Part of That World
"You were tossed around pretty roughly."
Tara said as she looked over [Name]'s wounded shoulder. It was purple in the center and yellow on the outter part from where she hat hit the potted plant.
She scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"Would you believe me if I told you I've had it worse?"
She asked, causing Tara to make a face.
"Well, seeing as how you were just in here about a week ago for an explosion I'd have to say yeah."
She shook her head and looked away from Tara.
"Not the explosion, I mean."
Tara paused for a moment and looked at the younger woman.
"What do you mean?"
Tara asked, causing her to look up and smile softly.
"Down South I dunno if Jax ever told you, but I was allowed to run with the big boys; the Club."
Tara blinked as she leaned back, shocked to hear this bit of information. She shook her head.
"Were you patched?"
"No, no never. The Club didn't think it right to patch a SAMCRO princess into the mix. Which was a good thing I guess, or else I'd be sitting in Stockton right next to them all."
Tara moved her fingers around [Name]'s shoulder to make sure it wasn't broken or fractured.
"Then, what happened?"
"I was a scout more or less, like Juice. I was the sneaky, computer tech savvy person of the guys. I would help scope out the roads to make sure they were safe and want not, sometimes they were and other times -- well, you get the idea."
She said smirking toward Tara recalling the time she almost got her head chopped off by a crazed axe welding redneck.
Tara just looked at her baffled.
"You weren't a patched member and yet you still worked with them? Was their President crazy?"
[Name] could only smirk and snort at the question. Knowing that Tara knew nothing about her father and his club.
"I think it just runs in the family."
She replied softly.
Tara finished looking her over and gave her a free to leave okay. Standing up, she buttoned up her blouse and walked out of the medical room.
She had came to the hospital this morning instead of having Tara take a look at it last night. Tensions were too high to want anything done with her shoulder.
After all they had all just learned about Leanne's death last night, and that hit hardest to her, seeing as how she too was a female.
It was clear to see that this was a message that nobody was safe anymore. It didn't matter if you were in the club or not, if something happened in the club that somebody didn't like the enemy would find you and make sure to send a clear message to the club with whatever they would do to you.
Sign she walked through the hospital and the thought crossed her mind. She had been told that juice was in the hospital, since she was here she may as well visit.
She found out what room he was in from the receptionist and went there to find him laid up in bed watching the television. When she walked into the room his eyes widened obviously not expecting her to come visit him. He picked up the TV remote and turned off the TV with it making sure to give his full attention to her.
"Hey, Doc. What are you doing here?"
He asked as she made her way to the left side of his bed. She pulled up a chair next to it and sat down beside him. She smiled and placed her hand on his leg giving him a quick pat before drawing back and looking at his smiling features.
"I was in the neighborhood and figured I'd drop by and see how you were doing."
She would be lying if she said she didn't enjoy Juice. Over the last couple months of getting to know him, he was probably one of her best friends that she actually hung out and talked to on almost a daily basis.
She had gotten to know him probably more than she had anyone else. He was easy to talk to and he was closer to her age than anyone else in the club. They shared a lot of the same common interest and they were easy to get along with each other.
Although they both had their ups and downs and their friendship, they never really allowed anything to bother them. Juice was always nice to her and he was a support for her when things got tough in the club. She had learned that the day Tig wrecked his bike.
"Ah. And here I figured I was getting special treatment by you coming to visit me."
He joked. She playfully smacked him on his arm being careful of his injuries which she had heard about.
"Well, can't have you believing I came all this way just to see that adorable face of yours now can I?"
She joked about. She noticed that his cheeks turned a darker shade and it was then she realized that he was blushing. He turned his head down and looked away from her and chuckled quietly to himself before looking back up at her with that dorky smile on his face.
"Yeah. We can't have that."
He said as he cleared his throat. She smiled, finding his embarrassment rather enjoyable. Even though Juice was a part of the club he seemed innocent to her. It made her think about what his reasons were for joining the club and why he stuck around doing what he did.
He lacked the Men of Mayhem badge as he still supported the Sons of Anarchy hatch. Meaning that he had never taken a big hit for the club, or done something incredibly dangerous for the club.
He was almost like the baby of the club if you could honestly think of him that way. Although Half-Sac came in at a close second. Juice was still the innocent one.
"So why did you really come here?"
He asked now curious as to why she had shown up at the hospital today. He was slightly worried that it was something that happened in the explosion when the van blew up. He had yet known about Leanne and what happened at Clay's house.
Starting to unbutton her top she got out of the corner of her eye Juice as he tensed up while watching her unbutton her clothing. He had no idea what she was doing and his heart was pounding so fast and so loud that he could hear it in his ears.
But when she came to unbutton the third button down and she pulled back her shirt he asked quietly and his eyes widened.
He couldn't look away from the large bruise that was on her shoulder.
"Shit! What happened to you, Doc?"
His eyes gazed up at hers and away from The Mark. She gave a sad smile as she pulled her shirt backed up to rebut in it closing the view of the mark.
"Happened last night when TIG and Bobby got into it at Jim's potluck. Clay and Jax had started to fight in the middle of dinner and then Tig and Bobby went on it. I tried to grab a hold of Tig to keep him back but he threw me around like a rag doll and I ended up losing my balance and falling into the pot that was in the corner of the room."
"Holy shit!"
He whispered, never thinking that Tig would do something like that to her. He had seen the way that Tig and herself joked around and it never would have crossed his mind that take would have hurt her even an accident like that.
"That's not all that happened last night. The whole fight broke out after we learned about Leanne."
Juice just looked at her and noticed the tone in her voice a change to a rather sad and one. He shook his head and try to look her in the eyes, but her head was tilted down slightly to the point where he could not make eye contact.
"She was found dead on County 18. She was apparently beaten and thrown there on the side of the road."
Juice was silent. He didn't know what to make of what was just told to him. It was bad enough that she had gotten hurt last night, but then to find out about Leanne being dead. That just blew his mind and he didn't know what to say or do about it.
"I-I-I can't believe it? How? Why? Who would want to hurt Leanne?"
She shook her head.
"It was something about Jax doing some type of retaliation for Caracara. I don't know exactly what happened, but Hale came in last night and told us about it. Apparently Jack had been taking care of something that day and then the following night she ended up dead."
She sighed, looking back up at Juice.
"She wasn't even a club member and yet they killed her due to something that Jax had done. It's scary when you think about it. This means that nobody safe now. This game that's being played by whoever it is, it shows that they don't care if you're part of the club or not, if you were a woman or a man, if you cross them then you're going to pay for it."
She felt uses hand touch the top of hers. She blinked once she looked from the hand that was on top of hers, his thumb rubbing her skin gently, and looked back up into his eyes. He seemed rather serious at this moment as he looked at her.
"I would never ever allow anything to happen to you. You know that right?"
Her lips parted to speak but there were no words to be spoken. What he had just told her was a big promise. The same promise that was made to her by several other members of the club.
Clay being the first, Chibs being the second and now Juice.
She bit her bottom lip not really knowing how else to react. She nodded and placed her other hand over both of theirs.
This was a huge statement and a huge promise that he had just made to her. In the back of her mind she worried greatly that one day she would get him killed. But, he cared for her enough to be willing to make this promise.
And she knew that in her heart that he would do his best to keep his word.
