"Girl Meets Her Monster" 

It has been a few weeks since Lucas' parents got permission from TJ's parents to adopt him, and after a lot of paperwork, TJ is now TJ Friar. TJ honestly is more than happy to be living with his new family. Lucas' parents' took him in with welcoming arms, treating him as if he had always been a son of theirs. That meant a lot to him since he was very nervous and anxious about how things were going to go.

It took a lot of getting used to since TJ lived in a big mansion and downsized quite a bit, but he was okay with it. He would be okay with nothing if he just had a family who loved him and cared about him. It's still a little weird to think of the fact that Lucas is his brother now. He got confused a bit at first when they went home together after school and had to remind himself they're brothers now. Having a brother was pretty great, and sure it was tough at times, but he wouldn't change it for the world.

TJ spent most of the weekend binge-watching this show called Red Planet Diaries along with Lucas. The season finale was premiering in soon, and they decided to binge-watch the series to prepare for the finale. Their parents also wanted them to have some brother bonding time so they thought binging the show together would be a win-win. They ended up not sleeping at all for the three days, and TJ had trouble keeping his eyes open today, but it was worth it.

TJ rests his head on his arms that lay on his desk, watching his teacher with raised brows. Cory sat on his desk, holding his knees up to his chest. He was rocking back and forth, muttering 'Very bad' over and over again.

"You!" Cory exclaimed when his daughter walked in along with Maya. He looks at Riley and Maya with a wide-eyed expression. "What did you do?"

Riley looks at him with wide eyes. "She called you?"

"She didn't have to." Cory replies, shaking his head. He looks up as a scared expression forms on his face. "I sensed it as soon as the sky turned black!" He looks back at the girls, pointing at Maya. "And you! How did you let this happen?"

Maya let out a nervous laugh, gesturing to herself and Riley. "People think we're friends?" She walks over to the front of the class. "Ha! People. Where do I sit?" TJ sits up, looking at her with furrowed eyebrows, when she walks over to him. Grabbing his arm, Maya pulls him up and then pushes him over to her seat. She sits down in TJ's seat. "I sit here now."

TJ chuckles lightly, shaking his head. "Maya, I'm not gonna be you now." TJ told her but still sat down at her desk.

Maya looks at him with a smile, waving a dismissive hand. "Oh, I think you'll be a great Maya."

"Riley," Lucas speaks up, gaining the brunette's attention. "Apologize to your mother and do whatever she asks."

"Yeah." Zay chimes in. "The finale's probably not even gonna be any good."

TJ scoffs. "That's obviously a lie. We all know that it's gonna be just as good as the rest of the show was."

Riley furrows her eyebrows. "You guys aren't even watching it?"

"Are you crazy?" Zay looked at her in disbelief.

Farkle grins, turning to Lucas, TJ, and Zay. "Red Planet sleepover at my house!"

Lucas grins, gesturing to himself and TJ. "We're bringin' smores!"

"Yeah, we are!" TJ grinned, air high fiving Lucas since they weren't sitting near each other at the moment.

Cory looks at Riley. "Riley, let it go. You can't win this."

Riley sighs, glancing at the class. "What is the matter with everyone? This is normal, healthy teenage rebellion. This is supposed to happen. I'm right on schedule. How could this go wrong?"

"I would list out the possibilities." TJ comments, shaking his head. "But that would be a long list."

"Educate her, Hambone." Farkle said to Cory while Riley sat down in front of TJ.

"Chapter One: Crushing Defeats." Cory said, getting off his desk. "Godzilla...Versus Japan."

"Japan loses, Riley." Farkle told Riley.

Cory nods. "Really loses."

Farkle smiles. "Tell her how bad they loose."

Cory looks at his daughter. "They loose so bad that their voices came out of their mouths three seconds later."

Riley tilts her head to the side. "How does that compare to what's happening here?"

"Because what's going on here is Godzilla versus Riley." Cory responds. "You're Riley."

"I'm a teenager. I'm in high school. I have rights, and it's time I said so." Riley said.

Cory purses his lips into a tight lip smile while nodding. He gets a paper bag out of his desk drawer, dumping out a walnut. "I'm Riley. I'm a walnut. I'm in high school. I have rights, and it's time that I said so. And now there's this."

