at the same time, jeongguk and taehyung were a few seats back.

jeongguk felt like he was flying, he loved rides like these.

meanwhile taehyung, he felt like he was going to die.

he gripped tightly onto jeongguk's hand as they dropped, letting out a weak scream that made jeongguk look over in worry. "are you okay?!" jeongguk tried yelling over the deafening ride, but he knew he couldn't hear him.

so instead of trying to ask again, he just gripped tightly onto taehyung's hand back, hoping it would help the other.

when the ride stopped, taehyung looked a little pale and seemed dazed. "tae, are you okay?" jeongguk asked, beginning to unstrap himself with the hand that wasn't clutching onto taehyung's.

"yeah, just got a little scared." taehyung squeaked, still not loosening his grip one bit. when jeongguk saw that he wasn't moving, he leaned over and unstrapped taehyung himself.

he got up carefully, and tried to help taehyung up with him, but it didn't work. taehyung couldn't stand, his legs felt like pure jelly.

"alright." jeongguk sighed, although he really didn't mind at all. he got out of the ride then positioned himself so taehyung could get onto his back.

"get on." he ordered, and taehyung looked at him, confused. "like a piggy back ride?"

"yes, now get on." jeongguk laughed, and taehyung warily grabbed onto his shoulders for support, and hoisted himself onto his back.

"woo, you're heavy!" jeongguk said huskily as he stood up straight, pulling taehyung further up. "really?" taehyung asked in a small voice.

"nonono, i was just joking!" jeongguk quickly exclaimed, feeling bad that he might've hurt taehyung's feelings. "you're light as a feather actually!"

taehyung smiled as they walked out of the place where the roller coaster was, having his arms wrapped loosely around jeongguk's neck.

"we should probably go back to the others soon..." jeongguk trailed off, and then formed a devilish grin on his face. before it had seemed like he was about to go in the direction of their meeting spot, but then swiveled the complete opposite way.

"where are we going?" taehyung asked in confusion, bouncing slightly with every step jeongguk took.

"i don't really want to hang out with all of them, i think i'd rather just hang out with you so..."

taehyung blushed, leaning forward a bit so his chin was resting on jeongguk's shoulder. as he did so he caught a faint scent of coconut from jeongguk's shampoo, and smiled.

"so... ?" he asked, waiting for jeongguk to continue.

"i thought we could go on the ferris wheel instead of leaving with them."

taehyung felt his heart pick up in pace. he loved ferris wheels, and the views that came with them.

"i think that sounds like a great idea." taehyung laughed as jeongguk walked.

"really?" jeongguk smiled big and bunny like, tightening his grip on taehyung's legs as he turned his face around slightly.

"really." taehyung answered firmly, and then he decided on something.

he leaned forward and gave jeongguk a soft kiss on the cheek, his lips lingering on the spot for a few seconds before pulling back.

jeongguk stopped dead in his tracks, his entire face and ears turning bright red.

"d-did you just, kiss me on the cheek?" jeongguk squeaked, too flustered to even care that he had just stuttered.

taehyung felt his heart sink. a cheek kiss? what was he thinking? he was in college for god's sake, jeongguk probably thought he was a small child now.

"u-um yeah i did." taehyung said, feeling a bit nervous.

jeongguk on the other hand, was feeling quite the opposite way about the action. his heart was drumming at an extremely fast pace against his chest, and he was scared it was going into overdrive.

"i-i-" jeongguk tried to form words.

"i'm sorry, was that too childish? i probably shouldn't-" taehyung started to ramble sheepishly, but jeongguk stopped him without thinking.

"i think i wanna buy you a soda." jeongguk said, and resumed walking with a very confused taehyung on his back.

"wait, why?" taehyung spluttered, and he let out a small squeak of surprise as jeongguk jumped and pulled him up further, bringing taehyung closer against his back.

"because i want to find a way to repay you for the amazing gift you just gave me." jeongguk walked up to a food stand, not even caring to get taehyung off his back.

"g-gift?" taehyung was still extremely confused, but jeongguk was just calmly ready to order sodas with a whole other human on his back.

"taehyung, can you kiss me on the cheek again?" jeongguk asked nonchalantly, and taehyung's eyes widened.

"s-sure?" he leaned forward and repeated the same action as earlier, jeongguk's ears going just as red as before.

"that right there, that's the gift. definitely deserving of a soda."

"what are you, five?"

"yes, and you are too."

taehyung felt his legs turn to jelly once again, but not because of the ride this time.

all because of jeongguk.

30 minutes, a cherry cola, and a sprite later, jeongguk and taehyung were on the ferris wheel.

it made little creaking sounds as taehyung and jeongguk rose higher off the ground, sitting across from each other.

they were in a small compartment that was round, with a seat that stretched circularly around the whole thing.

"oh my gosh." taehyung looked to his side, noticing that the sun was really low in the sky, and the blue was beginning to fade to different shades of oranges and pinks.

"what?" jeongguk asked, and he scooted around the compartment so he was next to taehyung, their thighs touching.

"i just kinda realized that we were gonna be up here while the sun was setting." taehyung said, still looking in awe. it was like he was in a trance, and he loved every second of it.

the ride moved along slowly, taehyung and jeongguk holding hands the entire time.

and then as time passed and they neared the top, the sun sank further into the sky, making everything tinted an orange color.

jeongguk looked over at taehyung and saw how amazing he looked, how his eyes looked like honey and how the orange light perfectly illuminated his tanned skin.

"wow." jeongguk breathed, but taehyung had no idea that the only view jeongguk was admiring was him.

"i know, it's beautiful isn't it?" Taehyung sighed, staring out with starry eyes.

"not the view, you."

taehyung tore his eyes away from the scene and looked over at jeongguk, flushing when he saw the younger staring intently at his face.

"well, thank you. i did my make up before i came, so that's probably-"

"no, i don't think that's it at all." jeongguk interrupted, not being able to look away from the older's face.

taehyung gulped and stared back at the boy, noticing that he too, looked stunning.

they both forgot about the view and instead were just watching each other, this being a lot better than looking anywhere else.

and suddenly, while staring at taehyung looking as beautiful as he did, jeongguk knew.

i know where we're going to go on our next date.

jeongguk thought, already excited with what he was beginning to plan in his head.

he was interrupted however, by a wide eyed taehyung.

"you do??" he asked excitedly, and jeongguk's mouth dropped open.

"did i say that out loud?"

shoot.

jeongguk had already planned the whole thing out, and one of the major aspects of the date was that everything was a surprise.

"yes you did! now tell me!" taehyung whined, grabbing onto jeongguk's arm and pulling on it lightly.

"i can't tell you." jeongguk panicked, trying to escape the older's grasp.

"why??"

"because it's a surprise!"

taehyung pouted, he knew that if he didn't know, it was all he'd be able to think about until the date actually happened.

"i don't care, just tell me!"

"nope."

jeongguk is a lot of things, and stubborn is definitely one of them. so in times like these, it came in handy.

"come on, just a hint?"

"no can do!"

the rest of the ride consisted of taehyung nagging jeongguk, and jeongguk repeatedly refusing to tell him anything.

even as they got off and jeongguk drove taehyung home, he would bring up the question every five minutes or so to nag, and then drop it again, only to bring it back up later.

but jeongguk wouldn't give in, no matter what.

he smiled to himself.

taehyung was going to love it.
