Chapter I - The Duo

The city was raining. It was pouring heavily, no lightning in sight or thunder to be heard from. It was peaceful, and the rain hitting against the windows and ground gave a relaxing and calm atmosphere.

That is until a gunshot broke the calming and quiet atmosphere.

The bullet traveled almost in slow motion as the man in the black and red costume, dodged the bullet and jumped in the air, only his red eyes were showing before slamming his fists into the enemy's back.

He then picked the man up, throwing him into another enemy as he charged to the next. The man aimed at the hero and fired his bullets.

He dodged, sliding, rolling to the right or the left, before jumping onto the man, disarming and dismantling the weapon before throwing him into a dumpster.

"Kin, there's a bank robbery. Clark and Lake. Hostages." A voice said on his ear piece.

"Noted. They won't see me coming." The deep voiced man said as he grappled onto the rooftop.

A couple people walked towards their windows, checking on the noise of gunshots and beatings as they saw a figure launch into the air.

The lightning hit was perfectly timed as it brightened the adults' and kids' view of the man in the black and red costume and his mechanical wings.

"Yeah, they're escaping in a car." The man on the earpiece said, sounding slightly worried.

"Eddie, the hell man? They're seriously escaping?" Kintrell asked, sounding angrier.

"Yep."

Kintrell sighed and pressed a button on his side, having his mechanical wings turn into a rocket glider. He started to fly towards the location.

An police car was chasing the two vehicles, not getting off their trail. The men from the vehicles were firing at them, trying to destroy the squad car. One of the bank robbers took a turn, driving off.

"Eddie, follow that one!", "Already am!" Eddie replied, hiding underneath their truck.

Kintrell flew towards the truck, staying quiet as the eyes on his costume turned from white to red.

The officer who's driving continued to stay on the bank robber's trail. "Sir, we should let them go! I really, really don't want to die by criminals!" The rookie officer in the passenger seat commented.

"Kid, I've been on these streets many times while you were still in diapers. Chicago just has amateur croo- Holy Shit!" The middle aged driver said, looking at the sky.

"What? What is-" The rookie stopped, seeing it as well.

When the lightning struck, they could see Kintrell with his red eyes, flying towards the car.

The officer started to slow down, letting the bank robbers get away. The criminals in the back watched and fist bumped, feeling victorious.

That is, until Kintrell landed on the car, looking down. The criminals stared in shock as Kintrell slowly lifted his head, having the eyes on his mask glow lighter in red.

Kintrell jumped back, throwing an impulse bomb. As soon as it exploded, it knocked the car off the road and into an abandoned home.

The men got out, running inside the home to hide.

Kintrell landed, seeing the officers park their car as the rookie stepped out, aiming his pistol at him. The middle aged man stayed in the car, watching in awe.

Kintrell looked at the rookie and turned around, walking towards the house. "Pull that trigger and I won't be responsible for my actions." He stated, not paying the officer any attention anymore as he immediately walked into the house.

The four men looked around, keeping together as they knew that if they split up, they'd get beaten. "Together? That's smart." Kintrell said, having his voice echo from everywhere around the home. It scared and intimidated the men as they kept moving together, looking around.

"Not smart for me, though." Kintrell said, landing on an enemy. The three turned, starting to fire. The suit made Kintrell speed towards the other enemy, kicking him down and break his arm as he charged towards the next, body slamming him into the wooden floor as he threw a shrunken towards the last enemy, having it explode in his face. The explosion was controlled and made him fly out of the window, knocking him unconscious.

"Freeze! You just injured those men!" The rookie yelled, aiming his gun at Kintrell. He held his hands up as an object dropped to the floor, immediately deploying smoke.

He vanished within the smoke.

"Eddie." Kintrell said as he sat on top of a rooftop, enjoying the night view of downtown.

"Yeah?" Eddie picked up as there was sounds of objects being broken and enemies being injured.

"You good?" Kintrell asked, not knowing if that was him or the enemies. "Yeah of course-" A scream of pain filled the mic, immediately making Kintrell fly towards his location.

As soon as Kintrell made it to the door, a man flew through the door, making the door fly off its hinges. Kintrell shook his head, walking in to see Eddie, smirking. "You're late to the the party." He commented.

"Thought you got hurt." Kintrell replied, looking around. "No, I hurt the robbers." Eddie smiled and shrugged, crossing his arms.

"Not bad, dumb and dumber." The voice of a woman said, making the two look around. Eddie's lens turned blue as Kintrell's were red. The two scanned the room, staying vigilant.

"You two are adorable." A woman said from behind them. The two turned, seeing a cat like burglar holding a diamond in her hand, smiling.

"Thanks!" She joked and immediately ran through the exit. Kintrell nodded and followed, charging after her. Eddie did as well.

They were on the roof. Kintrell held his shoulder out as he shot an anchor  at the cat-woman. She noticed and kicked off the ground, spinning over it. Kintrell sighed heavily and ran towards her, swinging his fist.

The cat-woman slid under his arm as she curled her leg around the hero's arm, throwing him into the floor. She smirked and cartwheeled away towards the edge.

Kintrell slowly stood up as she jumped off the edge. He rushed over, seeing she was on the other rooftop, blowing a kiss at him before running off.

Eddie smirked. "New girlfriend?" He joked. "Screw off." Kintrell sighed heavily and looked around, noticing a figure, watching them.

The two jumped over the side rooftop, charging at the figure. The woman in the hoodie pointed an explosive arrow at the two. "Eduardo Garcia and Kintrell Scavo." She said. The two stopped in their tracks, staring at her.

"That cat-woman is Jessica Cruz, and me? That's none of your fucking business." She smiled, jumping off the edge. The two ran towards it, seeing she landed on a truck.

The woman looked up at them, holding her middle fingers up at them before sitting on the roof of the truck, kicking her feet back and forth.

The two stared and looked back at each other, very, very confused.

An hour later, Kintrell got out of his costume and jumped onto his bed, smiling as he started to close his eyes yawning.

That's when the alarm clock started ringing, meaning that he had to get up for school.

Kintrell opened his eyes, sighing heavily as he slammed his fist onto the clock and went to get his clothes
