Chapter VI - The Future Plan

"The mayor's on television again," John spoke, crunching on Doritos.

KIntrell walked into the living room, glancing at his little brother before looking at the mayor of Chicago on the television, talking about the superhero 'scandal'.

"There looks to be an increasing number of masked vigilantes on the streets, I can't say that I am against this as they are saving the lives of officers and reducing the number of deaths due to gang violence."

Kintrell had a small smile on his face, finally an authority figure that isn't controlled by power nor money. He finally found the person he could trust to be on his side of law and order.

"But, I am going to have to issue a warrant of the arrest of The Knight, The Peacekeeper, and The Yellow Knight. I do not wish to hurt their productivity of defending this city, but the higher authorities told us and I quote, 'Vigilantes are for comic books. You either stand down and follow the order of law, or you'll be made an example of our jurisdiction."

Kintrell had the look of angry silence. His face turned from a smile into a disappointed look of bewilderment. This was her city, she didn't have to listen to anything the government says about HER city!

"You're somewhat smarter than me. Schedule a meeting with me and the mayor." Kintrell turned towards his little brother.

"What? I can't just give you a meeting with the mayor! Even if I do, that's illegal and you could go to jail!"

"Change my name, then! Look, I just need to speak with her, so do whatever you can!" Kintrell ordered, walking to the door.

"Where are you going?"

"To get pizza." He truthfully lied, stepping out of the house before walking towards an alley.

"Wait."  A soft and faint voice spoke to Kintrell. "You need to help with the Winter Ball committee."

"What? Why would I?"

"The Knight has been doing too much good in the streets and Kintrell should do the same, in case someone thinks the Knight is a tennager. A black one especially."

"I hate people." Kintrell mumbled as he got into his costume and grappled onto the rooftops and climbed up.

"I understand, but we fight for the people. Can't exactly send hatred to people just because most are ghetto and traitorous."

Kintrell scoffed and flew in the air, looking around the area. The sound of a phone was being dialed.

"You've reached me."

"Eddie, so there's news of other heroes in the city going around."

"Uh huh."

"So what if we find them and recruit them to fight with us? If they're in our city, it'd be nice to introduce ourselves, right?"

"You want to make a band of heroes?"

"The government won't do anything beneficial for us, so better us than them, right?"

"Right."

Louis was in a lab underground, working on a device that looked to be like a speaker, except it didn't have holes to carry audio through.

"What are you doing?" Clementine asked as she sat beside her boyfriend.

"If there's ever a vulnerability moment for us, I wanna make sure people get confused. I'm making holograms of our costumes." Louis had a small smile. "Decoys to guarantee our escape."

"So, you're secretly a genius?" Clem jokes, smiling at Louis.

"Well, we all had a cooperative hand in this. Kintrell brought the materials, Eddie built part of it, and I'm here to add the finishing pieces of it all."

There was the sound of a door opening as Kintrell walked through it, his costume detaching from the man's body and disguised itself as a watch. "How's the little project?"

"Beautiful. I might make this my entire costume. A bunch of decoys of me? Who'd get tired of hearing me?" Louis chuckles.

Kintrell smiles and nodded, looking around. "I'm sure Clem would. Maybe Eddie. Definitely m-"

"Yeah, I think I get what you're trying to say, Kintrell." Louis crosses his arms.

Kintrell shrugged and held the machine up as he pointed towards the floor.

The machine lit up, spawning a decoy of Kintrell that ran to the point.

"Holy shit! It works!" Kintrell spoke with happiness.

Louis smiled wide. "That's so awesome!" He smiles wide.

Kintrell turned towards Louis and hugged him.

Louis hugged back, smiling still.

There was a broken building that smashed into the ground, vehicles were smashed as well as other houses.

A mask was rolling down the rubble, landing on its side. It was shaped like a bat and it was yellow. It was active as the eyes were yellow.

"Unconfirmed reports right now about a horrific scene..."

"More questions are raised as it appears there were no survivors..."

"Louis, where are you?" Male and Female voices asked in curiosity and with concern.
