The Druid Girl [4]

"Is this the Druid camp?" I asked looking around. The camp was surrounded by tall trees with green, leafy canopies. Tents were scattered throughout the clearing in an orderly fashion. A stewpot sat in the middle of camp, simmering softly.

Wendy nodded. "Look! Those are my friends, Romeo and Chelia."

"Hey! You can talk!" I said, a bit distracted by the savory smells that were wafting around the camp.

Wendy smiled mysteriously and walked off towards the other two kids.

"Zarina," a woman said, nervously approaching me. "Is it truly you?"

"Uh..yeah..but I prefer to go by Erza," I informed her awkwardly:

The woman sighed, her eyes shining with tears. "You are so young. The greatest sorceress in all of Fiore. You will change this kingdom for the better."

I stepped back. "Is this about my destiny to protect the crown prince?"

"It is more then that, Zarina. Your fate has been written in the stars since the time of the Old Religion."

The Old Religion.

I had heard myths about the Old Religion, the time where magic was accepted. The countries of Albion; Fiore, Bosco, and Stella were all united until a terrible war broke out. Fiore banned magic, the monarchy of Bosco grew corrupt, and Stella built walls, attempting to keep the other countries out. The time of Albion was destroyed.

"It will be you who unites Albion," the woman said, bowing. "Zarina."

The rest of the Druids bowed.

"Zarina."

"We've searched everywhere," Jellal said glumly. "The girl has not been found."

From her seat on the throne, Minerva locked eyes with me and smiled.

King Faust got up from the throne beside Minerva. "Are you telling me a little girl escaped Fiore?"

"She could be on the border," Natsu countered. "The Druid camps move every month, but recent studies show the Druids keep to the border."

It was the smartest suggestion Natsu had ever come up with in his life.

Jellal stared at the ground. "I am sorry, Father."

"Cheer up!" I said, patting Jellal on his back. "Tomorrow is your birthday! His Majesty is preparing a huge feast for you!"

"I feel so ashamed."

"Ha! That proves you're a dollop head!" I said.

Jellal's mouth twitched slightly. "Someone is in a better mood."

"You will regret saving Wendy Marvell, young sorceress. This is only the beginning of the end."
