Kevin signed as his mom threw up again.

The pregnancy had been hard on his mom.

The divorce also didn't help their situation.

They had divorced when Kevin Atwater, Alaina Atwater, Josh Atwater, and Macey Atwater were 3 years old after they fell out of love with each other.

Then she had met Bruce Banner, and they had started dating and got married in a year. They had kids Moon Banner, Colby Banner, Kimberly Banner, and Troy Banner immediately after their honeymoon.

They are 15 years old now and very smart.

Kevin said," I wish I could get buy more  medicine for your morning sickness mom, but we barely have enough money to buy groceries and pay bills. This is not the life you should have. I will become rich so I can get you more medicine to make you well again, mom.  I don't want to lose you, mom.

Athena said," Kevin, it doesn't matter to me. All I need is a great son in my life, and I do.

Kevin said," Please let me do this, mom. I can't lose you. You're my mom, and I need you more than you will ever know, Mom.

Athena said," Hey.... it's... ok.. Kevin. I... love... you....my....son. Rememer..be...strong.

Athena's water then broke, and  Katherine Banner, Michaela Banner, Tayler Banner, and Ezra Banner were born healthy, and after that, His mom Athena passed away.

Kevin started crying while he held her hand. He couldn't believe he had just lost his mom. She was the only one whom he cared about. She supported his dreams for years.

His step-dad came home along with Kimberly Banner, Troy Banner, Moon Banner, and Colby Banner and saw Kevin crying and Athena unmoving on the couch and he was devastated.

Bruce softly asked," Kevin, what happened?

Kevin said," Mom passed away from her pregnancy. What are we supposed to do now?

Bruce said," I don't know, Kevin. Get a job and pay for the funeral expenses. That's all we can do at the moment, unfortunately, Kevin.

Kevin said," Okay. I'm going to go on a walk.

Bruce said," Alright, see you soon, Kevin.

Kevin went to his room, gathered up what money he had left over, which was a lot walked to the store, purchased a laptop, and is looking for a job. He saw Dolan Rhodes was hiring, and he filled out an application.

Kevin made dinner for him, his step-siblings, and his step-dad.

Kevin then heard back, and they accepted his application right away . He had an interview for tomorrow at 12 pm.

Kevin went through his closet and selected a long-sleeved blue button-up shirt with nice khaki pants and a pair of black dress shoes.

He got a shower, dressed in PJ’S, brushed his teeth, and headed to bed for the night.

The next morning.

Kevin made breakfast for himself and ate.

Kevin then washed his dishes and headed upstairs to his bedroom to get ready for his interview at Dolan Rhodes. He was nervous.

He got dressed and used the last of his money to book an Uber to the store and back home. He hoped they hired him today.

He needs the money for business/economics classes, especially if he wants to own his own business someday. Which will be soon.

He got his references, resumes, and a list of  questions as well on his notebook finished.

He heads to the Uber and buckled up, and Uber takes him to the Dolan Rhodes store.

A girl with dark hair and brown eyes noticed him and said," Hi. I'm Izzy Lightwood. Connor Rhodes will be with you in just a moment.  have a seat and wait.

What Kevin didn't know was that Izzy Lightwood was actually a shadowhunter undercover because there were reports of demons in the Dolan Rhodes store recently.

Kevin nods and says," Thank you, Ma'am.

Kevin sat down in the chair and waited patiently for his name to be called out.

Connor said," Kevin Atwater. I'm ready to interview you now.

Kevin took a deep breath and walked inside.

Kevin talked about his experience selling clothes and how he was good at it.

Kevin handed Connor his references and  resumes for him to look over, and Connor looked everything over, and he nodded at everything he was seeing.

Connor said," You're hired. You start now.

Kevin said," Thank you, Mr. Rhodes. You won't ever regret giving me a chance.

Connor said," You're welcome. Let's get started working now. Here is your uniform.

Kevin heads to the bathroom and gets changed into his uniform, and starts working right away, making jewelry.

Kevin took college business/economics classes, and boy, they were brutal.