TJ's eyes widen when Cory gets a hammer out of the drawer and smashes the walnut. "Mommy is not a hammer." Riley told her father. 

Cory looks at her as he nods. "I know what I married."

TJ looks at Cory with concern. "So...I'm a little concerned you just so happen to have a hammer in your desk."

"Oh, yeah. That's a new thing that's gonna happen now." Cory nods, smiling a bit. "Whatever I need is gonna be right here in this desk." He put the hammer back in the drawer and picks out a small vacuum. He used the vacuum to clean up the walnut crumbs. He put it back in his drawer while Riley speaks up.

"This isn't just Godzilla versus Riley. This is Godzilla verses Riley and her faithful sidekick Maya." Riley said, turning to TJ with a smile on her face.

Slumping his shoulders, a pout forms on TJ's face. "Why do I gotta be the sidekick?"

"'Cause you're Maya now." Riley replies, raising her hand up that had a matching ring Maya wore. She smiles. "Ring Power!"

TJ furrows his eyebrows. "I don't know what that means, but sure." He raises his right hand up to Riley's. "Ring Power!" He said, just not as enthusiastically as Riley said it, and Maya looked at the two of them with shock.

Later that day TJ walks into Topanga's, surprised to see how busy it was. He tilted his head to the side, noticing Topanga was basically forcing people to leave. Some of the people she was forced to leave hadn't even ordered yet.

"Hi, Auggie." TJ greets the young boy as he walks over to Auggie and Topanga. Auggie smiles and waves at him. TJ turns to Topanga after waving back at Auggie, looking at her with concern. "Are you okay?"

Topanga nods, glancing out the window as if she was looking for someone. "Perfectly fine."

TJ glances around the busy place before looking at Topanga. "Do you need any help?"

Topanga shakes her head. "No, Riley should be here any second." She looks back at the door, biting her lower lip. "Hopefully."

"What exactly happened?" TJ asked her and then quickly added, "If you don't mind me asking."

Topanga sighs. "Riley stayed up all weekend along with Maya watching this show called Red Planet Diaries. I told her to come help me today, and she said no and thinks watching the show is more important than helping me with the bakery."

"I mean, the finale coming up is really important to the show and is something you wanna get prepared for." TJ spoke, immediately regretting speaking when Topanga stared at him with a harsh glare.

Topanga shoves a writing pad rather harshly in his direction. "You either help me with the orders or get out before I force you to leave."

TJ sheepishly smiles, taking the writing pad from her silently. He then starts to take the orders of whoever just walked in. After he got their orders, he walked back behind the counter and starts making them. He has watched Topanga and Katy work behind the counter before, and it didn't look that difficult to do.

He glances over his shoulder when Auggie speaks up. "Gee, mom, it must be tough when your oldest child lets you down, and you don't have any other children to give all of your love. Oh, wait, here's one now." Auggie smiles at Topanga, gesturing to himself. "Hi, mommy."

"Auggie, she's on her way." Topanga said, looking at him with a smile. "She'd be very foolish to be anywhere else." As she continues to speak, TJ takes the orders he made to give it to whoever ordered it. Then, after seeing everyone who was inside were satisfied, he walked back over to the counter.

TJ looked at Auggie, laughing a bit when he tried to get Topanga's attention by smiling rather widely at her, but Topanga had already turned around, looking at the door with an angered expression.

"The greatest finale in the history of television!" Farkle exclaimed from his spot on his desk, looking at the rest of the class with a grin.

Lucas smiles, glancing at the class. "And Farkle didn't even guess what happened!"

"And he didn't spoil it for me, Lucas, TJ, or anybody." Zay chimed in.

"Which I'm glad about," TJ speaks up, looking at Farkle threateningly. "'Cause if you did I would've punched you."

Lucas gestures to himself and TJ with a grin on his face. "We brought smores."

TJ chuckles, patting Lucas on the shoulder. Farkle continues to grin at the class. "It was too good! I could never spoil anything that good!"

TJ looks at the door of the classroom with raised eyebrows when Riley and Maya walk in, covering their ears while repeating, "La, la, la, la."

Farkle looks at them with a smile. "Even I didn't even guess that Blarg was the human and everybody else was the Martian!"

