Each day goes by Yugi feels his heart began to break. Everytime when Ruby would come over, she would constantly asked for Yami or mostly spends her whole time talking to Yami in secret. Yugi decided he needed to speak to a good friend.

"I don't know what to think anymore, I mean I still have a crush on Ruby but seeing her hang out with Yami more, it's starting to hurt. I don't know what to do Tea"

Yugi said sadly. Together Yugi and Tea sat on the bench at the park.

"Maybe she was just using you to get close to Yami"

Tea said causing Yugi to sadly look down in shame.

"But I love her"

He said quietly.

"That's why they are called crushes. The best thing that I can suggest is to stay away from Ruby"

She said causing Yugi to look at her in surprise.

"What?"

"Stay away from Ruby, place some distance between each other or just stop being friends"

"But Tea..."

"I'm just trying to help you Yugi, I don't want to see you hurt"

Tea said comfortingly.

"Maybe you're right but it feels wrong to just abandon her like that"

"She's probably not going to notice. After all she is popular and has a lot more friends. I doubt she would notice that we would stop hanging out together"

"What about the school dance?"

"Just tell her that something came up or that you're going with someone else"

She suggested. Yugi let out a sigh as he thought for a moment before smiling.

"Maybe this is for the best, if she wants to be with Yami then who am I to stop her"

"That's the spirit Yugi, now come on let's go to the arcade. I have some serious cheering up to do"

She said causing Yugi to laugh a little.

*Next Few Days*

"Hey Yami"

Ruby said as she entered the store.

"Hey yourself"

He said with a smile before going back to the magazine in his hands.

"By any chance did Yugi go to school today?"

She asked. Yami put the magazine down in concern for Yugi.

"He did. Why do you ask?"

"It's just, these past few days I haven't really seen him. I mean yeah I've seen Joey, Tea, Tristan and Bakura but Yugi is nowhere in sight"

"Have you checked the Library? There at times he likes to be alone or even on the roof"

"The roof! Of course, that's probably it. For a second there, I thought he was hiding to avoid me but silly me"

She said with a smile.

"He's here now if you want to see him"

He offered. Ruby nodded.

"Yes please"

Yami nodded as he called out for Yugi from the inside of the house.

"Yeah?"

Yugi called.

"You have company"

Yami said.

"Who is it?"

Yugi asked coming down the stairs.

"Your cheerleader"

He said as Yugi entered the part of the store and was surprised by an immediate hug. Ruby soon pulled away with a smile.

"I missed you"

She said happily. Yugi smiled slightly at her before turning to Yami.

"Is that what you called me for?"

He asked. Yami and Ruby were surprised by the question. Yami cleared up his throat.

"Don't be like that Yugi, she's your friend, go on and talk to her"

Yami said leaving the couple alone as he went back to the magazine.

"Come on Yugi, I thought we could go shopping for our outfits for the dance"

She said excitedly.

"Maybe another time"

He suggested as he was about to head to the stairs.

"But... you've been avoiding me. Did I do something wrong? I mean it's okay if you want your own space, it's just.... I'm getting lonely without you, after all you are my friend"

Ruby said sadly causing Yugi to stop in his steps.

"You say it as if we're always together. I just met you a few months ago, we're not that close"

He said but Yami heard Yugi loud and clear causing him to look away from the magazine in surprise.

"Yugi"

Yami said in a warning tone. Yugi remained quiet before speaking.

"I have homework to do"

He said before heading up the stairs leaving Ruby behind.

"Ruby, are you okay?"

Yami asked.

"Yeah...yeah I'm fine, it's just that kind of hurt me"

She said with a nervous laugh turning around to face Yami with teary eyes.

"I don't understand if a friend or not Yugi always helps everyone in need"

Yami said.

"Maybe something happen"

He said quietly. Ruby let out a sigh as rubbed her eyes.

"It was nice to see him though. Well bye"

She said just as quietly as she left the store.

*Dinner Time*

"You know Yugi, you didn't have to brush Ruby off like the way you did. She came to hang out with you"

Yami said across the table.

"Oh"

Yugi said simply causing Yami to frown.

"What's the matter, you don't like her anymore?"

He asked. Yugi shrugged his shoulder as he picked on his food. Yami remained quiet as he took a sip of his tea.

"Who's Ruby?"

Grandpa asked sitting between Yugi and Yami.

"It's a fri..."

"No one"

Yugi said cutting Yami off. Yami looked at Yugi in surprise.

"Okay, I get it, you don't like her but you don't have to say it so mean"

Yami said sternly.

"Oh a girlfriend"

Grandpa said proudly.

"Grandpa"

Yugi said with a sigh as he stood up.

"I'm not hungry, I'll be going to bed"

He said quietly as he left.

"So tell me about this girl"

Grandpa asked Yami.

*Night Time*

Ruby began to settle into bed when she received a text from Tea.

Tea: I need you to do something for me

Ruby frowned before responding.

Ruby: Sure. Anything

Tea: Are you alone?

Ruby: Yes

Tea: Listen and listen well. Stay away from Yugi unless you know what's good for you

Ruby: Why are you talking to me like that?

Ruby: Hello?

Ruby: Tea?

Ruby frowned in thought.

'Maybe Tea is just playing around'

She thought before going to bed
