"Howard!?" Anneliese screamed, running down the stairs to the laboratory reminded how long she had been screaming at him. 3 years. 3 years she has been working for Howard's Stark. 3 years of yelling at him to stop blowing stuff up and 3 years of begging him to change the colour of his kitchen tiles to a marine orange to a gentle green.
"Anneliese, your chemistry set is okay, I just had a miscalculation"
Anneliese loved chemistry, not in the romance of it but the science and facts, Jarvis loved to point out the different between the two of them. She, Anneliese planned, blue printed, test trial and then create while Howard Stark was more into 'IMAGINE. BUILD. RECREATE'. It was in Howard's nature to tease Ana, but altogether he said that to not face the angry german dragon Ana can become in a heart beat. The chemicals in the fridge and heating cabinet are the chemicals Ana was using to find a way to freeze time.
"Let me help you then," Ana walked towards him with his back to me "two hands are better than one" Her head nuzzled into Howard's.
"Because its meant to be a surprise, for you and everyone but I do have some information that Jarvis has seen it." He turns around to smile,
"What hasn't he seen Howard" Ana smirked, he laughed and kissed my head.
Howard and Ana got into a relationship about 4 months ago. The first year, they were simple friends with extra brains. The second year they became good friend, and then it extended to kissing and so on. It was Jarvis who caught the two and they had to fess up, he told Howard it was rude to go around kissing a woman as a one-night stand but doing it for months was inexcusable.
Howard Stark was a playboy, he would bring women to his house near every night until Ana and Howard was getting more committed to one another. When Howard was offered to make more weapons for the army, a General was talking to Ana about the speed Stark Industrials could make the weapons, he wasn't truly a nice man – his opinion of women in the work force wasn't a kind thought. He made horrible jokes, Ana never said anything as her job altogether was to support herself and not to lose her job. Howard still needs to make money for all his housing estate and equipment and materials.
"You be careful – no accidents okay" Ana fumbled over my words, she was worried after all he was using materials without the proper protection.
"Okay Anneliese, go home, rest up. I will send Jarvis to take you home" he kissed her cheek and rushed her out of the laboratory, she walked up stairs.
Ana did not live with Howard, she would be dead if she had to spend more time with him. You can only stand to be with some people for a certain amount of time before you want to murder them, no matter who they are. She lived in her father's old house as she was the one to claim it after his death, in all hopes of going home was taken away from the sudden sight of her knitting on the side table. She grabbed it to find she was a needle short. A pencil would do. She found one in a nick of time and started knitting, she could knit all day, it was the only thing that reminded her of her mother without the lectures she would give her on women rights.
Anneliese looked up to see Howard all covered in ash, she let out a laugh and a shriek at the same time. Howard had a confused face, he tripped over the carpet, Ana let out a loud laugh only to make Howard jump and cause more pain. She helped him up laughing until she gave up to lack of oxygen, Howard pouted at her and cleared his throat. "What are you doing here? I told you to go home Lorenz"
"Last name basis are we Stark?" she smirked
"Just go home Ana"
"Got friends coming over?"
Howard looked irritated, oh well.
"Well yes, got a problem with it?" He scratched his neck
"Well, i just didn't know you had any. Well i got to get going."
Ana attempted to run off to be grabbed by the hand of Howard, he smirked. What was the man think, honestly.
"You wanna met them?"
"i speak no good english" Ana said in a thick german accent
The clock dinged, it was 9:30 and Jarvis was out of service until tomorrow at 6. It was just Howard and Ana, the sight of the to staring at each other would not look romantic in any possible way, a cat staring down its prey was far more romantic then the look the 2 gave each other. Neither knew why they stare at each other with such strange ways, a rhino in love with a yarn of wool. At the thought Ana started laughing, Howard laughed along trying to figure it out before it got awkward.
Ana fell onto the couch and continue to laugh, remembering the time she told Howard to look at Franklin D. Roosevelt with a pink flimsy bikini swimwear. He couldn't look at the president for a week. Howard stared at her expecting her to explain what was her mind thinking.
"Do you really want to know?" she said, "the things that go on in my mind?" Howard ent to speak but he shut it in time "as i thought, well i will be off. Gute Nacht Stark, Gute Nacht" she picked up her yellow yarn, needle and the pencil and walked towards the door with Howard behind her.
He grabbed her fluffy brow coat and brown hat from the door, giving her a quick peck on the cheek, sending her into the dark night he whispered to his self "Good night, Lorenz"
Ana walked down the street, the lights illuminate the dark cold nights, the rush of men and women hushing their newly born sons and daughters and the young party goers to the local club. The war doesn't stop people from celebrating and parting all day, it only increases it. The rushes of the wind against her face, a beat skips every step she takes. taking turns from left and right she arrived to her family home, unlocking the door she passed out on her bed from tiredness. Not from working, not from memories, not from Howard.
But from living.
