"Marinette, I have to tell you something..." Chat's words were edgy and dark.
"What is it, Chat?" Marinette asked, blandly.
"Let me show you my true identity." He was stern and cold.
"Chat, you can't-"
"Please, Marinette!"
She was stunned. "I'm sorry, Chat but I can't let you do that..."
Chat's head sank. He turned from her. "Marinette, I'm leaving Paris in 3 days and I don't have the slightest idea when I'll be back."
Marintte's eyes welled with tears.
"It's been five years, Marinette," he began, "if I can't trust you, who can I trust?"
She was silent. The waterfalls along her face began to thicken. She rushed to him, spun him around to face her, and slapped him across the face, leaving a bright red hand print.
"Don't do that! I'm not thirteen anymore! I'm eighteen years old! I will not fall for your guilt trips, Chat!" she scolded.
"Marinette, I..." His voice trailed. Suddenly, he grabbed one side of her hips and the opposite side of her face and desperately pulled her in for a kiss.
After a long silence, they parted. He looked deep into her bluebell eyes.
"Marinette, I...I love you."
Marinette's face went rosey red. She was astonished.
"Chat, I..." She felt the same way, but could never verbally express it.
She began to force herself onto him.
"Marinette, are you sure about this?" He was hesitant. "This could cause a huge scandel."
"I'm willing to take that gamble."
