A/N: I know Lila really sucks, but isn't that just the cutest picture of Volpina? <3

After school, Adrien asked you to go to the park with him to meet Lila. Initially you were going to go straight home, but he had told you he didn't want to be alone with Lila.

The both of you found a bench in the park and began chatting with each other while you waited for Lila. "I just want to do something really nice for Chat Noir. I think he really deserves it," you were telling him as Lila walked up to you.

"Oh hi!" You could tell she was disappointed to see you, but she didn't want to make it obvious because of how obviously protective of you Adrien was. 

"Hey!" Adrien called back. "So, do you really know Ladybug?" You weren't sure if Adrien was really that gullible, or if he was playing an angle. Your heart dropped at the thought that he might be in love with Ladybug the way you were with Chat Noir. 

Lila nodded cheekily, squeezing herself onto the bench between the two of you. You scooted over thoughtlessly, regretting it almost immediately. "Not only did Ladybug save my life, we've become very close friends because we have something very special in common- it's what I wanted to tell you about." Lila reached into her pocket and pulled out a fox-tailed necklace. "I'm the descendant of a vixen superheroine myself, Volpina."

You gasped. "Is that a--?" You cut yourself off. You knew a Miraculous wasn't safe with Lila. You would need to get ahold of it without letting either of them know what was going on. 

"Wait a minute! I think I read about her in my book." Adrien reached into his bag, but Lila stopped him by grabbing his hand.

"Of course she's in your book. She's one of the most important superheroes. More powerful and more celebrated than Ladybug." She held her head a bit higher, smirking slyly. "Between you and me Ladybug doesn't even make the top ten."

"Can I look at it?" you asked Lila. 

"Of course!" she replied happily. Handing you the necklace. You took it and examined it closely. 

Just as you had grabbed the necklace, Ladybug landed in front of the three of you. 

"Well, hey Lila!" Ladybug drawled out, put her hands on her hips and propping a leg up on her bench. She leaned over Lila, glaring down at her. "How's it going? Long time no see. I saw your interview on the Ladyblog, awesome job." Lila bowed her head down in embarrassment. "Oh sure! I remember our instant connection when I saved your life and we've been really good friends ever since! Practically BFF's! Uh actually, when did I save your life again, Lila? I don't recall. Oh yes! Of course, now I remember. Never! And we're not friends either!" Ladybug turned to Adrien and added on, "Miss Show-Off here was trying to impress you and everyone around her."

You sighed heavily, holding up the necklace to Lila. "So I guess you aren't the descendant of a superhero and this isn't actually a Miraculous." You felt a bit bad for her. You knew you would have been completely mortified if you had been embarrassed like that in front of Chat Noir. 

Lila stood up and wiped a tear from her eye. She let out a choked sob and turned to Ladybug. "How dare you!?" Lila grabbed her bag off the bench  and the necklace from your hand and ran off towards the school.

"Hey, what was that all about?" Adrien snapped, standing up. 

Ladybug glared at Adrien for a moment, before her face softened. "I...I don't put up with lies, especially when they're about me." Her eyes glided Adrien's body once before throwing her yo-yo and taking off toward a building. 

You turned back to Adrien with wide eyes, unable to believe what was actually happening. "I-I think Ladybug has a little crush on you," you said after a long moment of silence. He frowned in confusion. "I just mean, why else would she embarrass Lila like that?"

When you arrived home, you went up to your room to shower off, but when you arrived to your room you caught a glimpse of a red streak out of the corner of your eye. You ran over to your window and squinted. "Oh no," you mumbled. Vladd flew out of your backpack, floating next to your shoulder. "Is that a meteor?"

"Indeed it is," he said solemnly. 

You punched out your ring. "Vladd, ears out!" you said quickly. As soon as you were transformed, you jumped out your window and towards the meteor. Before you got close, a hero you had never seen before flew out to the meteor and pushed it back out into the sky. You paused for a moment in awe before continuing out into the city.

Not far from the Agreste Manor, you saw Ladybug standing next to a new hero in a bright orange suit. She was surprisingly pretty, with her brown hair dipped white. She also had long orange ears standing up from her hair. She carried a long flute in one of her hands, but no weapons. 

"Hi! I'm Volpina!"

You had to stop yourself from saying Lila's name, knowing only you and Adrien would know about that lie. "I'm Batwing," you said shortly. 

