3RD PERSONS VIEW。
"Shit- just track him again!" Jaemin said in frustration, licking his dried lips.
"You lost track of him?" the faded blue-haired mafioso heard Donghyuck uttered mockingly through the in-ear.
With an eye twitching in annoyance, he spat out in response to Donghyuck, "Shut up."
"One of them are in... SevenDays cafe." Chenle pointed out before muttering a few unclear words under his breath.
Fingers raking through his rarely styled up hair, Donghyuck scoffed lightly before peeking from his spot, "Wait... is that... Keiko!?" he nearly choked, seeing the silver-haired standing beside Daniel.
"What do you mean?" Jeno questioned before accessing the street cameras, looking for the right angle before noticing her in one of the side angles. "Oh shit. It is Keiko."
"Hold up. The guy is just a few meters away from them– the one by the car." Chenle stated and ruffled his hair.
Hendery looked down at his pocket, feeling the vibration coming form his silenced phone. One of his eyebrows arched up as he swiftly fished it out and answered it after taking off his in-ear. "Hello?"
"We just spotted the Nightwalkers in the cafe Keiko was at awhile ago... keep an eye on them." Lucas' voice was clear through the other line, although there were sounds of faint audible barking. "Okay- I told you, Bella. It's not yet time for treats!"
Hendery deadpanned, pressing the red 'End' button to disconnect the call with Lucas. He certainly didn't want to hear Lucas' baby voice that he always used when talking to Bella — their dog — since hearing it again and again makes him want to throw up already.
"Anything?" Renjun glanced at Hendery who just plainly rolled his eyes, "The Nightwalkers we've been tracking are actually allied to Daniel– I think..."
Renjun scoffed, "And he has the audacity to brag about Keiko trusting him. What a jerk." the boy pressed a finger onto his in-ear, listening closely.
"What's the plan?"
"There are so many people on the streets today what the heck- you have to do something about it." Jeno murmured and shook his head.
"Where's Taeyong-hyung?" Donghyuck questioned, eyes still glued onto Keiko's back as he watched her argue with Daniel. "Damn, my babe looks so fucking fine while getting angry at Daniel."
"Could you not?" Chenle irked before pressing a button to signal the other members. "I've already alerted them."
"For now, just stay put, and watch them close."
Donghyuck hummed and chuckled deeply, "I knew something like this would happen."
Back at the headquarters, Jeno whipped out his phone, scrolling through his contacts until it landed on Keiko's. Pressing the phone closely against his ear, he waited for her to pick up as he watched Chenle and Jisung bicker like the usual.
Ten was sitting on their black leather couch, hands fumbling around his Switch in annoyance. He knew something like this would happen. A few minutes passed and he stood up, alarming the younger boys.
"Where are you going?"
"To save my baby, duh." Ten rolled his eyes and walked out of the Dream unit quarters.
Jisung blinked repeatedly before peering over his divider, "Since when did he have a baby?"
Chenle shrugged, "Does his cats count?"
"Maybe Yangyang?" Jeno tilted his head.
Jisung shook his head before watching Ten through the security cameras. Seeing the older boy saunter into the garage, giving Yangyang a pat on the back before entering the sports car.
His mouth formed an 'o' shape in realization, "Ah... his baby is Keiko."
. . .
Keiko scoffed in disbelief, betrayal washing over her as she stared at her apprentice. "Daniel, you know what happened at the bar a few days ago. Didn't I just reject Taehui's offer?"
Daniel folded his arms in front of his chest, eyes displaying sadness with a hint of pain, "I know... but it's the only way to help you–"
"Only way? There are a lot of ways to help me– you should've at least talked to me about it before taking action. And seriously, out of all people, you just had to ask Lee Taehui." Keiko huffed out, her fingers curling into a fist as she tried to remain calm, not wanting to burst out too much anger onto the younger.
An exasperated sigh left her cherry lips as she stared at the boy who avoided her strong gaze, "I'm going home."
The girl turns around, and started walking away, leaving her apprentice completely dumbfounded. Daniel shot a look towards the fedora-wearing guy who glared at him, pointing down onto his own wristwatch as if to say that time was already ticking – and it was indeed.
His lips were pressed together as he craned his head towards Keiko before he started running towards her, taking a hold of her arm as he desperately pulled her towards the opposite direction. "Kei-noona! I swear– they're not bad people!"
Shocked, Keiko had her eyes wide open as she gazed down at Daniel's hand who kept tugging her close to the car. She seethed, "Daniel- I told you! No!"
"Noona–"
Keiko shot him a look one last time before prying his grip off her, "I said no!" she said before running away, the sound of hastened footsteps just right behind her.
"Daniel! What the fuck!?" Keiko yelled as she continued to run, muttering small words of apology towards people she happened to bump into, causing her pace to slow down.
"I'm helping you escape!"
"Right- you're making me fall into another trap!" she pointed out the obvious before noticing a white sports car speeding up towards her direction.
Squinting her eyes, the black tinted windows rolled down as Ten waved at her. "Baby, I've come to save you!" he yelled as Yangyang pulled over, the door opens wide and as soon as Keiko reached the car, Ten pulled her in quick making Yangyang drive away fast.
Taking note of the black car following them, Yangyang swerved in each lane, still making sure that no one gets involved.
"Are you okay? What the hell happened and did you know!?" Ten exclaimed, his worried eyes glistening as he say beside Keiko.
"About Daniel?" Keiko glanced back to see the black car just by their tail. She shook her head, quite disappointed for what he did, "No... actually."
Yangyang quickly turned right, the sound of a bullet piercing into the car's trunk made him yell, "Yah! I'd rather not die in the hands of Yuta-hyung if he finds out I scratched the car!"
Ten laughed and pulled out a gun from the door pockets of the car, pressing the button to reel the window down before sticking his upper body out, directing the gun towards the opponent's car.
Yangyang kept checking the rearview mirror, his upper teeth biting down his bottom lip. "They're more annoying than I am." he sniggered before reaching out for the gun that he placed earlier in the front seat, handing it backwards to Keiko.
The girl raised a brow knowingly, eyeing down the gun. "What?"
Yangyang tossed it towards her, "Distract them."
Keiko sighed and pressed the window down before shooting back out the window from time to time. "Taeyong should start paying me for standing in someone's job."
"We lost them." Yangyang grinned as they entered the familiar deserted road.
"The other will take of the rest– so we'll just head back to the base then." Ten said and leaned back comfortably.
Yangyang connected with the Dream unit with the use of his own in-ear. "Yes– what the fuck? I am not Ganggang– I swear... Chenle! Whatever. We're heading back with Keiko."
"She's safe, don't worry." Yangyang mumbled and glanced at the girl through the rearview mirror.
Ten smiled at the her softly, seeing her slowly dozing off to sleep. "She must be really tired." Yangyang said out loud, causing the older to look up at him and nod.
"I don't think she wasn't able to sleep last night– Kun did quite scare her..." Ten muttered and shook his head, remembering what Kun told him awhile ago.
"Did you really kill Shin Jiwoo?" Yangyang tilts his head, a bit curious.
Ten let out a laugh, "No. She was scared about Mark's tiger that Sicheng brought in to taunt her with."
Ten let Keiko rest her head against his chest as he played with her silver dyed hair, "Kun sent her home, making sure she'd never dare to mess with us again."
Yangyang nodded curtly before slowing down upon nearing their base entrance. "I'm nervous though."
"Why?"
"Taeyong's meeting up with Eiichi today, isn't he?"
Ten's smile faltered within a second, "Right..."
