For some reason, Jungkook chose a restaurant that serves fried chicken. Seokjin had texted him and offered to go to a nice restaurant, but the omega got feisty and demanded chicken because that's what he wanted and Seokjin decided not to argue.

That's how he ends up driving up to the small building that Jungkook sent him the address of. He realizes that he's dressed too formally in his suit and tie, but that's just what he normally has to wear so it felt right.

He parks his car and immediately undoes his tie and slips his blazer off, leaving him in his light blue button-up. He tidies up in the small mirror and straightens out his sleeves before stepping out and heading into the restaurant.

The building is small, so his eyes automatically meet Jeon Jungkook's upon walking in. Jungkook must've been waiting for him. He's only ten minutes late, though. He can't help traffic.

When he walks up to the small wooden table Jungkook is sitting at, he instantly notices two things.

First, he notices that Jungkook's hair is different. It still has little waves in it, but he's got short bangs and a small mullet-like hairstyle going on. It brings out the round shape of his face, brings out his wide eyes, and his ears, which the hair is tucked behind.

The second thing he notices is the scent. The scent of coconut, which is not what Seokjin recalls being so strong over his cherry blossom scent, but it's somehow even more alluring. It brings Seokjin into a daze as he steps up, making him forget to greet the omega for a second until Jungkook speaks to him.

"Are you gonna sit?"

Seokjin blinks back into reality and once he realizes he's just standing there like a big dummy alpha, he pulls out the chair across from Jungkook's– he's sitting at a four-seater table.

"Yes," says Seokjin, way more proper and formal than Jungkook as he speaks. He sits in the chair with a straight posture, looking right at the omega. "Are you going to tell me the reason you–" Seokjin is cut off as a waiter comes up to the table and sets down a plate of fried chicken, tells them to enjoy it, and then walks off. "Anyways. What did you want to say that was so important? This isn't a trap, is it?"

Jungkook immediately digs into the food, so Seokjin slowly follows. The chicken looks greasy and not really appealing, but it'll do. He sometimes skips dinner anyways, so at least he's eating even if it isn't healthy.

"Let's just eat for now," Jungkook says.

But the silence only allows Seokjin to glance up at Jungkook every few seconds, watching as he eats like he never has in his life. He's glowing– literally glowing– as he chomps down happily onto his chicken. Seokjin wonders if it's his favorite food or something.

The silence becomes too much after a while.

He wipes his hands off and sits up straighter again.

"You're too quiet," he mutters. "That's a first."

Jungkook peeks up at him from where he's hovering over his plate, a chicken leg in his hand as he chews. He slowly sets the chicken down and then wipes his hands off as well.

He takes his time as he gets himself ready to begin their conversation, taking a few sips of his drink and situating his shoulders more comfortably in the chair.

For a split second, Seokjin can sense the anxiety in the omega's scent, just like the day on the talk show.

"I saw you won the election," he says with the slightest voice crack as if it physically pains him to say it. Seokjin props his elbow up on the table and sets his chin on his palm.

"Did you call me all the way here to congratulate me, Jungkook-ssi?"

Jungkook rolls his eyes and Seokjin unknowingly pouts just like he does sometimes with his friends when he doesn't get his way.

"No," Jungkook states, "but congrats or whatever."

"You don't seem happy to be congratulating me," Seokjin says, a slight smile forming on his lips, but it falls immediately. "But why are you congratulating me, anyway? Shouldn't you be writing an article about me or something? Write something on Twitter? Something like that?"

"I don't want to."

Jungkook's words feel like a slap to the face. Only now does Seokjin's stomach twist with something unfamiliar. Something seems wrong. Something has changed, but he just can't quite put his finger on it and it makes anxiety bubble up inside him as well.

"Why do you suddenly want to be nice, Jungkook?" he asks seriously this time, not liking the way the conversation is being dragged on.

The anxiety in his stomach twists deeper as he watches the omega inhale deeply and then release a slow sigh. Jungkook's eyes meet his and Seokjin suddenly can't look away. There's something wrong, something serious, something–

"I'm pregnant, Seokjin-ssi."

The twist dissipates, but his entire body becomes solid. Nothing seems to work properly. His mind goes blank, his heart stops beating, he holds his breath, just entirely forgetting how to be a human. His hand feels numb as it drops from under his chin. He goes limp as he stares right into Jungkook's big brown, worrying eyes.

He really should say something, but he just can't. The shock is too much and he's never been good with confrontation like this. He's never been good at taking news like this.

But then he notices the welling of tears in the omega's eyes.

"I- I know it's not okay," Jungkook whispers. His voice is a lot smaller now as if it's scared of itself. He lifts his fists to his eyes and begins wiping back tears, shaking as he does. "I'm sorry. I-I'm so sorry."

Seokjin's alpha instincts take over and he immediately begins coming back to life, no longer holding his breath and finally allowing his heart to speak for itself.

"Jungkook..." He moves out of his seat and rushes to the chair beside Jungkook's. Even though he's also shaking a bit, he hesitantly wraps his arm around the omega's shoulders and pulls him in, holding him close as Jungkook continues to cry.

He decides that he'll wait until Jungkook calms down some before he talks, plus it'll give him some time to think about the situation.

The reason Jungkook called him out here tonight was just for this. He has no other reason to believe that he isn't the one who got him pregnant. There's no way that Jungkook would call him out here if he wasn't sure of it, and the one thing that Seokjin trusts is his own alpha instincts. He knows.

He trusts his wolf. He trusts that his wolf feels so protective for a reason. Trusts that Jungkook's scent being more alluring than ever is because that's the scent of his pregnant omega and that's final. That's just it.

Jungkook's scent meshes together so well with his and he can't help but feel nice as the omega nuzzles into his scent gland for the comfort of the alpha who he must be longing for right now. Seokjin feels the same. Jungkook must feel the way he does.

And the second Seokjin senses another alpha approaching them, he holds tighter onto Jungkook.

"Is everything alright over here?"

Seokjin turns to look up at the same alpha waiter who came by earlier. He bares his sharp teeth and snarls, growling lightly and earning a very displeased look from the other alpha. But he can't help but feel extremely overprotective over the omega in his arms.

"We're fine," he tries to say calmly. He tries not to snap. A girl beta hurries up to the alpha and urges him away, telling him to give them space, and Seokjin is thankful for that.

When the alpha is gone, Jungkook wraps his arms around Seokjin's waist and nuzzles more comfortably into his neck. His crying has stopped and he smells content with his new position, holding the alpha so close.

"Jungkook," Seokjin tries again, his voice a lot more kind and sweet– sweeter than it's ever been when talking to the journalist. He swears that Jungkook purrs. "I'm here for whatever you need me for, Jungkook-ssi."

There's a fresh hint of shock in Jungkook's scent, but it easily gets replaced by more of that sweet coconut scent from before. Seokjin realizes now why Jungkook's scent has changed so much. He's pregnant.

"Could you come over?" Jungkook mumbles into his skin. He starts to believe he was hearing things, but then Jungkook detaches himself from his neck and Seokjin frowns. Jungkook's eyes meet his and it's like the very first time all over again. "Can we talk about this in private, please?"

Gently, Seokjin nods his head and releases his hold on Jungkook. He has to let him go if they want to leave anytime soon. Still, he wishes– now that he knows he's pregnant– that he could keep the omega near him at all times.
