Chapter 8: Hearts...
Levi's POV
"Ready?" Erwin calls out to me, looking at me. Eren was standing next to his father, shuffling his feet a bit. I could see it in his eyes- Erwin made him uncomfortable. When it was me, he was so open- Hanji and I were treated as his best of friends. I shook my head and felt myself panting gently. "Levi?"
"Yeah... yeah, I'm good." I then cleared my throat, feeling the small outline of the box in my pocket. I was gonna finally confess to her- confess the truth about me. "She's coming now?"
"Of course. Damn, I wish I can see her now."
"She's your wife..." I growled gently, staring at him. "What do you mean by that?"
Erwin chuckles, staring at the door of the grand room. "She was being fitted for a new dress... and I haven't seen it yet. I bet she'll look grand in it...
I waited a bit more, taking Eren around and ensuring he wouldn't pass out on all the sweet food around. Soon, I saw Hanji walk in- and I just... fell more in love with her. How her hair was flowing down her back in such a way that it kept that messy aspect. Her glasses were the same, but for some reason, made her eyes sparkle even more. Her dress was a ruby red dress with different shades of red sparkling near the foot of her dress. Her heels clicked with her 3-inch high heels. On her beautiful, soft neck of hers, she wore a silver necklace with a moon-drop diamond in the center. One look of her...
"Welcome to the party, my dear..." Erwin says, taking her hand and kissing it- and it enraged me. I watched him kiss from her hand up her arm and onto her red-tinted lips. How he pushes against her- I couldn't take it.
"Levi... is everything okay?" Eren was tugging on my hand, seeing me with a bit of worry. He was a 4 year old child that wouldn't understand.
All I could do was smile and nod my head. "Yeah, everything's fine, Eren. Nothing's wrong." I chuckled softly, looking over to the chocolate fountain. "How about... some strawberries and chocolate?"
"Yay!"

I don't know how long it has been until Erwin clinked his glass. Eren and I turned up from the desserts and saw Hanji standing next to him. The crowd fell silent as Erwin slowly began to speak.
"Thank you all for coming. As we all know, this is our anniversary... it's a special day for all of us. It's not even the day of being married- even though I said it." A nervous chuckle ran throughout the crowd. "Honestly, this is the day when I proposed to her and had her lovely self in my life forevermore. And Hanji... I loved you every step of the way."
I growled after hearing his reason- of course it was this day. Damn it... why am I remembering all of this stuff?! My heart...
"Levi, care to say something to the crowd?"
Silent fell among everyone as I was put onto the spot. Gulping down, I almost shivered and slowly began to speak. "W-Well... Hanji... being my best friend in college... I'm glad that I met her." My nervousness then faded away, and I started to talk about the truth- only in small bits. "I remember we met during our English class- and she would always talk to me. No matter what, she always talked to me. Always made me open up." I watched her smile gently, knowing it was so true. "One time... she invited me over to this science class- and I just... I don't know, but enjoyed seeing her doing something she loved. From that day forth, I knew she wanted to go onto this path of science. It led her here- experimenting different ways to keep a company going." I was about to speak again before Erwin ended my speech quickly and I never had a chance to properly end it.
"Enjoy the party!" He shouts.
"Was he mean, Levi? Daddy, I mean." I looked down to Eren, seeing him tilt his head in confusion. Man, he was so innocent. "Was he being mean?"
I chuckled and nuzzled my nose into him. "Of course he was. He doesn't like me very much, now does he?"
"No... no he doesn't..."
"I'm gonna speak to your mom in private- is it alright if I can go to her while you can stay near your father?" I didn't even get to finish my sentence when I saw that face of disapproval. He hated his father- "Don't worry, when I come back, we can hang out the whole night."
"Eating chocolate?"
The younger you are, the more optimistic you are to sweets- especially chocolate to this boy. "As much as we can allow you." Eren nods in agreement, scooting off to his father. With that, I quickly made my way to Hanji, and pulling her into the nearest open room.

Hanji's POV
"Gah! Levi..." I blushed when he pulled me into the room. My cheeks grew warm and I rubbed my stomach when I saw him panting softly. There was no way...
"Hanji, I have a confession to make." He quickly says, taking my hands. His cold, soft hands held mine and he stared back at me with those silver-like eyes. I was mesmerized- no other eyes could be like that. "Will you accept what I'm gonna say?"
"Just tell me already and enough of the teasing."
Levi sighed, looking down. "Listen... I... that night..."
We both jumped when Miche bashed in and pulled the both of us out. Erwin walked over and Eren wasn't close to him. "Miche? What's going on?" He asks as he steps towards us.
Miche grunted gently, looking at me in a threatening way. "I have my suspicions of those two... if they have something to talk about in private- let us hear it now."
"Levi?" Erwin gazed at me and Hanji. I would lose it... "Explain it."
My eyes looked back to Hanji, feeling so warm about it- but I denied saying another word. How could I show the ring I kept for so many years to everyone and embarrass my lover? I would never do that. So then, I just stared Erwin down.
"Levi, explain yourself." Silence. "Jeez... stubborn way too much." He growls gently to me before turning to the crowd. "Sorry for that- thank you all for coming for the most wonderful anniversary. We all know it was a special day for all of us- a mark to a new beginning! With our first born son- we're expecting another one soon."
Erwin mentioned about my kid as his- but I didn't mind. Hanji and I knew the truth about who's the truth father of the baby- and it was me. But what really got to me was how he emphasized on how it was a special day. He was right- it was a special day. But wasn't full of joy- just pure heartbreak.
I don't know what happened, but I lost every control and started to yell at him. "It wasn't a special day for everyone!" I growled, watching him stare at me. I could feel Hanji's hands hitting me to stop- but I completely ignored her advances. "I swear, I feel you were the only one who was overjoyed 10 years ago!"
"Levi! What is with you?!" Erwin growls, running towards me and pushing me a bit. I felt the box budge a bit, but hasn't fallen out yet. "What is wrong with you?"
"Don't treat me like a child."
"Start acting like an adult. You were happy Hanji was getting married-"
Without myself thinking straight, I pushed him with both hands and watched him lose his balance. Growls kept coming out of me, "I was happy for her- yes. But I wasn't happy for you."
"Levi..." Erwin grunts as he gets up, looking at me crazy. "What are you on about-"
"You say that everyone was happy- I wasn't. You want to know why? Why I hate you? Why I hate your damn guts every damn day?!" Help... "I wanted to marry her! I was gonna do it that single night! But you ruined it... ruined it all." I turned to Hanji, fueled with rage and silently wept tears. My hands pulled out the velvet box, and held it so she could see it. "Hanji, I remembered everything perfectly... the way you wanted to be proposed... all perfect.. and ruined by Erwin..."
"Levi..." I hear Hanji's sweet voice coming through, just shocked at me.
"Just take it, Hanji... I have no use for it anymore. I quit." I then threw the ring in her general direction- watching it slide across the ground. "I'm done..."
Murmurs were everywhere as I passed them- but I didn't care. Things didn't work out the way it was, and I don't care... not anymore. I told her the truth- I wanted to propose to her that night... that's all that matters. The weight in my heart was lifted...

Hanji's POV
"Hanji! Don't touch it!" Erwin shouts to me as I picked up the box that Levi threw. He already walked away, and I ignored Erwin's request.
Slowly, I opened the box, and the glimmering stars in the diamond surprised me. Instinctively, my hand went to my mouth to cover my surprise. On the lid was Levi's handwriting- a small list of things I loved. Things I told him I always wanted. For example, where and how I wanted to be proposed, my future children, my future goals. I never had them come true... and Levi was trying his best to make them come true.
"Levi..."
