Emma sits in Donnie's giant chair eating a bowl of ice cream watching a compilation of cat videos as Donnie leaves the lab with two vials one dark red and one purple

Donnie runs with excitement of what he had just discovered though the power of science. "Leo! Leo!"

Leo raised his head up while he was sharping his katana. "What is it, Donnie?"

"Okay, I made a sample of the purple ooze, right?, to expedite analysis of the isotope? But while I was waiting for it to catalyze, I started thinking. If the purple ooze can turn humans into animals, perhaps if properly re-engineered... watch this, watch this. It can turn us..." Don told Leo

Donnie as he squeezed a single drop of the purple ooze with an eye dropper on the back of his hand. "Into humans." His hand has gained two more fingers, transforming his fingers into five "If we can get our hands on more of this stuff, it could be life-changing."

Leo looked a little unsure

"And after that something gave me an idea for Emma so I took a sample of her blood-"

"Donnie you know she has a phobia of needles!" Leo frowns scowling him

"It was just a tiny sample but I tested some of her blood with the ooze and well .. look." Donnie demonstrates by squeezing a droplet of the purple ooze into the vial of Emma's blood, suddenly the dark red blood turned into a regular shade of red "It looks like the ooze affects her DNA making it .. normal."

Leo looked skeptical "Leo .. i-it could help her if I could get more of this stuff I might be able to create a serum to make her .. normal."

Leo looks down and then turns to Donnie. "We don't need that kind of change, plus Emma is going though enough trauma already it's not the right time to get her hopes up with this kind of stuff."

Donnie's face turned into a frown a little bummed that Leo didn't like his idea but nods "Okay... you're right. To blend in with humans could compromise our strategic advantage. We have a system that works, we shouldn't mess with the formula." He looks at the vial with Emma's blood clutching it in his hand "I don't know much about the purple ooze I could accidentally miscalculated and eject Emma with it .. I-I don't wanna hurt her."

Donnie was about to head to the lab, Leo stopped him.

"And Donnie," he began. "Listen, you can't say a word of this to the others especially Emma."

Donnie walks away with disappointment what they didn't know was that Emma was listening from the lab with her heightened hearing with a hurt look on her face

They had a slightly chance of her being normal

And they wanted to keep that from her

Emma didn't even realize how angry she was as the multiple screens on the computer glitched and chemicals in the beakers started to boil, suddenly the bowl she was eating her ice cream out of shatters into pieces on the desk making her flinch back to reality

"Hey munchkin I've got some Mario Kart set up if you wanna play-" Mikey walks into the lab with a smile but admittedly noticed the shattered glass on the floor "Whoa!" He quickly steps over it picking Emma up in his arms "You ok baby sis? Did ya get cut?" He moves her arms making sure she didn't get cut by the glass

"N-No I'm fine." Emma looks away, Mikey lightly frowns "Hey you ok munchkin? You can tell me?"

Emma squeezes her shirt and looks him in the eye

Raph grunts as he lifts his weights above his head working out.

"Hey Raph."

"What da want numb nuts?" Raph groans annoyed sitting up seeing Mikey carrying a tearful Emma in his arms, Raph quickly softened his face "Hey Hey squirt what's with the water works?" He puts Emma on his lap wiping her tears with his thumb "Whatcha you do Mikey?!" Raph growls at his little brother

"I didn't do anything I swear!" Mikey puts his hands up defensive

Emma sniffs with tears running down her face "Raph .. I gotta tell you something."

"So Leo told Donnie to keep it a secret." He looks at his little sister after she told him what she overheard earlier. "From us?"

"Uh huh." Emma nods sadly

"I just can't believe it. It sounds like the coolest thing ever. It actually kinda gave me... hope." Mikey sits down. "Like we don't have to be stuck down here forever, you know."

Growling angrily Raph puts Emma on the ground "Who does he think he is?!

"Raph what are you gonna-"

"Stay here Emma!" Raph stomps out of the room "Oooh this isn't good." Emma cringed following him knowing this was gonna lead to a confrontation

"Hold on, hold on! No!" Mikey tried to stop him as Raph jumped down to the main floor and Mikey ran after him, tugging on his arm. "No, wait. Hey, look, if you tell Leo that I told you what Emma told me what Donnie told him that -"

Raph pushed him away as he goes to confront his oldest brother

"We'll never finish our hip-hop Christmas album!" Mikey called after him in a low voice

"Christmas isn't for another four months silly, we've got plenty of time." Emma giggles patting her brother on the head

Raph stopped at the bottom of the centrepiece where Leo was swinging his katanas around training. "Pop quiz," he said, gaining Leo's attention as he stopped what he was doing and looked at Raph. "What are the three most important traits of the ninja?"

Leo was silent for a moment before he turned his head away. "Speed." Raph rolled his eyes as Leo swung his katanas around again. "Stealth. And -"

"Honour," Raph finished. He had stepped right up in Leo's face. "Where's the honour in keeping secrets from your brothers?" he asked Leo. "From your little sister?"

Leo's face scrunched up slightly before he turned away again. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Raph rolled his eyes again. "So now you're adding lying to the list."

Finally, Leo stopped and sheathed one katana. "If you're referring to what Donnie told me about the purple ooze," he sheathed the other katana and faced Raph, jabbing a finger at him, "it's called 'compartmentalisation of information'." Putting his katanas away, Leo moved on to practicing his punches.

"If there's even a chance that ooze can make us human, if there's a chance that Emma could be normal-"

Leo cut him off, "We're turtles, whether you like it or not."

"I'm not just talking about us." Raph growls pointing a finger at Leo making him pause "That little girl goes though enough trauma and nightmares everyday! And your too stupid to see it!" Raph shouts at him "She hates her powers Leo, she's afraid she's gonna hurt somebody! This ooze could actually give her chance at a normal life and you wanna take that away from her?!"

"And it's not about what I like," Raph continued, "it's about what people up there are willing to accept."

"True acceptance only comes from within," Leo countered.

Raph rolled his eyes annoyed. "Don't give me that fortune cookie muck! You should consult with us before you decide to do something like that!"

Leo stopped and faced him. "I consulted Donnie. And we decided that -"

"What about Mikey?" Raph cut him off. "He don't get a vote? And what about Emma? Her opinion don't matter?!" Angrily, he shoved Leo's plastron as Leo took a step back.

"There's only one vote that counts in this family!" Leo said. "Mine!" Leo and Raph glare at each other for what felt like forever before Donnie cut in.

"Leo. Leo, an alarm just tripped at the Hayden Planetarium," he said. "We have to get uptown."

Finally, Leo turned away from Raph. "Gear up, Donnie," he ordered, starting to walk away. "You two stay here." He gave Mikey a shove. "You too Emma."

"Aww why?" Emma whines

"You're benching me?!" Raph hollered after him in disbelief.

"Call it what you want," Leo hollered back.

"What'd I do?" Mikey protested.

"Sorry, guys," Donnie murmured, leaving with Leo

Mikey sighed as the two brothers left the room. "Well, that went well."

"The nerve this guy has!" Raph growled. "Big timing us! He may be fine with the status quo, but that doesn't mean we can't make our own decisions!"

"Wait, what are you saying?" Mikey asked his brother.

"It means there's more where that purple ooze came from. And we're going to get our hands on it."

"Yeah!... I still don't know what you're saying."

Raph groans and leaves.

"Are we... Are we doing something?"

Emma looks back at Raph and Mikey and then back at Donnie and Leo leaving as she frowns determined

If that ooze had the power to turn her normal

Then she was gonna get it no matter what
