It's All Okay
She had bitched and moaned and complained until Tara finally moved her. [Name] was determined to see Chibs with her own eyes. Although Tara could have sworn that she just wanted out of that room due to the fact that her mother was there.
Tara had been warned prior to meeting her mother that the woman was demanding and blunt -- much like her daughter, but her mother was just plain rude when speaking. At least with [Name], you could tell that she had a heart of Gold -- unlike her mother.
So, Tara had sped up the tests to make sure she was able to be moved around, but it was a long and trying two days of testing between [Name] and her mother fighting, and Gemma getting into the mix.
But finally, she was okay to be moved and had Tara take her to see Chibs.
When she first entered, Fiona was there sitting on the couch. Fiona had been there for several days waiting for her husband to wake up from his temporary coma, but Chibs had yet to do anything out of the norm.
Fiona had been completely ignored as [Name] was rolled into the room in the wheelchair and gasped and covered her mouth with her hand when her eyes landed on the busted man in the bed.
Chibs looked like hell.
His head was wrapped up and hooked up to monitors just like she had been. When [Name] went to stand up, Tara was quick to grab her, only to be shoved back by an unexpected force of strength that came from no where.
[Name] wobbled at first being on her feet again, but she managed to make it to Chibs's bedside where she placed her fingers along his forehead and smoothed them back into his hair line.
"I'm so sorry. I'm so, so sorry."
She cried softly as she placed her lips softly upon his forehead. She looked down at him as Tara moved around the bed to take vitals. Tara glanced back and forth from under her bangs between Chibs and [Name], seeing just how sorry the girl looked at him.
He stirred in his sleep.
[Name]'s eyes grew wide as Chibs groaned and moved his head ever so slightly.
"Oh my God. He waking up."
Tara whispered seeming baffled. Chibs had been out cold the last few days and now all of a sudden he was waking up from the touch of [Name]? Tara waved it off as not that at all -- how could it have been, it was just a coincidence with the timing.
"Chibs? Chibs?"
She called out, feeling a hand slink up to her elbow and then up her arm ever so slowly.
Fiona stood slowly from the other side of the room and watched with curious eyes at the actions they took with one another. Gemma's words ringing in the back of her mind making the woman's eyes narrow as she said nothing while watching the two.
"Aye, lovie?"
Chibs voice was horse just like hers was when she woke up. His eyes opened slowly as he looked up at her, his lips parted slowly as his breathing was slowly.
"Chibs I'm so glad you're awake."
She whispered softly while stroking his forehead. There was a small laugh that sounded more like a sigh that passed through his parted lips as he blinked slowly and tiredly.
"I'm glad ta see yer alright, lass."
He spoke softly bringing a sad smile to her lips. He noticed the road rash across her face, but aside from that she was okay. He had risked his life to protect her when he didn't have to and for that she was beyond grateful.
"He should be resting. Waking up like this, he'll need to preserver his strength."
Tara said, looking up from checking his vitals. [Name] looked at her and sighed deeply, still running her fingers across his forehead.
Chibs didn't know if it was the drugs or his actual feelings, but he couldn't deny that he loved the way she touched him like that with a loving way. After waking up in an unknown place with [Name] next to him, caring for him in the way she was doing -- it was nice.
It almost made him forget about the throbbing pain that was found in the back of his skull as she ran her fingers through his hair as slow as she had done.
"Nah, let 'er stay."
Chibs whispered as his eyes opened more than before, his fingers still grazing up her arm while his thumb rubbed her soft cool skin slowly. His eyes landed on her soft face and noticed that she had been crying, she had been crying over him.
"I'm real glad ta see yer alright. I'm so glad."
He said, recalling the blast that had happened thanks to the throbbing of his head. He remembered the last thing that happened was grabbing her and shielding her with his body as they both flew through the air. He had made a split second decision that saved her life -- he regretted nothing.
"I'm so glad that you're okay, Chibs."
She whispered back, a small smile slipping to her sad lips as she looked down at him with such a loving gaze. She didn't know what she would have done if he had died because of her.
She probably wouldn't have been able to go on living with the guilt to be honest.
"Aye, lass. A bit banged up, but I'll live."
He chuckled, his head pounding as he did causing him to wince slightly.
"Filip?"