While Maya and Riley screams, Maya lays on Cory's desk, kicking her feet while Riley leans back on her desk. Then, after a few seconds, they stand up, looking at the class with an upset expression.

Lucas looks at them with wide eyes. "You didn't see it?"

"How could you have not seen it?" Zay asked in disbelief. 

"You watched every episode to prepare just like me and TJ did." Lucas voiced.

"Riley was grounded." TJ replied.

The girls look at him with confusion, wondering how he knew that. "Oh, I went to Topanga's yesterday and helped out." TJ explains. He looks at Riley sympathetically when she sighs. "Your mom told me what happened and she was really busy. She could've used your help."

Lucas looks at Riley with surprise. "You? But you're Riley."

Riley nods. "Godzilla took my laptop."

Zay furrows his eyebrows. "What about your phone?"

"She took that, too," Riley replies. "Godzilla's crafty."

Maya runs a hand through her blonde hair, her lips forming into a pout. "She took my phone, too."

Farkle looks at her with confusion. "How could she take your phone?"

Maya stares back at him with an upset expression on her face. "Godzilla knows no boundaries. She's Godzilla."

"Okay," Everyone looks over to the right side of the classroom where Cory stood by the windows. "That's my wife we're talkin' about."

Farkle sits down, raising his eyebrows at him. "So?"

Cory looks around with a frightened expression. "So she might hear!"

Maya looks at the class. "How could Blarg be a human if he had two heads?"

Riley nods. "And if his name was Blarg?"

"And if he was green?" Maya added.

"He wasn't!" Farkle exclaims. "Everybody else was! It was the audience who was mind-wiped! Brilliant!"

Lucas, TJ, and Zay mimic an explosion. TJ sits down while Riley looks at Maya with a frown. "We missed it. We missed the greatest moment of our lives."

Maya sighs as Riley sits down. "Alright, she needs me."

She walks over to her seat where TJ sat. "Time's up, Canada." She said, giving him a slight shove. He didn't move that much, but he did chuckle a bit. TJ got up and moved back to his seat next to her. Maya sat down just as the rest of the class sat down as well.

"Sometimes the battle just isn't worth fighting." Cory said, walking to stand at the front of the class. "A diplomatic solution might be preferable to the horrible cost of war."

Maya opens her bedroom door when she hears a knock, surprised to see TJ standing there carrying his backpack. She smiled a bit, happy to see him even though she was confused at what he was doing here. "Uh, hi, Canada. I'm not complaining at all, but why are you here?"

TJ shrugs his shoulders, looking at her with a smile. "Just wanted to check on you."

Maya blushes a bit at the fact that he cares enough about her to go to her house to check on her. She tilts her head to the side, smiling widely at him. "Awe, who knew you were such a romantic."

TJ rolls his eyes, staring down at the floor when he felt his face grow hot. "Shut up."

"Also kind of concerned at how you got in my house." Maya admitted.

"Oh. Your mom let me in." TJ told her. He glances behind him as if he was afraid someone was listening and then looks back at Maya. "She's nice but also kind of intimidating. She told me we had to keep the door open."

Maya chuckles a bit, nodding while she moves over to sit on her bed. "Yeah, I'm not surprised she said that." Moving over to the wall a bit so there's room for TJ, she pats the place next to her. "Since you're here might as well sit with me."

TJ goes over to her bed, taking his backpack off as he takes a seat beside her. "Gonna tell me why you brought your backpack with you?" Maya asked. Her eyes grew wide, and playfully shoves him. "You didn't come to my own house to kill me did you?"

Shaking his head, TJ laughs. "Nah. And if I did, I would've brought a bigger bag to hide your body in." Maya looks at him with a bit of surprise. TJ chuckles, leaning over to place a kiss on her cheek before going to open his backpack. "I'm kidding, M."

A shy smile tugs on Maya's lips when he kisses her cheek, and she giggles a bit. "Oh, yeah. Yeah, I totally knew that."

"I brought my laptop with me 'cause I recorded the finale and thought you might want to watch it." TJ told her, getting his laptop out as he leans his back against the pillows in front of the headboard of Maya's bed.

