dieciocho

{just wanted to make something clear, hoseok and jimin both live away from their parents while hoseok attends an early college school and jimin attends regular high school. they live together now k thanks uwu enjoy and get tissues}

jimin stumbled into the house, tripping over his own feet as he walked. he could hardly see straight, his vision blurred at the sides.

the moment he got to the couch he collapsed on top of it, erupting into a fit of drunken giggles that notified hoseok of his presence.

"chim?" hoseok called from the bedroom, pausing what he was doing. "seokie!" jimin yelled when he heard his voice, rolling off the couch with a dummy grin on his face.

he ran lopsidedly to the bedroom, immediately lunging forward and wrapping his arms around hoseok the moment he saw him.

"hoseokie, i'm sorry." he slurred, clutching onto the back of hoseok's shirt. he reeked of alcohol, making hoseok gently push him off.

he stumbled backwards, and the grin from earlier completely disappeared. "hoseok," he began, but then examined his surroundings.

he saw an open suitcase on the bed, halfway filled with clothes that he presumed were being packed by hoseok. he felt himself sober up instantaneously, a lump growing in his throat that he didn't know if he could swallow.

"seok, why are you," he paused to blink back tears and recollect his thoughts, "packing?" he finished, looking at hoseok with wide, teary eyes.

"i'm leaving." hoseok said firmly, and jimin felt his heart crack.

"leaving?" he choked out, walking forward a bit so he was closer to his boyfriend. "you're l-leaving me?" hoseok reached forward and cupped jimin's cheeks, despising seeing him look so broken.

"no, i'm not leaving you. i just," he brought jimin into a hug, and despite his words jimin couldn't hold back his tears, crying into hoseok's shoulder.

"i think we need a break." jimin let out a choked sob, and hoseok winced, bringing him closer.

"nothing permanent, i'm just going to stay with my parents for awhile. i promise you i'll come back." hoseok reassured, but jimin couldn't stop.

"p-please just stay." he sobbed, and hoseok felt his heart crack too. he sat them both down on the bed, pulling jimin into his lap.

"jimin, it won't be forever, i just think we need a bit of space." hoseok tried to explain, but jimin just remained silent, crying into his shoulder in a still semi-drunk state.

his cries died down, and he pulled his head back so he could look at hoseok with puffy eyes.

"i'll tell you." he said, and hoseok's breath hitched, and he placed a gentle hand onto Jimin's back.

"i think i'm still going to go see my parents, so you don't have to tell me if you're not ready." he began rubbing circles onto jimin's back, who sniffled.

"no, i want to tell you before you go." jimin confirmed, leaning back into hoseok's touch. "i need to."

hoseok gave a small nod. "okay." he waited for jimin to start.

"are you telling the truth?" chanwoo asked youngjae in disbelief, still not believing that the boy was telling the truth.

"yes, that's what happened, i'm sure of it!" youngjae confirmed, although he was more talking to himself when he said so, not that the other boys could tell.

"damn. we should probably lay off seokjin now, it's not his fault that fag blackmailed him." baekhyun said, chuckling a bit.

"so," wonho began, still not fully understanding the situation, "seokjin isn't gay?" everyone else in the group sighed, youngjae literally had just explained what was going on.

"yeah, he's not. that new boy jimin blackmailed him into sleeping with him." youngjae said firmly, and wonho let out a little "ohhhhh."

"how do you know this again?" baekhyun asked skeptically, still not really believing the entirety of the situation.

"seokjin told me."

a lie.

"ah, i see." baekhyun said, looking up, lost in thought. he looked back down, scrunching his eyebrows. "damn. that's heavy."

everyone else nodded in agreement, and at that moment seokjin walked into the cafeteria, eyes widened when he saw the group of boys who had been tormenting him for the past week and a half.

he was about to turn around and walk straight out, when he noticed baekhyun waving at him to walk over and come sit.

he obliged, slowly walking over to the table and sitting down with a knot forming in his stomach.

"seokjin." baekhyun said, reaching forward to fist bump him. seokjin winced as he thought he was about to get punched, but then snapped out of it and returned the fist bump with a shaky smile.

