Chapter 8: He's In Love

Y/N's POV:

The night sky brought out yellow fire flies and quieted the whisper of the running pool. Chat Noir had fallen asleep after I saw that Chat Blanc was defeated. I had built a fire and I had dragged him near it, keeping a look out for any trouble. So far, there was nothing. I know I had healed miraculously from my fall. But Chat was really hurt. Like, super hurt. I glanced his way and he shivered. A deeper crack ran through my heart and I moved closer to him, leaning over on him and listening to him breathing. "I'm sorry, Chat," I whispered. His side heaved up and down and he pulled his legs to his chest, sleepily. I turned my head to the sky, the heat of the fire a little overwhelming for my eyes.
The stars blinked and twinkled at me while giving me no advice on what to do. I had found some of the bandages that chat and I had brought with us, but it wasn't too much for me to cover all of his wounds. I tried not to let the guilt overwhelm me. "Do you ever have to worry about normal life, Chat?" I whispered.
Silence and the blinking of the stars was my only reply. I didn't expect him to reply anyways. I turned my head back to the fire. It flickered in the dark, the fireflies were like the embers that flashed as they flew up and disappeared into the night.
I sit up and looked back at his rising and falling shoulder blades. So lean... So fit...
I looked away fast as I felt my face swell up with heat. I glanced back at him again. What does he do to stay this way? I crawled around to see his chest. He looked peaceful despite the white bandage on his face.
I knew what I was thinking... And it was a bad idea. A devilishly, disastrous idea. But it was such a sweet and beautiful idea. I just couldn't resist.

Chat Noir/ Adrien's POV: (REALLY REALLY SHORT!!)

The stinging under my eye made me wake up, finding that I was holding something warm in my arms. My first instinct was that it was Ladybug. I smiled and saw that it was still night, so I held her closer and let the darkness and the crackling of the flames guide me back to my sleep.

Y/N's POV:

I woke up the next morning, wrapped in Chat's arms. I glanced back at him to see if he was awake. Nope. He was still out cold. I grinned a littler and snuggled closer to him. "I... I love you, Chat," I whispered. Those four words now meant the world to me. They were like my own little secret. The dawn light speckled through the tree's leaves. Suppose I have to get up and look for food, hmm... I sat up and I thought about what I could find. I stood up and brushed off my clothes.
I started walking into the forest, obviously, not too far away in case if Chat woke up. I breathed in the deep forest smell. My stomach suddenly started to growl. I didn't remember the last time I ate. Hmm... My mouth started to water as I spied some dark blue berries. Blue berries! Oh my god! I ran forward and started picking handfuls of them.
Then I walked back to camp. The sun was still climbing into the light blue sky. (A/n: I just read through this whole POV... It sounded really stupid.) And Chat was still asleep, but he had rolled over on his back, his palms were facing the sky. I smiled and rolled my eyes, still plucking berries from my hand. "Hey, Chat," I said, coming over and sitting next to him. It was getting pretty lonely without him talking to me all the time. But what else could I do? I couldn't wake him up, and that's the part that I was agitated about.
I sighed and glanced over at the fire. It was still smoking and smoldering, orange coals flickering under the smoke. "Alright," I said to myself, "I'll wait for you to wake up, Chat."

Chat Noir/Adrien's POV:

I breathed in deeply and sighed out, feeling the heat of the sun on my chest. I blinked almost unconsciously at the bright sky above. All of my limbs were numb. I breathed in heavily and felt something heavy on my chest. My right arm was just starting to wake up, so I slowly pulled it up to my chest and felt another hand on my chest. But it wasn't mine. On my collarbone laid a head, and I could feel a breathing body against my ribs. I smiled a small smile and curled my arm around the warmth.
"Y/N..?" I whispered, my voice dry. Y/N's head slowly raised up and she glanced up at me, her face blank before smiling.
"Hey, Chat," she whispered back, giggling. So cute... A small beeping noise sounded from my hand and I felt my body go from warm to cold.
"Y/N... My... My miraculous... Please, don't look," I pleaded, coughing a little.
"I won't look, Chat," she replied smoothly and calmly. "I promise." Green lighting flashed over me and my black leather suit vanished. Y/N huddled closer to me as the lightning ran up my body. Plagg tumbled out and into the world. I sighed and let my head relax.
"Jeez, that was a long time," Plagg yawned. He zipped over my head. "Where's the Camembert?" I rolled my eyes and closed them quickly.
"Y/N? How long was... Was I out?" I asked, coughing again.
"Two days," she answered softly. I wanted to jolt up suddenly, but I was still numb from the neck down, except for my arms. "Are you still in pain?"
"Not really, I'm pretty much numb," I rasped. Y/N sat up and I flashed my eyes open, worried that she'd see who I was. But her eyes were shut and she smiled so innocently. "Do you need water? Your voice sounds very dry."
I thought for a moment before nodding. "Sure. Be careful," I said, grasping her hand that was next to mine.
"I will, silly kitty," she said. She stood up and I felt my hand drag away from hers as she walked away. She didn't look back at me, and I didn't call her back. It quiet that moment, except for the sound of birds around us. It was like a beautiful moment in a movie or a romance novel.

"Where's the cheese!?" Plagg yelled. I jumped a little, but with my body numb, it just looked like my head and arms just decided to have heir own little spasm party.
"Jeez, Plagg!" I whisper shouted. "Not right now!"
"But I'm hungry. And I want food. NOW." My kwami folded his small black arms and hovered next to my face, his green eyes narrowed at me.
"You'll get food later," I said. Then and idea popped into my head.
"Now."
"Later."
"Now!"
"Later!"
"Now!"
"Now!"
"Later!"
"Now."
"LATER!"
"Alright," I said, smiling. "Later it is." Plagg stared at me for a moment, dumb founded at first before folding down his ears and pouting. I laughed to myself for a little while.
"You're ass just got Looney Tuned."