Maya looks at him with a grin, scooting closer to him. She lays her head on his shoulder while he pulls up the show. "T, you are the best boyfriend in the world."

TJ feels his face grow hot when she rests his head on his shoulder, but he smiles. He clicks start on the finale, wrapping his arm around the blonde. "Yeah, I know. And you're the best girlfriend in the world, M."

"Yeah, I know." Maya repeated what he said, looking at him with a cheeky smile which made him chuckle. He kissed her forehead, looking at her with a smile. She returned the smile and turned her attention back to the laptop.

Halfway through the finale, TJ found himself looking around Maya's room since had already watched it. TJ hasn't been in Maya's room before and he had to admit it looked cute and was definitely her style. Then something on Maya's dresser got his attention and he reached for it.

"TJ!"

He jumps, startled by the sudden yell, and looks back at Maya with an innocent smile when he sees her looking at him with a glare. "I was looking for the kitchen?" TJ said, but it sounded more like a question. It was the first thing he thought of saying, and he knew Maya didn't believe him, but he didn't know what else to say.

Maya pauses the finale, pointing at him. "Don't go through that journal, Canada."

"Why?" TJ questions, glancing back at the blue-colored journal curiously. "What's in it?"

"None of your business." Maya replied, turning her attention back to the show as she pressed play.

Looking at her, TJ bit his lower lip and looked back the journal, tempted to look at it just because she told him not to. Then, as quiet as he can, he picks up the journal, letting out a small yelp of surprise and accidentally dropping the journal when Maya yells at him again.

"Canada, don't go through that!"

"I'm sorry!" TJ apologizes, looking at her with an apologetic smile. He picks up the journal he dropped, taking all of his willpower not to open it then and there. He quickly sets it back on the dresser and looks at Maya, dramatically gesturing to the journal. "But it's you're fault for telling me not to go through it 'cause that's all I wanna do now!"

Maya groans, getting sick of having to pause the finale a lot. Finally, she pauses the show, turning to TJ with an annoyed expression. "Are you seriously a child? Dude, just don't look through my journal. That's such a simple thing to obey. It has private stuff in it I don't want anybody to see."

"Oh, is it like a diary?" TJ asked, tilting his head to the side while he lowered his arms back to his side.

Maya shrugs. "Kinda. I also write songs in there."

TJ perks up at hearing that, glancing back at the journal with a smile. Maya regretted telling him that and quickly got up. She walked over to him, grabbed his hand and pulled him over to the bed.

"T, just stay quiet and don't go through my stuff while I watch the rest of the finale." Maya demanded, sitting back on her spot while TJ sits beside her.

"And cuddle me." Maya added, letting go of his hand to pull his arm around her shoulder.

Pulling her closer to him, TJ laughs a bit and nods. "Whatever you want, M."

Maya smiled and rested her head on his shoulder again, pressing play on the show.

The next day Riley is sitting at her bay window with no phone or laptop since she's grounded. A smile then tugs on her lips, and she decides to sing the theme song of Red Planet Diaries. "Out here in space, I kiss your green face."

"But it feels like you're light years away." Riley's friends appear at her windows, singing the theme song along with her, and she looks at them with surprise and happiness. Maya was shown in the window behind Riley, Farkle and Zay were shown in the window on the left side of Riley, while Lucas and TJ were shown in the right side window.

The five of them quickly hide below the windows when they see the door to Riley's room open. Riley looks over, smiling at her mom, pretending that nothing just happened. Topanga looks at her with confusion, looks around the room for a few seconds, and then walks out while closing the door behind her.

Riley looks back at her windows with a smile, happy to know her friends were still with her even though she was grounded. She got up and walked over to her door, moving to sit down and leaned against it, not knowing her mom was doing the same thing on the other side. Riley's friends appear in the windows again, each of them smiling at Riley.

A/N i decided to write this episode cause it was cute & i did enjoy writing it! did anyone notice the julie & the phantoms reference?? it wasn't really a reference i guess but i wrote something similar to a scene in one of the episodes in jatp 'cause i thought it would be funny & cute. also very sad to say that there's only like four more chapters left :( you guys gave me a lot of great ideas for continuing to write about maya & tj. i haven't decided if i'm going to do that, but i am thinking about it. anyway, don't forget to vote & comment!
