You did your best to stay safe, knowing that if Chat Noir saw you running around he would get distracted. Instead, you watched through the distant window the best you could. Occasionally you were able to catch glimpses of Chat Noir or Ladybug flying through the air.

The sound of crashing knights, or hurling cars, sounded outside, but nothing broke through the doors- telling you the class was safe. Hawk Moth's main priority was stealing the Miraculous', and apparently now he wanted your Horrendous. Revenge on the Mayor was more of a side quest the fencing coach aspired to, but Hawk Moth wasn't really interested in helping people get their revenge.

A few minutes passed before the ruckus made its way to the roof of City Hall. Muffled yells about a flag made their way through, and you wondered why. You were sure his akuma was in his sword.

Suddenly, the sky turned outside the window turned black and the room you were in dimmed greatly. On instinct, you stood from your spot on the floor with your peers and made your way outside despite the yells of protest.

The door was still blocked off, so you clumsily unlatched a window and climbed through. You dropped down on the other side next to a large pile of debris. You bit your lip as you scanned the area- the largest problem at the moment seemed to be the overwhelming amount of knights making their way to the roof to subdue Ladybug and Chat Noir.

Since Darkblade was on the roof, there was no way you could be turned into a knight. So, you picked up a long two-by-four and gave it a couple swings like a baseball bat. It wasn't too heavy, but it carried its weight well and delivered a lot of force.

"HEY, SOUP CANS!" you screamed loudly. Some knights turned from their target to look at you. Initially they decided you weren't a threat, but once you started to knock knights out with the large piece of wood you were no longer considered docile.

A distinct group of knights turned to you, chanting, "Part le fer!" The sight made you uneasy, but you weren't going down without a fight. You had hit almost 15 knights in the head, feeling much stronger than when you first arrived to Paris due to all your physical activity as Batwing. However, more importantly, you were feeling much braver.

On the rooftop above you, Ladybug activated her Lucky Charm, and an odd red and black toy fell into her hands. You could barely make out the silhouette due to how far away she was.

You groaned to yourself, feeling splinters of wood sink deeper into your skin with each swing. As you grew tired, more knights surrounded you, until one had grabbed you by the neck and lifted you into the air. Your feet dangled only inches from the ground, but what really hurt was when he threw you against the wall of City Hall.

You wheezed uncontrollably, falling onto your knees, clutching your stomach desperately. "N-not... coo-cool," you muttered. Your vision went a bit blurry, but you could still make out the drops of blood on the ground that spilled from the back of your head. "I-I think you hit my hard too head." You tried to stand up, wobbling pathetically. You smiled lamely as you saw Vladd coming into you field of vision. "Ha, thanks, V. Now, I can save the world." Your words slurred.

You reached out to pet him, but your hand slipped right through his form- he wasn't really there. He was a hallucination.

"No more evil-doing for you, little akuma!" you heard Ladybug shout from the rooftop. She de-evilized the akuma and released it happily. "Bye bye, little butterfly."

Then, you saw Chat Noir step forward, and Vladd floating in front of him. Chat Noir handed him something from his pocket and quickly zoomed off.

Vladd was coming straight to you and this time you were sure what you saw was real. He held your golden ring in between his small hands and presented it to you with a smirk. But, once her saw your condition his face fell and he flew faster. "(Y/N)! Are you okay?"

You nodded sluggishly. "I'm just glad I could still help." You held your hand out, but rather than setting the ring down on your palm, he gingerly slipped it on your finger.

"Don't worry, no one will see you transform here. Once you fix everything, your injuries should go away, too." Vladd stared at you for a moment, looking sad and distressed. He finally released a sigh and kissed you on the forehead. "Whenever you're ready," he said kindly.

"Vladd, ears out."

When you got back to your bedroom at the Agreste Manor you threw your backpack on your bed and slumped straight into the chair at your desk. You released a long breath and tilted your head back in agony. You hadn't even bothered to turn the light on, so you sat in the dark- the only shine of light coming from Vladd's bright orange eyes.

"I can't believe I was so stupid today," you mumbled half-heartedly, rubbing both eyes with one hand. Vladd remained perfectly silent as you continued to complain. "I actually got my Horrendous stolen- I almost lost you." You bit your bottom lip, staring intently at the ceiling. "I did the best I could today, Vladd. But, I'm not sure we're going to win this election. And, to be perfectly honest, I feel like Chat Noir is going to end things between us any minute."

Vladd's tiny eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "I've seen the way he looks at you, (Y/N)."

With another heavy sigh you shook your head. "Not because he doesn't like me, but because he's scared for me..." You glanced at Vladd carefully. "This is the second near-death experience I've had since we started dating."

Vladd shrugged his shoulders and shook his head. "I really don't think he'd break up with you."

You smiled softly down at your little bat, stroking him underneath his chin. He hummed affectionately, then returned your smile.

"Anyway, I better get ready. The election is tomorrow and Adrien needs to go over the speech we wrote- now more than ever since he disappeared earlier." You rested your face into your hands and placed your elbows on your desk.

Vladd smiled at you once again, though you couldn't see. It made him happy to know you cared so much for Adrien, that you could both count on each other wholly.
