"Don't teleport.", I said to KM-13 as we got closer to Lukra. "I will scan the area."

He balled his hands into fists: "BUT I WANT TO SEE BEACHES!"

I wondered if this is how his producers had died. "Just a second. I am going to make sure we have a safe trip. Sit down for a second. Have some candy.", I lifted a chair out of the ground and handed KM-13 some gummy humans. His eyes lit up with excitement as he started devouring them with great passion. He sat down, lulling a melody to himself as he ate.

I took his arm and teleported us to an abandoned beach, far enough from civilization to be safe for the two of us. He dropped the candy and ran towards the ocean.

I was about to find out if my newfound cyborg friend was waterproof. 

It was bizarre to see an undeniable killing machine act so gleefully childlike. He also turned out to be waterproof. I took him to about a dozen beaches using my techdevice to scan and teleport. Even though the scanners were quite reliable I liked to hear my surroundings and listen for what could be a carrier of prying eyes. I supposed it was just because I grew up in humble circumstances. I liked to use my own senses. Maybe it made me feel connected to my ancestors? Maybe it just reminded me of my childhood.

As much as I enjoyed this strange vacation, vengeance was perhaps nicer. 

I was not always sure if I hated the Lex more than Chaus. But I was Chaus so perhaps it was only natural to hate Lex more. Gotta keep some love for Chaus because without it I would not even exist. It felt like a good moment to start this conversation. "So, what can you tell me about the Lex?", I asked. 

"They gave me the driest bread.", he said. "Really disgusting."

I rolled my eyes, but KM-13 did not notice it. Or maybe he just did not care.

"I would like to help you hurt Lex.", I said. "I don't really like them either."

"You haven't really told me anything about yourself.", he stepped close to me. I felt uncomfortable. "What do you want to know?", my entire body tensed up as he tried to touch my face. I jumped backward to avoid him.

"Are you single?"

"Ask something else.", I rolled my eyes.

"Do you want to be with somebody romantically?", he was searching for eye contact.

"Next question.", I said.

"Was that a no?", his tone was very human. I felt as though his people skills were improving as he talked to me. But I might have been imagining that as I got used to his cyborg-ness.

"Yes. That was a no.", I said decisively.

"Ok. What is your relationship with the Lex?", his face showed disappointment even as he changed the subject.

"They'd kill me on sight. So I never let them see me.", I gave him a conspiring look in an attempt to cheer him up.

His face transitioned to a neutral expression.

"I have always dreamed of blowing up Earth.", he said.

I had heard of planet earth. Nobody really knew what was going on there. The Lex never let anyone near earth.

"Why Earth?", I asked. An intriguing idea. For sure I was going to die young. But would I die a legend? The elf that escaped Hades, Lex, and blew up Earth. That would be something to chew on for all of these elf-haters.

"I want to stop Lex's experiments.", he gave me a look that I did not know how to interpret.

"And blowing up earth would be a good place to start.", he concluded. Did he actually care? Hard to say. Maybe I just could not see past the hunger for destruction anymore. 

I could become a hero to Chaus. Mother Nyx would probably like it if she was real. I wholeheartedly did not want to go back to working for the Keres-sisters. If I helped blow up earth I could probably have this very powerful cyborg as an ally for life. And also, it would hurt Lex. The world's most sanctimonious mass-murderers.

"Let's do it.", I said.

He took my hand and teleported me into the Hubris. I did not know he could do that. "No time to lose.", he said excitedly. "Let's blow up Earth."

My ship took course for where he assumed Earth was at high speed. "You know how to avoid their radars, right?", I asked KM-13. "Of course I can do that.", he smiled, drunken with childlike joy, "But good that you remind me."
