I should go and find hime-sama." She thinks out loud, jumping down and disappear in mid-air.

If cameras exist and recorded that moment in slow-motion, her entire body starts fading, and then as if a strong wind has appeared, her figure blurs before disappearing, leaving nothing behind.

**********

When night falls, Ruri appears onto a tree, looking around and tilts her head in confusion. "Are you sure they are in this direction? I can't sense them anywhere." She asks, and a branch hits her head lightly before falling back to the ground.

"Gomen'nasai, but–"

The branch flies back up, hitting her head again as leaves started forming words on the ground.

"You are an idiot." Ruri reads it out loud and then pouts, "I am not an idiot!"

Just then, she hears something falling from the side, and a voice that sounds like Hak.

Looking at the branch, she sticks out her tongue at it before rushing over to that side.

Arriving there, she looks at the snakes on the ground, and the figure running away from them, yelling, "Think of me as a tool for you to live!"

Ruri sighs, jumping down and arrives before the snakes, taking out a sword from the side and swings it.

A thin, sharp slice of wind forms and cuts off the snake heads, and the figure turns around to reveal the shocked looks from Yona and Hak.

"Ruri-chan?" Yona whispers, her voice cracked.

"Hime-sama, gomen'nasai for being late. I was sleeping and almost got caught." She said calmly, putting back her sword into the sheath.

"That sounds just like you, Ruri." Hak said, trying to smile, but she quickly covers his mouth.

"That's because it's me. You shouldn't run, the poison will go quicker, and you shouldn't smile either. It looks like you are crying instead." She said, holding Yona's hand.

"Hime-sama, you are safe now. I am here." Ruri said, smiling softly.

Yona looks at her smile, suddenly remembering her inhuman beauty. Before she can ask about it, her eyes become heavy, and she fell into a deep sleep.

Ruri looks at her gently, holding her hand tighter and looks at the sky.

She is still a child, so why this early?

Sorry for being a tad late in publishing this, I got tired and fell asleep. :P
