chapter four
I finally had sneaked away from the scene, without a scrape.
But many thoughts had raced around in my mind. This vigilante had known that I was going to be there, or did he?
We didn't know each other, so there was no way.
Clearly, we were both after the same thing.
The file I was holding.
It contained evidence and the vigilante, as far as I know, wants justice for Star City.
At least what I knew from Quentin Lance.
Although, before I had departed from the warehouse, I slipped into something a little 'normal.'
This way there was no suspicion as I had driven away. I wore a black leather jacket and tight leggings and sped off back to my home.
Taking my helmet off, I grabbed out my keys and and small backpack, parking my motorbike on the grass on my lawn.
Strolling up to my door, I jiggle my key into the lock and turn it anticlockwise. I push the door open and run inside.
Tossing my keys onto the table, I unzip my black leather jacket and step down into the basement. I turn on the light to reveal a room filled with trophies from previous cases.
I throw my bag to the side and open a draw, pulling out a red pen, photos, pins and sticky notes.
These were specific to this case.
I had photos of each suspect and victim including their alibis. Or at least something for each of them. Amy scrap of information would work for me. Even a grain of mud would give me something to work on.
I place the file on my desk and take a deep breath. My heart pounded as I move my hand towards the file to open it. My hands touched the corner, but before I could pull it open, I hear a knock on the door.
I jerk back with surprise.
"Holy!" I rush up the stairs and close the basement door. The knocking continued. "Yes, yes! I'm coming!" I pull open the front door and drop my mouth open slightly in shock.
In front of me stood Oliver Queen.
The world's pretty boy. He looked kinda nervous.
"H-hi." I give him a smile.
"Hi. What are you doing here?" He licks his lips and chuckles.
"Well, I sorta wanna... just apologise for my behaviour-"
"No that's fine. I guess you're not use to being turned down eh?" He smirks.
"I guess so." Then I frown.
"How did you get my address Mr Queen?"
"I asked a detective I knew. And please call me Oliver. Mr Queen was... my father..." Oliver drops his face a little and I saw that he didn't want to show me any pain he had felt.
"Hey... Oliver then... Come in." He gives me a warm smiles and steps into my home. I close the door behind me and he walks into my living room. "Do you want a beer or something?" I asked him.
"No, no, I'm okay." I nod and take a seat next to him.
It was sort of awkward just talking to him, and since he flirted with me.
Oliver moved his hand towards me, but my quick reflexes grabbed his arm and he held onto mine. We both reacted swiftly and began to breath heavily.
"Wow, you have some good moves." I comment.
"As do you Detective." We unraveled from each other and sat back down firmly. "So, I... Well, Laurel told me that you're working on a case, his that going?" Lifting an eyebrow, I looked at him sternly.
"You know I can't discuss cases Oliver." He diverted his gaze for a minute and then I was suspicious.
I was now more alert than I was.
"I know, but... never mind." Standing, I place my arms to my side and gester to Oliver.
"If you don't mind, I think you should leave." Oliver also stands up and walks himself to the door.
"See you later detective." The front door closes and I sigh. I slightly regretted what I did, but I had to trust my instincts.
Then, I had made my way back to the basement and resumed to open the file. I pulled it open and begin skim read through it.
"Son of a bitch!" I cry out and bang my hand against the table.
Sean had been secretly purchasing weapons for his little crew.
All night I added notes to my board and did research. And then the next day I had to pass this to Laurel.
I strolled into her building and made my way up to her desk, but I paused for a moment. A certain pretty boy was taking to her and she was holding a file also.
"Detective!" She called and I make my way over. "Nice to see you." I smile.
"Me too and please, it's Luna." I inhale sharply. " I have a file you should see." She took the file from me and opened it.
However, something looked as if it was wrong.
"Hang on, you and Ollie have the same file." A crease formed between my eyebrows. Me and Laurel stared at Oliver.
"Well... I... erm..." He looked at me.
"We did this one together. And... got a bit mixed up." Laurel nodded.
"Oh okay. Well, I'll look this over. Thank you both. I'll guess I'll get back to you Detective." I bow and walk away, huffing.
"Wait, wait!" Oliver tapped me on the shoulder and came to my side. "Thank you for saving me, you know."
"Oliver, where did you get that file?"
"I was just trying to hel-" I put my hand up and he stops talking.
"You shouldn't be trying to help. This case is dangerous. Leave the evidence to the detectives and police. Stay out of it Oliver."
He sighs heavily and nods.
I turn my back on him, making my way to the door.
Still, I was suspicious, but I had to stay focussed on the case, so next I had to dig deeper.
Next, I had to to go back to the drawing board and maybe infiltrate Sean's home, hoping to find Sean.