Volpina grinned. "I'll be seeing you around, but for now I have some work to do." Volpina then took off, flying over buildings before disappearing from view.

"Looks like we have a new partner," you heard Chat Noir say as he landed between you and Ladybug. 

You crossed your arms, not turning your head from where Volpina had disappeared. 

"Don't you think it's weird, this superhero just appearing out of nowhere," Ladybug said, putting her hands on her hips and turning to Chat Noir. 

Chat Noir shrugged his shoulders. "Batwing came out of nowhere."

Ladybug quirked an eyebrow, as though to say she still didn't trust you. "I bet Batwing agrees with me."

In was against your nature to disagree with Chat Noir, but you also weren't 100% sure she was right either. "I mean, yeah. It is suspicious, but I can also see that we aren't any closer to finding Hawk Moth. Maybe whoever gave us our powers also gave us Volpina." You took a pause then turned to Ladybug, "Do you just not like her because you're jealous of her and Adrien Agreste?"

Her face went beet red and she huffed angrily, but before she could say anything to you Volpina landed on the rooftop in front of the three of you.

"Hey guys! Glad you dropped in, I need a hand. Come on!" Volpina said, quickly taking off again. You groaned, wanting at least some explanation before being led into possible danger, especially since you weren't sure if you could trust her. 

Eventually, the four of you landed on a the rooftop of an old home before Volpina showed you what had caught her attention. 

"I can't believe it! It's Hawk Moth in the flesh! " Chat Noir said in surprise. You quickly grabbed him by his belt and pulled him back into you before he could go after Hawk Moth like you knew he would.

"I need you to stop for a second and think," you told him. "All in the same day, we have a new partner, a meteor, and we see Hawk Moth standing on a random building in the middle of Paris? It just doesn't seem right to me." 

"We can take him down, but it's gonna take all four of us. We better make the most of our individual talents," Volpina said enthusiastically. She pointed over to Hawk Moth, but you took a step back. You weren't sure what the feeling in the pit of your stomach was, but something did not feel right. "Very nice to meet you by the way Cat Noir!" she added on. "And you look pretty sexy in that suit."

"He has a girlfriend!" you blurted out. You immediately felt silly- discussing Chat Noir's relationship status with Hawk Moth possibly in front of you. 

Chat Noir scratched the back of his head and nodded. "We were keeping that as private as possible," Chat Noir reprimanded, "for her safety."

You nodded once and shrugged. "I just think Volpina should know for her safety."

"Say Volpina," Ladybug cut in, helping you breakdown on Volpina. "What's your Miraculous?"

"My necklace," Volpina responded, trying to pretend you hadn't unsettled her. She held her necklace up from her chest to show Ladybug. She wore a smug smile. 

"What power does it give you?" you asked. You weren't going to let your relationship with Chat Noir get in the way of your ability to work with Volpina, so long as she respected that boundary. But, it was still important to get as much information about her as you could. 

"The power of flight and super strength." Volpina looked back to Hawk Moth, gasping at what she saw. "He's getting away!" The four of your sprang into action, following behind Hawk Moth as he teleported between rooftops. "Ladybug, go to his left, Cat Noir, you take the right and Batwing and I will come from behind."

"No!" Ladybug cut in. "I...I take the right, Cat Noir goes from behind and you... take the left."

"Fine. Makes no difference to me." Volpina giggled and shrugged. She then took off after Hawk Moth who was a couple buildings away.

You rolled your eyes. "And I guess I'll still go in from behind."

"Can you chill out a little?" Chat Noir said to the two of you, he walked up between the two of you and threw an arm around your shoulders. You relaxed into his side, letting out a heavy sigh. 

"You're right, Kitten. I'm sorry." He smiled down at you and the three of you followed behind Volpina. 

While attempting to follow behind Hawk Moth, you lost sight of the others. Somehow, it seemed that there were multiple Hawk Moths, almost as though he hired body doubles. You did your best to stay close to the Hawk Moth you were following, knowing you couldn't lose track or else you might never get a chance like this again. 

As you maneuvered your way through Paris, almost reaching the Eiffel Tower, you received an alert on your nunchucks from Chat Noir. Headed to Agreste Manor. Volpina in akumatized. Power is illusions. 

You stopped in your tracks, quickly turning around and darting back home. You knew Volpina was Lila, and you knew that if she were akumatized, she would be going after Adrien. 

