Shruti had never been so helpless, she never felt so much burden on her heart, she wanted to run away, or disappear somewhere where no one would be able to find her. But she knew there was no way out, she looked at the shiny floor of auditorium, which reflected only Uncle's shadow, who was still holding that pendant to keep Sameer down. She opened her mouth to speak but was distracted by auditorium door slamming open. Everyone turned towards the entrance to see who was there! It was Monika.

Monika was horrified, by looking at all the mess which was created through previous actions. She took time to recognize Sameer, but was deeply shocked by looking at him. She went near uncle and asked only one question, though her mind was flooded with many questions, "Uncle! What's going on? Please tell me!"

Shruti's spoke suddenly,"No! Uncle please, not in front of her, please tell her to go."

Uncle spoke immediately, "Shruti! She deserves to know the truth, in fact she is the one who needs to know the whole thing. You can't deny from this. She helped you through this, she was with you, took care of you."

He turned towards Monika, "Monika, Shruti wants to tell us something."

Shruti was sobbing profusely, guilt had overcome her mind. She confessed, "Monika, I am so sorry, I know I have done some things I was not supposed to do, which only deserved punishment."

Monika said, "Shruti! Why you are sorry?"

Shruti cut her off, "No Monika, let me speak, I admit that I have been lying to you. I remember everything, since the day I had made made biryani in the memory of Rahul. All the memories were crystal clear, I could also remember our sleepovers at my home Monika. I am ashamed of myself Mona, please will you forgive me?"

Monika stood still, her eyes were full of tears, as her heart couldn't resist the betrayal from her dear friend. She stood there weeping. Uncle immediately reached out to her, consoling her.

Shruti couldn't contain her tears as well, she sobbed, and looked at Sameer, who was still looking at her coldly with absolute hatred. She continued, "Monika, I don't know, if I could ever repay you, you have done so much for me. I could have told you the truth, but I was afraid, of losing my best friend. Besides, I needed someone who could understand me, and it was you Mona, who took care of me like a big sister. I am forever in debt of you."

"Afraid, really! Why? And just stop saying that. I want to know the truth, about everything! What happened between you and him?" Monika pointed towards Sameer. Shruti looked again at the shiny floor and began to tell their dark past....

FLASHBACK:-

During their college days, before Shruti got elected as General Secretary of the Students Council, she had made many friends, including Monika and Sameer. Their friendship was predictable as he defeated her in chess championship, but their friendship took a worst turn when Sameer admitted to her that he loves her. Shruti was reluctant at first, but then she told him nicely, that she doesn't consider him beyond friend. It was just like she had confined him to friend zone.

Sameer, then began following her everywhere, he wouldn't leave her alone. One day Shruti confronted him about his behavior, as rumors had started taking their places in the other student groups. Shruti told him to stay away from her as it would damage her reputation, their discussion slowly fuelled into a heated argument, which led to her slapping him. He was shocked at this and left immediately. Shruti also felt very guilty after that incident. However, they eventually cleared the things out and decided to remain good friends.

Then Rahul entered Shruti's life and her life changed. Sameer, was obviously jealous of Rahul, so he would constantly ignore him, and never used to talk to him. He used to show that he's happy for her, but from inside his heart burned.

One day, they were playing a game of Truth and Dare, where it was Sameer's turn to choose Truth or Dare. He chose truth, where the question asked was, 'To whom, he would like to lose his virginity?", at first he refused to answer, but then was provoked by other friends to answer. He finally answered by taking Shruti's name. Everyone stopped their giggling and howling, everyone got shocked and Rahul became enraged which led to a huge fight between him and Sameer. That fight permanently scarred their friendship.

Sameer was troubled by Rahul on several occasions, may it be ragging or other petty issues. Sometimes, even Shruti was present during the harassment of Sameer. Rahul wouldn't leave any chance to trouble Sameer. But Sameer, showed up unaffected each time. But only he knew what it was doing to him. His health gradually deteriorated, the way Rahul and Shruti tortured him drove him crazy. His personality had changed completely. He was shattered.

At that time, Rohit was his best friend, and any person naturally opens his mind to his/her best friend. Rohit was quite aware of Sameer's liking towards Shruti. But instead of helping him at the time of his depression, Rohit ignored him completely. It is said correctly, that there are no permanent friends.

Monika was not present on that particular day, so she didn't knew about all this, and other kept quiet not bringing up that topic again.

When Shruti and Rahul's engagement was fixed, Sameer was devastated, he was very upset, he went to Shruti's house that day, other friends were also present at her house, it seemed like a party was going on. Shruti had not invited him to the party. He demanded to talk to her only once, to which she agreed.

He told her that he was moving out if the city to his Uncle's place. Everyone knew his uncle as a well known police officer. Sameer just wanted to tell her one last time, that he still loves her, no matter whatever happens. Shruti forgave him and  insisted him to  attend her wedding.

This was all heard by her friends, and this news spread like a wildfire. Everyone was talking about them, Shruti felt so humiliated, that in a fit of rage she slapped Sameer in front of everyone who were present there and threw her wedding invitation card on his face. Sameer was so shocked and terribly hurt by all this, humiliated he left from there. Shruti then told everyone to keep this from Rahul, as she didn't want to raise more problems.

Although Sameer attended their wedding, but left shortly after giving them all his best wishes. Shruti wanted to apologise him for her actions, she surely felt guilty at that time also, she tried to talk to him but didn't got chance. She felt very bad as she had lost a very good friend like Sameer. He didn't even eat their wedding food.

After that day, Shruti  never saw Sameer until their wedding night, where Rahul was murdered rather beheaded...by Sameer's ghost...

PRESENT:-

Shruti had now stopped crying, she felt herself going numb again. After telling her past, she looked at Monika and Uncle.

Monika was still sobbing, she turned towards Sameer and said, "Sameer! I feel so sorry for you. I didn't knew any of these things, if I had known earlier then I could have never helped her. I thought of her as my younger sister, but I feel betrayed."

Shruti's eyes were swollen from crying. She composed herself and stood up, she felt pain in her leg but managed to walk towards them saying, "Uncle! I admit, that we did wrong to him, but he took away someone whom I loved more than my life, but do he really deserve all the sympathy after what he has done."

Uncle said calmly, "Shruti, only God gets to decide that, we have known your point of view, but we have to give him equal chance. We need to hear him out, we can't just conclude in here. This case is not that easy as it looks. Every coin has two sides. We saw only one side."

Monika stepped away from Shruti saying, "Don't come near me. I've had this enough. I couldn't even imagine thus, that my best friend kept things from me, and even lied to me. I don't want to talk to you."

Uncle dropped the pendent from his hand and Sameer rose to his feet. Monika backed off a little, to which uncle said, "Don't worry, he won't do anything. His powers are deactivated for some time."

Uncle spoke to Sameer, "Sameer! Now we want you to tell us everything. I know, you have suffered a lot of things, I know death is unacceptable for many people. You know, why? because, death is inevitable. No one has ever heard you, but I am giving you a chance to express yourself. We want to know, how did this Sameer turned into Red Faced Man?."
