Chapter 12: Dreams

Hanji's POV

"I'm still worrying for Eren..." I whisper to Levi as he takes us to this nice and fancy place. "And Iris- are you sure Isabel got them?"

He nods and chuckles softly, kissing me softly. His gray eyes sparkled softly when he kissed me- I knew it very well... that it was the same spark from so long ago. "I'm sure- listen, Farlan's with her. Knowing Isabel, she's gonna be such a joy to Eren- and Eren's gonna protect Iris, so yes. Don't worry- this is our night..."

"But Levi-"

He kisses me again, but I guess that's the best way to keep my quiet. We had to stop kissing by the time we had to order drinks and appetizers. The evening went... relatively well. I had some iced coffee and Levi had his famous black tea. We didn't order any appetizers, because Levi and I wanted some dessert.

For dinner, I had a shrimp pasta and Levi had some chicken fettuccine. We talked for about an hour and ate the whole dish. We waited for another 10 minutes before Levi ordered a small slice of chocolate cake. With that, we ate it together and paid the bill. He was a gentleman and didn't let me see the total amount of money that we spent.

He told me it was alright to take a nap in the car, and I did so. Sleeping soundly in the warm car against the winter's icy breath. Levi played soft music- the soft rock music- rocked me to sleep. I couldn't tell how long I was asleep, but Levi woke me up.

"Psst, get up." I murmured some weird words, I couldn't even make out what I said. I shuffled and my eyes were blurred. "Hanji, we're here..."

"Oh sweet home..." My eyes were still a bit blurred and I opened the door. The rush of the cold air swept me off my feet. My feet reached the road, and my eyes started to clear up. "Levi... where are we?"

I hear his footsteps walking around towards me; I jumped when I felt his touch on my hips. "Let's take a walk."

"Aren't you forgetting something, Levi? Iris, Eren, Isabel, Farlan- ring a bell?"

His hands drifted down to my hand and started to take me away. Levi held me tightly and never letting me go. His soft chuckles were of course soft. A hint of mischievousness in it, but it didn't seem to startle me. "Don't worry- this is part of our date."

Levi started to walk me down into this park that I wasn't familiar. The cold wind blew with winter's warning, and the full moon was shining down on us. Frost began to grow on the grass, plants, and flowers. As we walked on the sidewalk, you could see your own footprints- just barely.

The lake glistened a bit as frost slowly crawled over the steady water- a clear reflection of the moon were still on the water. I smiled gently, remembering this scene. "Looks familiar?"

"Not exactly... but this scenario seems familiar."

"Good."

Across the lake, there was a long bridge. Frost were taking over that place like it was nothing. Levi gripped my hand tightly and walked me halfway through. Stopping almost dead center, Levi turned around and knelt on the frosted wood. His eyes looked at me- and I saw the moon in his beautiful eyes. I knew exactly what was going on.

"I remember how you wanted to be proposed... and I brought it to life."

"Levi..."

"Before winter comes and snow ruins our stuff, I had to propose to you know. Hanji... I love you- and there's nothing I won't do for you, for Eren, for Iris. You are my life; without you, I feel broken and misplaced. So please... let's stay together for the rest of our lives, Hanji." In the middle of his speech, he pulled out that velvet box. I gave it back to him the day I moved in with him. I told him I didn't want to hold onto that ring- I wanted him to put it to good use. "Will you marry me?"

"Levi..." I felt a small tear fall onto my cheek, stinging me with freezing pain.  "Aren't you afraid that I'll cheat on you? I cheated on my previous husband and-"

"Hanji, I know you- you won't cheat on me. You hated Erwin and your relationship- if we both loved each other like this, there's no fear at all."

"Then... yes, I'll marry you..."

I felt him slip the cold ring onto my finger- oh, how it glistened in the moonlight. It was so joyful to be worn on someone's finger- a symbol of my love for him... I will marry Levi a thousand times if it meant to be with him forever.