Fiona called out, catching [Name], Chibs, and Tara's attention. Tara had known that she was here and waiting on Chibs to wake up -- but [Name] had completely bypassed the elder woman and went straight for her friend that was laid up in the bed.
It was only when Fiona called out, did [Name] know that she had been there the whole time watching every move that she had made.
Chibs's eyes were wide as he looked at his wife in a confused manner as the woman approached them slowly.
"What are you doing here?"
His voice wasn't nearly as kind as it had been prior with [Name] and Fiona was quick to pick up on that but she continued forward anyway till she was at his bedside. Tara had moved away and back behind [Name]'s wheelchair.
She placed a hand over Chibs's as her eyes darted quickly between [Name] and his own. Chibs looked at her with a confused expression, wondering why she was here in the first place.
"I heard about what happened."
She cooed as she leaned over and placed a kiss on his cheek. [Name] felt her chest twist in pain.
She understood that this was Chibs's wife, but they hadn't seen each other in the longest time. Not since she was kidnapped and held hostage by Jimmy -- a fellow top IRA member.
[Name] had the pleasure on several occasions of meeting Jimmy back in Belfast when she lived there as a child with her mother. Galen and Jimmy would normally meet at her mother's home.
She didn't enjoy Jimmy at all, he seemed too quiet and had a rather mean look about him. But it wasn't until she had grown up and learned about what had happened between Chibs and Jimmy from Gemma, did she grow to hate the evil man that much more.
Nobody hurt her friends and got away with it, nobody.
But that wasn't the case as of right now. Right now, she was feeling extremely threatened by Fiona and she didn't understand why.
Her heart was doing all types of uneven beating that it hurt her chest to stay there and watch as Fiona showed a well put on loving affection in front of her and Tara.
"Could we have a minute alone."
It wasn't a question rather than a demand as Fiona looked to [Name] and gave her a fake smile. [Name] felt Chibs's hand slowly slide down her arm and rested upon the top of her hand.
"Aye."
Was all he said. It was a signal for her to go. Her heart sank more. Chibs had just awoken and she was being chased from the room after he had asked her to stay.
She nodded regardless. After seeing that her friend was alright to an extent she pulled away from Chibs and sat down back in her wheelchair. She closed her eyes as Tara turned her away from the couple and wheeled her out of the room heading back to hers.
Only opening her eyes when she heard the high pitched tone of her mother.
"There ya are! Where did ya go? I was lookin' all over for ya!"
[Name] gave a rather silent groan. Her mother could be so controlling sometimes it made her sick.
She couldn't believe it took her nineteen years and a move to the states to see this known fact.
"I was just visiting Chibs, mum. He woke up today."
Laura's eyes widened slightly as she crossed her arms across her chest. Tara had now stopped [Name] in the middle of the hall as Laura had it blocked.
Tara watched between the two, wondering what was preparing to happen next. She had learned quickly over the last two days that their mother daughter time was not the normal lovey dovey experience once would hope.
She had learned that the two almost never seen eye to eye and that their talks were almost always a dispute over something instead of a civil conversation.
"Filip Telford is on this same floor?"
Laura asked looking to Tara, who only looked back at the woman not knowing how to reply to the scoffing question.
[Name] rolled her eyes as she grabbed the wheels of her chair and pushed herself forward from Tara's grasp, wheeling up and past her mother.
"Yes mum, Chibs is here as well. If you didn't forget that he took the majority of the blow for me."
Laura shifted from one foot to the other as she moved over to allow her daughter to pass her by and head back to her room. She sighed, watching her daughter wheeling herself to her room wearing a hospital gown and rolling along in a wheelchair.
Laura then turned around to face Tara with a distraught look upon her face.
"This is exactly why I didn't want her moving to the states. Because I knew that someday something like this would happen because there wouldn't be anyone there to watch over her."
Tara felt her blood boil. This woman couldn't have been serious could she? She stepped forward toward the slightly taller woman and looked at her with a hardened look.
"And what was it that Chibs had done? He saved her life and weather you want to admit that or not it's up to you. But, he cares for her just like the rest of the guys at SAMCRO. She's not alone here. You should speak to her sometime instead of fighting her and perhaps you'd see that."
Tara walked away, not even bothering to look at the woman's face for an expression.
She had just about had it with that woman and the way she treated [Name] and Chibs.
Tara scoffed turning the corner and resuming her work as normal.
