Chapter 3 SnakeNoir Refuses to Give Up
SnakeNoir's POV
Suddenly she was gone again.
"You might as well give up because you will never succeed."
"What makes you so sure?"
"In the end, the villains always win."
Snakenoir used some karate action movies.
He thought about how to outwit the crooks.
There is no way those two are going down without a fight.
He felt some things did not line up.
For example, how did Marinette free the akuma when she was not a hero?
Yet, she felt like one somehow.
His cat senses and snake ones combined told him to be on the lookout for anything out of the ordinary.
So far, everything seemed out of place.
Was it because he decided to mess with time?
"Hey, snakenoir!"
He spun around at the mention of his name.
His jaw dropped.
It was someone with a dragon and fox combination outfit.
Someone who looked like someone he knew. Was it possible?
"Hey, if you want to save Marinette, you better get going."
Who was this person, and why did her voice sound familiar?
"Who are you?"
"Sorry, but I promised Bunnix I would not tell. My identity must remain a secret."
He felt like da ja vu was happening at that moment.
"Sure thing, Dragafox or whatever it is you call yourself."
"It is DragonFox."
Snakenoir kept his cool. He had to save Marinette from the clutches of the bad guys.
"Okay, Dragonfox, then promise you will be careful."
"Snakenoir, you both know we should not make a promise we can't keep."
Snakenoir was speechless. Who was this mysterious girl? Where had she come from and how did she end up with two miraculous? He thought Hawkmoth had all the rest except for the ladybug, cat, rabbit, and snake ones.
He supposed there must be some trick up her sleeves. He had not the foggiest idea what though or what it had to do with rescuing Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
He followed her lead as he was used to this with Ladybug. Strange he had thought of her twice today.
Where was that bug? Why had not she kept Marinette safe? Was it her job to insure the safety of Paris citizens?
Snakenoir, watched as Dragonfox touched a wall. He gulped when it parted open. He stepped inside.
"Watcha doing? Stop standing there drooling and help me."
Snakenoir shook his head. It seemed she had thought of everything. He hoped he had not run into a trap trusting her.
"Tsk, tsk, give up yet?"
He looked up to see a bad guy.
The dude had Marinette trapped inside a bottle. He had no idea how she fit inside it.
"Help! Help me, Snakenoir!"
The bad person scoffed. He mocked her then mocked Snakenoir and Dragonfox.
"Look ladydragonfox and snakenoir came to rescue the damsel in distress. Too bad her time is almost up."
Snakenoir slid the watch once more. He said "Second chance do not fail me now," as he did so. He hoped this gave him a headstart.
He felt someone shove him out of the way of the bullet. "No!" He screamed as Dragonfox was hit.
"Save Marinette, do not worry about me. " She spat out along with some blood.
"I can not leave you in this condition."
"You can and you will. You must not fail the mission."
"Mission?"
"Yes, now grab Marinette and run as fast as you can. You must get out of here Snakenoir."
Snakenoir ran towards the bottle. He catcylsmed it. He saw it bust and Marinette came out unhurt. He untied the ropes that held her hands together, then the ones around her feet.
He did as the other hero passed out. He felt bad about his helper, but what more could he do?
He had no choice. He couldn't possibly save them both, or could he?
Snakenoir and Marinette made it out. The cave blew up shortly afterward.
Marinette cried. "Alya she is gone. My best friend is dead."
"What do you mean?"
"She is...dead."
Snakenoir looked at Marinette in horror. The realization that her best friend must have been a dragon fox. He felt guilty at how sad Marinette looked at that moment.
"Second chance...let me save my Marinette and let me save dragon fox too."
"He slid the watch twice this time."
Time stood still.
Too still to suit him.
Suddenly, he heard laughter. He looked up.
Marinette was in chains. Lady Fox was in the bottle this time.
He stood by helpless to do a thing.
Somehow a thief had taken the miraculous. Not one, but both.
Great, was this what happened? Was it his mistake that would cost them all their lives?
