Childhood Friends
Childhood Friends
Christina POV
He had waited eight years to return it.
"I'm telling you - the guy was a complete stranger, just walked up and gave me the ring," I truthfully explained once again. "There's nothing between me and that random guy!"
"Then why did he know your name?" Cas questioned.
"I don't know! I would never cheat on you!" I crossed my arms. "I can't believe you don't trust me!"
"Christina! The teacher is calling for you," a voice notified.
"Give me a sec teach!" I stamped my foot. "Geez, you're just like everyone else! Hell, every time I tell truth, you all think it's a lie. I shouldn't have bothered with this fucking shit."
"Then don't!" Cas huffed.
"Oh, I won't anymore, Cas!"
"Christina!" the teacher, Mr. Wong yelled. "Get over here-"
"I'm com-ing!" I stomped off.
"I'm sorry to interrupt you argument, but the new student is here. I would like the honor student, as in you, to show him the school," the Mr. Wong informed. "He's waiting at the office."
"I bet at least he will trust his girlfriend!" I slammed the door on my way out, louder than usual. "Office... Office... Office, finally there."
"Where's your pass?" the buff vice-principal, Mr. James asked.
"Oh, that I was so angry at Cas I forgot it! I'm the student showing the new kid around."
"Don't forget it again."
"Alright~. Sorry."
"Christina?" the stranger who gave me the ring from before stood up.
"I asked this once, and I'll say it again, but who are you?" I sighed.
"It's me, Jeffery," he replied. "Don't you remember? "
"JEFFERY!! It's been like... seven? Eight years?" I thought about it. "Yep, eight years."
"Do you remember about the ring we promised on?"
"Um... about that. I kind of got-"
"Don't worry," he looked down, disappointed. "It wasn't important anyways."
"So... where did you go? How have you been? How's your mom?" I bombed him with questions. "What's been happening in your life?"
"One at a time Christina!" we walked out of the office.
"Well, here's the cafeteria, and over there is the main building. This is the performing arts building, next to the gym," I pointed. "Gimme your schedule."
"You haven't changed at all," he laughed. "Do you do still get good grades, skip homework, and sleep in class?"
"Of course, who do you think I am? But I don't sleep as much, and- and I actually do my homework," I proudly crossed. "Since the third grade!"
"You're so diligent," he sarcastically chuckled. "You do your homework."
"Well hey, I'm not the person that kept saying things like 'bitch' near the hangers," I retorted. "Saying 'bitch, bitch'."
"I was seven," he defended himself. "You were the one saying nigga."
"I didn't know it was 'bad' to say."
"Nor did you know fuck, damn, or bastard was."
"I didn't for those either you fucking damn bastard."
"There you go again."
I finished the tour and brought him to his first class, the same as mine and Cas'.
Cas POV
"Cas," Mr. Wong called. "You should be careful about what you say to her. Seeing her response, Christina has never been trusted much."
"She always lies to everyone," I huffed. It was true that Christina, my girlfriend is a sneaking and cunning girl. "How can I trust her, when some guy just gave her a ring and called her by her name?"
"Do you think she lies, because no one will believe her, if she doesn't?"
"I... I didn't think of it that way."
"I was like her as a child. No one ever believed me, when I told the truth. If I lied, they did, but I didn't like lying."
"I... I'll apologize to her."
Christina POV
"Hey, Christina," Cas began. "I'm sorry- wait why are you with this guy?"
"He's the new kid I'm showing around," I pointed. "And I found out he's my childhood friend, Jeffery, from eight years ago."
"Like me," Cas glared. "I'm also her childhood friend from ten years ago."
"Be friendly," I slapped Cas' back. "Cas is my boyfriend."
"Boyfriend?" Jeffery made a face. "Nice to meet you."
"You too," Cas exchanged his rivalry. "I was with Christina in-"
"Kindergarten summer school! I don't remember it well, but I think I was forced into it, since I didn't go to pre-school," I interrupted, excited. "I was always with Cas!"
"My mom was really friendly with hers, so we knew each other for a few years," Jeffery informed, sounding somewhat boastful. "A few years is longer, than just kindergarten summer school."
