Cheers

Ever get transfixed by brand new coins that glisten, gleam and shine,

Whilst older ones, forgotten, rust and dull in sad decline?

I'm like that sparkling older coin, untainted,

I'm like a wall, uncracked, freshly painted,

I'm like that blanket of snow, untouched,

I'm like that cloudless sky, dazzling, the blue dominates it so much.

I'm not saying I'm all innocent and pure,

For I've offended, sinned, done wrong for sure,

But the only suffering I've experienced is my parents making me try parsnip,

Whilst others my age have suffered untold hardship.

But thankfully God, fate, or a higher power has ensured,

That so far, touch wood,

My life has been happy, lucky and good,

And minimal suffering I have endured.

So without further ado, to whoever's listening, whoever hears,

I'd like to say I'm grateful for my privileged life all these years,

Cheers.