"so, i heard you were blackmailed. that's real tough man, i wouldn't have beaten you up so many times if i had known." baekhyun remarked, making seokjin feel both confused and angry.

"blackmailed? what, no, i-" he was interrupted by a harsh elbow to his side, delivered by none other than youngjae.

"what he means, is he doesn't want to think about it. the memories are too disgusting." youngjae laughed nervously, and everyone else at the table laughed too.

baekhyun on the other hand narrowed his eyebrows, before dismissing it because he didn't care enough.

"but that's not what i-"

"look, i think we're gonna go. i'm done with my food." baekhyun talked over him boredly, clearly not paying attention to a word seokjin was saying.

he and all the other boys got up in unison, leaving only seokjin and youngjae at the table.

seokjin immediately turned to him, his fists clenched in anger. "what the fuck dude? blackmailed? i was not blackmailed i'm fucking gay youngj-"

"slow down." youngjae cut him off, putting his hands out as if to stop him. "you're saying things you don't mean again jinie, you really need to quit doing that."

"what? who said i didn't-"

"seokjin, just stop talking." youngjae reached over and wrapped an arm around a furious seokjin's shoulder, oblivious to the anger coursing through the teenager's veins.

"everything's great. i just cleared your name," he stretched his hand out in front of the two, as if doing one of those 'painting the bigger picture' things.

"everyone wants to be friends with you again," he gestured to where baekhyun and his crew had just left, "and that fag can't bother you anymore." seokjin grimaced at the word fag.

"he's not a fag, he's-"

"bro, what did i tell you? stop resisting. just go with it." youngjae unhooked his arm, still not paying attention to the rage boiling in seokjin's mind.

"i'm done, i'll catch you later." youngjae got up nonchalantly, and left seokjin, the boy's lips pressed into a thin line as he thought about what the fuck just happened.

he looked around until his eye's caught a certain boy's gaze, his entire body tensing up.

he and jimin looked at each other momentarily, the younger holding seokjin's gaze before looking down and breaking the eye contact, head hung low.

and in that moment of just looking at jimin, he realized he was in love.

he was undoubtedly in love with park jimin, and man did that scared the shit out of him.

so he decided.

he had been blackmailed.

now

jimin finished telling what happened, how rumors had spread throughout the school, and how he had to transfer somewhere else, where he met hoseok.

hoseok just listened intently, not showing any reactions until he was sure jimin was completely finished.

"i just, the rest of my time at that school was hell. they called me blackmail boy, all because seokjin couldn't man up and tell them the truth." jimin said softly, hating having to think about it.

hoseok pulled him close, shushing him. "i know, i'm sorry." hoseok stroked his hair.

"so that's why i hate him so much." jimin chuckled lightly, the evidence of crying still prominent in his voice.

hoseok let them stay enveloped in silence for a moment, allowing jimin to calm down and for the boys to just enjoy each other's embrace. then he spoke.

"can i give you some advice?"

jimin looked up at him, and nodded. "yeah, sure."

"i think you should talk to him. this happened awhile ago and it sounds like he was just a scared high school boy."

when jimin looked at him confused, he continued.

"i'm not excusing his behavior, but i'm just saying you should talk to him, hear what he has to say. he clearly regrets everything that happened."

jimin processed the words and then slowly nodded against hoseok's chest.

"that makes sense, i'm just," he sat up, looking down at his boyfriend. "scared."

hoseok sat up too, and grabbed onto jimin's hands lovingly, looking into the orange haired's eyes with his own warm ones.

"maybe you should tell him that, not me."

jimin looked down at his feet, watching as hoseok's own one's got up and walked over to his suitcase, finally filling it up.

he heard a zipping noise and tried to hold back the tears, knowing that hoseok had a reason to do this and he would come back soon.

"when you and seokjin figure it out, give me a call." hoseok said gently walking over and forcing jimin up to look into his eyes.

"i love you." he whispered, and pressed a chaste kiss to jimin's lips, who allowed the tears to fall.

"i love you too."

he left.

and jimin cried.