"Anyways," I attempted to break the bad mood. "Since you guys and I are here early, and we finished our morning tutorial work, so can we go outside to hang out?"
"I want to work on the details of the project a bit more," Cas shook his head. "That guy- Jeffery can wait outside for us."
"Um... but-"
"I can wait in here," Jeffery sternly glanced at me. "And help Christina."
"Jeffery, come here in this room and I'll explain about how this school works more," the teacher stole Jeffery. "Let's leave these two alone for now."
"Cas?" I asked. "What's up with you and Jeffery?"
"It's just that- ugh I hate it!" he punched the table. "You and him!"
"Jealous?" I smirked. "Ha, you're jealous!"
"N-no," he turned away blushing. "I-I'm not!"
"You're so cute Cas," I kissed his cheek. "I love you."
"Don't do that," he kept on blushing. "I'm not jealous."
"You know, I remember really well one time I sat next to you, but there was always another girl or boy wanting to sit next to you, trying to steal my seat. I was super jealous, you know," I beamed, hugging him. "Even now, girls keep trying to hit on you, and the boys take you away. You were always popular."
"Really?"
"Yep. You were also my first love. Then I came to love you all over again."
"You're blushing."
"Shut up! My face is naturally pinkish!"
"It is natural, but it's redder than ever."
The classes came by fast. Cas was there in lunch to brag to his friends about what I said in the morning.
"Oh, come on? Who was jealous about Jeffery?" I stuck out my tongue. "You're only talking about what I did and said. What about you?"
"I-I wasn't- Don't mention that!" he blushed.
Then after school, I got to walk with Jeffery.
"So what's up with you and hating Cas?" I questioned.
"It just feels like he stole my sister," he admitted. "You were always like my sister to me."
"Cute, little Jeffery," I patted his head. "I was saying before you interrupted me in the office that I ended up losing my memories."
"You did? So that's the reason you don't remember about the ring."
"Exactly, so now explain it the ring. I usually get the memory back, after I get an explanation and see the real thing."
"You promised on that ring, eight years ago that we would meet up again after I moved and take care of me."
"Oh, I remember now! He reason you disappeared was because you moved cities! Then I gave you the ring I brought from the one dollar store."
"One dollar store is harsh."
"I'm poor."
"You can never lose that ring! Always keep it on your finger."
"Alright~. Hey Cas!"
"Jeffery, I'm sorry," he avoided eye contact. "I thought you were going to take my girl."
"I'm sorry too," Jeffery did the same. "I thought you're going to steal my childhood sister."
"Now that's all over, why don't we all start over again?"
"Sure."
"I mean introduce yourselves again."
"Again?" Jeffery complained. "But-"
"Do it," I ordered. "Now!"
"Hi, I'm Jeffery, Christina's childhood friend," Jeffery shook Cas' hand.
"I'm Cas, her boyfriend and also childhood friend," Cas responded.
"Now that's better!" I exclaimed. "Let's have get some candy to eat."
"You never change," Jeffery sighed. "Your teeth is going to rot like that."
"They will," Cas ganged up on me.
"Whatever! Hey when did you two team up on a defenseless innocent girl?"
"Defenseless girl as in the tomboy with has abnormal strength?" Jeffery rolled his eyes. "Who can't close a door and open it without making lots of noise, since you can't control your own strength?"
"And violently greeting people by head-butting and punching?" Cas also rolled his eyes. "Fighting people and pinning them down?"
"You two hated each other just in the morning, fighting over me," I pouted. "Why are you guys going against me now?"
"Morning was then, now is now," Cas squeezed my cheeks. "It's time for revenge for the time my girlfriend that told my friends I was jealous for her childhood brother."
"And the girl, who didn't realize who I was, until I said my name," Jeffery joined. "Forgetting the ring promise too."
"Hey, that's not fair! Don't keep ganging up on me!" I punched them both. "Revenge punches!"
"Who's punching who?" The buff vice-principal, Mr. James from before sped up to us. "Stop!"
"Oh, shit! It's James!" I ran away, using my long bangs to hide my face. "Run everyone!"
