Chapter Four
"Whatcha reading?" a voice asked.
It was my last period of the day, and I sat in the library for my study hall.
"It's just an old marvel comic I found in my dad's stuff when we moved," I shrugged to the male who asked.
He was a larger blond guy. Looked like he played football but off the field, couldn't a fly.
"Oh neat, my friend Kevin is always reading those. Which one is it?" he asked.
Kevin? As in Cherry Soda, Asian Kevin?
"Captain America," I smiled.
"Hey, aren't those things like worth like a lot of money?" he asked.
I let out a small laugh,"They can be. I've spent quite a bit on comics in my life, but I don't think my dad would ever sell his. It's a miracle he let me even touch them, let alone leave the house with them so I could keep reading."
"Yeah, Kevin is really protective of his too. Sometimes I think he likes them more than his girlfriend. Not that I could blame him," he laughed to himself.
I laughed too.
"I'm Bradley," he introduced himself.
"I'm (Y/N)," I smiled.
The bell rang dismissing us for the day.
"See you around?" he asked.
"Yeah," I agreed.
After school, I stopped by Game Stop to see if I could get anything for my Xbox before going home, and there he was, working. I couldn't help but smile to myself.
"Hey stranger," I smiled.
"Oh-hey," he flinched.
"Don't worry. You're bossy girlfriend isn't her to yell at you for looking at me," I joked.
He let out a laugh, "You noticed that?"
"Oh, I believe everyone has noticed that," I giggled.
"What can I help you with?" he asked.
"Just came to see what you had available for Xbox games," I shrugged.
"I'm a big fan of Battlefront II," he commented.
"You know, I thought about getting is, but the first one was a bit of a bust for me you know? Like, I love those movies, and the game just wasn't as epic," I frowned.
"Oh trust me, no one loves those movies more than me, and I'll agree the first wasn't-"
"Is that a challenge?" I narrowed my eyes.
"What?" he asked.
"Was that a challenge? Of who the bigger Star Wars fan is?" I repeated.
"No- I was- I was just say that, like, I really love Star Wars-"
"Because you'd lose," I cut him off.
He closed his mouth still flustered, not even knowing how to respond.
"I'll take Battlefront II," I continued.
He grabbed the game for me, his face still beat read, and had no other words.
"May the force be with you," I winked before leaving the store.