When you arrived to the manor you swung in through a window that was already opened. Ladybug and Volpina had clearly been in the middle of an argument. 

"See what I mean! She's jealous of me, of you, of us!" Volpina screamed. She pointed an angry finger at Ladybug. "But this time you aren't going to ruin our date Ladybug." 

"Excuse me, but it wasn't really quite a date, per say," Adrien corrected politely. Volpina turned to him angrily and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, pulling him toward her, and bringing his feet off the ground. 

You readied your nunchucks, baring your teeth. "Take your hand off of him before you lose it," you growled. Volpina sneered at you, tightening her grip on Adrien. You lunged forward, snatching her away from Adrien and shoving her against a wall. While Volpina was pinned, Adrien ran to hide in his bathroom. 

As you reached forward to grab Volpina's necklace, she brought both of her feet off the ground and kicked you backwards off her. You rolled backwards, back flipping back onto your feet. You and Ladybug both began fighting Volpina. 

Shortly into your fight, Chat Noir appeared in the window, "Sorry I'm late. I had some trouble...finding the place." He jumped in through the window, readying his baton beside you. 

Before Chat Noir had an opportunity to fight, Volpina played a melody on her flute. A white beam appeared and about 20 Volpinas appeared in the corner of Adrien's bedroom. Ladybug smartly used her yo-yo to destroy the illusions, but Volpina managed to escape through the window. Your heart dropped when you caught sight of who she had taken with her.

"She's taken Adrien!" Ladybug cried out painfully. 

"That's an illusion, too!" Chat Noir replied quickly. But Ladybug shook her head angrily.

"How are you so sure?" Ladybug countered. She began walking over to Adrien's bathroom. 

"Uh...my..um...feline sixth sense. It's legendary!" Chat Noir said with uncertainty. Ladybug slammed the bathroom door open and looked inside to find Adrien was gone. 

"Really? You don't say! Adrien's gone!" She started to walk over to the window, but you stepped in front of her. 

"If Chat Noir says it's an illusion, then it is, and we should make a plan accordingly." Chat Noir's eyes lit up at the way you defended him. 

"We don't have time for this," Ladybug groaned. "Are you really willing to risk Adrien's life on something Chat Noir says?"

You glanced back to Chat Noir, your bright orange eyes locked in with his sharp green eyes. Memories flooded through your mind about all the times Ladybug had been wrong, failed to see a situation for what it really was. Then you thought of all the times Chat Noir put his blind trust in you. 

"Yes."

You had followed Volpina to the Eiffel Tower to find her dangling an illusion of Adrien off the ledge. Ladybug was kneeling down, about to take her earring off to give to Volpina to protect Adrein.

"Don't do it, Ladybug!" Chat Noir yelled, throwing his baton at Adrien and Volpina. They disappeared into a puff of smoke. You smiled proudly to Chat Noir, who looked back at you and returned your smile. You confidence in him made his heart flutter happily.

After looking around the Eiffel Tower, you were able to spot Volpina hiding behind a metal beam. Once Ladybug spotted Volpina, she activated her Lucky Charm. A polka-dotted popsicle with a shiny inner foil. "I've got an idea to take down Volpina!"

She used the inner foil of the wrapped to blind Volpina for a moment. As she did so, Chat Noir used his cataclysm to destroy an upper level of the Eiffel Tower, which caused rails to fall down around Volpina, trapping her in a makeshift cage. 

Without hesitation, you snatched her necklace off and stomped on it, causing it to break. Ladybug caught the akuma as it fluttered upward. After releasing the purified akuma, Ladybug knelt down next to Lila, pulling away a rail and helping Lila out of the cage. 

"Lila?" Ladybug whispered softly, helping Lila stand. "I... totally overreacted and... never should've spoken to you like that. I'm sorry." She put her hand on Lila's back. 

Lila shoved Ladybug's hand off of her and turned to look her in the eye. "Forget it, Ladybug; you were right. We'll never be friends." She reached down to collect the pieces of her necklace and made her way to the stairs of the Eiffel Tower. 

You grimaced a bit before stepping aside and calling out, "Optimal Revamp!"

A/N: That wraps up Season 1, which also means it's the end of your first semester in Paris. You'll definitely be getting some sweet Christmas content! I wonder what awaits you in your next semester! <3
