Liar [2]
"You can delay a person's destiny," Igneel had said. "But you can't avoid it."
If I could let King Faust live a little bit longer, maybe Jellal wouldn't grieve as much. If Faust died at the hands of magic, he would hate magic for the rest of his life.
So that's why I'm keeping a close eye on Minerva.
I didn't want to tell Mira Jane about Minerva. Sure, I'd been hinting about it, but I didn't want Mira Jane to be heartbroken. She always had admired the Lady Minerva.
I sat with the rest of the knights at the table. Prince Siegrain and Prince Jellal both were presenting their gifts to her.
"Which one do you like better?" Jellal asked, as Minerva slipped the jeweled knife into her pocket.
"I have to say," Minerva responded. "King Faust's is the best."
Faust laughed. "Thank you, darling. I'm honored."
Minerva giggled and kissed his cheek.

Tonight was the night.
Minerva put on a dark cloak and pulled up the hood. She would end the Druids suffering. Magic would be free!
She still felt nervous about killing Faust. When her father had died, it was Faust who took her in and cared for her. But Morgause was alright right. She had to listen to her.
Minerva fingered the jeweled knife Jellal had given her.
She had to do this.
It was her destiny

"Porlyusica!" I gasped.
"I know, I know," the old woman said, her head in her hands. "Your vision is coming true."
"What I do?"
Porlyusica said nothing.
"Jellal's not ready to be king yet!" I exclaimed. "As much as I hate Faust, I can't let this happen!"

Porlyusica and I rushed down the hall.
I ran down the corridor and darted around the corner, nearly tripping into something.
Or someone.
A guard lay on the ground.
A broken glass, with wine spilling on to the ground lay beside him.
I felt like screaming.
I left the physician with the guard and ran up the tower, to Faust's chambers.
Minerva was there, unlocking the door.
She unlocked it and it creaked open.
"Fermayiohr!" I whispered.
The door slammed shut, knocking over a torch.
Crap.
Minerva yelled out in surprise and jumped back, tumbling down the stone steps of the tower. I heard a thud and she landed at the bottom with a sickening crack.
I covered my mouth as I saw blood oozing from her head.
I didn't want this to happen..
I hid behind a piece of furniture while watching Jellal run out from his chamber's and yell for the guards.
He gently picked up the king's ward and left.
I emerged from my hiding spot, tears forming in my eyes.
What have I done?

"Minerva's cranium is broken and she is suffering internal bleeding," Porlyusica said, dabbing at a wound on her head. "She's also got a cut on her forehead. It might leave a scar."
"Who did this?" Faust asked, looking at the unconscious woman. "Who has the heart to injure her on her birthday?"
"I do not know, sire."

"She's in coma," the physician said. "She might not make it."
"I did this," I whispered. "It was an accident."
Porlyusica sighed. "Jellal was crying, you know."
"He was?"
"He's not letting anyone come into his room. You should comfort him."

I knocked on the door.
"Open the door, or I'll open it anyway," I said.
The prince opened the door, and walked back to the window.
"I'm sorry," I murmured.
"Don't be," Jellal whispered. "It's not your fault."
But it was.
"Whoever did this to her..I'll kill that person!" he spat angrily.
I did this to her.
"She's like my older sister," Jellal told me. "We were so close."
"Lady Minerva might..survive," I reasoned.
He laughed dryly, "We both know she's dying."
I knew what I had to do. I couldn't watch Jellal suffer like this. Outside, the citizens of Fiore were all grieving, holding candles and standing vigil.
I remembered what I had told Juvia Lockser. That magic wasn't used for killing. Even on accident.
So I made my decision.
I would heal Minerva.
