A Few Days Later

Ana was working on her own project, after the event of the Hydra spy death Steve and Colleens blood was collected to re-create the super solider and red and white serum. No one apart from Steven, Colleen, Howard and herself knew that she knew the formula, she was the lone survivor with the secret recipe for the solider with such intense skill level.

Her fascination with what the super solider serum could do was over whelming, she was curious about every aspect of it. She played with it like a child with paint. The fascination turned into an obsession, this worried everyone who knew her, she was never obsessed with anything. If she wasn't home, she was in her lab, she was in the New York Library, researching on anything to relate to the serum.

Looking over Howard's blueprint and thinking of her own, together the idea would be remarkable.

"Ana, are you still in here!?!" Howard shouted from the staircase coming down to the laboratory. "Bloody Hell Women," he said, "It's the witchin' hour and you're still looking over the blueprints in drafting" he walked over to Ana.

"Colleen is asking for you, she has some news for you."

Ana ignored him, she has been ignoring nearly everyone, the so called motherly instinct left her the minute she became obsessed by the serum. This wasn't the first-time Colleen asked for her, she requests for Ana twice a day, everyday.

"Come on Ana" he started rolling up the blueprint. "You need a break and Colleen needs you, I need you"

"Fine, I will give it a break if you hear my proposition." She whispered, not wanting any prying ears to hear her idea. "if you mix the chemical formula of this machinery with the super solider serum, a bit of Colleens blood and a claw from a Sabretooth. I... we could have the solider who is brave and loyal at heart, the liberty with the skill of healing many injuries and the spy who is sneaky enough to gain the secrets."

Howard looked at her, she was mental. Not only did she want to create another 'super' human but she needs a Sabretooth claw, which has been extinct since the age of humanity.

"Ana, I think you need to rest. Sabretooth's are extinct, Colleen desperately needs you – I am not letting you start this so called plan until I am happy with your time outside the lab. You need to socialise." He chuckled "who knew I would have to tell this to Miss. Howard-get-out-of-the-bloody-lab."

A smile grew to her lips, she nodded and placed her stuff down, she rolled the blue print up and apologised for being a bit to obsessed. She cleaned up the laboratory and herself and walked up the stairs with Howard. She questioned why it was important for her to talk to Colleen, he didn't know supposable which was obviously a lie.

Colleen had resided in the 'quarantine' area, her brother was shipped off into doing performances to raise money for the Army – he was being the militaries show pony. Colleen on the other hand had been stuck with a Ana who was always in the lab and Howard who was busy with the war.

Ana opened the door to see Colleen packing her bags, Ana was worried, was she leaving because of her? Because she didn't talk or worry over her. Colleen looked to see Ana, she was not in a delighted mood, she frowned at the sight of Ana and it devastated her.

"What are you doing here?" she questioned harshly.

"Howard said you asked for me," she whispered, "said it was urgent"

Colleen looked at her, never has Ana seen Colleen so upset – well upset at her at least.

"It was important 2 hours ago" she snapped.

Ana looked down at the ground, the glare from Colleen was crucifying her mind.

"I was going to ask the women who said only a few days ago would act as my mother" she hissed, "if it would be a great idea to join the 107th infantry as head nurse," she said with her eyes glaring at Ana from across the room. "that would mean exposing my skill and being on the front line to heal the injurie which could lead to my ultimate death." She glared at Ana again. "I agreed as it is obvious" she indicated her packing "I am not wanted, needed or cared for here. Well apart from the butler Mr Jarvis and Howard Stark – not the women I stayed in this all for."

Ana didn't know what to feel, Colleen was the daughter she never had, Colleen was the one that made her feel what her mother felt about herself. Conflicting between being angry and upset at herself and wanting to apologise and beg for forgiveness. Ana knew Colleen was on the verge as tears as hr eyes glossed to a shiny light.

Ana stayed quiet. She just watched as Colleen continued to pack up, Howard yelled to the two that himself Jarvis and his Wife – who surprisingly also called Ana was going out to dinner to celebrate some annual amount of time working with Howard and Jarvis.

"I'm sorry," whispered Ana, on the verge of tears she rushed out her apology "I'm dearly sorry Colleen" her voice was barely a whisper "I am sorry for everything"

Ana looked at Colleen, she was crying

Colleen rushed up to her, hugging Ana as tightly as possible and not wanting to be let go of. Ana thought about how she knitted the chemicals in Colleens blood and all the stress that came with it. Ana patted her head as she cried and hiccupped a few words.

"I missed you," she cried "I was so lost and confused what to do, and I am related to the statue of liberty" she cried "I can't even keep it together for a few days, how will I survive the war" she started stressing and hyperventilating. "Oh my, oh god what have I done. Please say I can get out of this, please, please, please!"

Colleen got up and started walking in circles muttering to herself, Ana hated seeing Colleen in such a venerable state. It was not fair that Colleen has so much waited down on her, before the experiment she was a confident (sometimes shy) nurse with all the degrees to be a qualified nurse. She thought of an idea.

"I will come with you! Colleen as if I will let you go on your own, you must be crazy. I may not be your mother but you are most defiantly the closest daughter I have and I am not losing it to anyone."

"Promise" she whispered.

"You are never fully alone"

Another chapter done, another step closer to the connection of Curiously killed the Cat and Chemical Knitting.
