Lila
A couple weeks after, it was beginning to get cold out. You were looking for the coat you had brought with you to France but you were beginning to think you had forgotten it. You hurried downstairs, thinking you could ask someone in the house for a spare coat.
You could hear Gabriel arguing on the phone in his office, which was normal whenever he was home in the mornings. You waited outside the office for him to finish up before asking him for anything. It never felt as though he liked you, but he definitely never complained about having you around.
You couldn't see into his office, but you then noticed Adrien standing behind a pillar, peeking into the office. "He hides stuff behind the painting of Mom?" he asked aloud, but you didn't think he was asking you specifically. He turned to you as his dad closed the painting of his mom. "Distract him, please."
Your eyes widened. "Are you crazy?" you whispered back. Gabriel began walking out of his office, towards you. Adrien gave you a pleading look. You groaned and walked up to Gabriel as he came out.
"Mr. Agreste!" you found yourself saying. He looked down at you with narrowed eyes. "I'm really sorry, but I forgot to pack a coat. Is there an extra one around here?"
"Check Adrien's room," he said in a bored tone. He began to walk away. You grimaced as you forced yourself to step in front of him.
"I don't think Adrien would want me in there without him. Could you just go up to his room with me?"
Gabriel rolled his eyes but nodded curtly. He allowed you to lead the way up the stairs. You took as little time as possible, grabbing the first hoodie you could find and leaving the room. You tucked your nose into the collar, allowing yourself to enjoy Adrien's scent for just a moment.
You quickly ran back down the stairs, hurrying up to Adrien who was just coming out of the office as he stuffed a book into his messenger bag. "You owe me big time," you joked, giving him a playful nudge.
"Anything you want," he replied with a playful wink. He gave you a playful squeeze around your shoulders. "By the way, that hoodie looks really good on you." You blushed and turned your face away from him.
"Anyways, what'd you find in--?"
Nathalie cleared her throat behind the two of you. You spun to look at her. "Adrien? (Y/N)? You're both going to be late."

When you finally arrived to school, everyone was buzzing excitedly about someone named Lila.
"I heard Lila used to live in California next door to at least 8 American celebrities!" someone gushed as you walked through the courtyard.
You giggled quietly as the two of you made your way up to the second story of the school. You had convinced Adrien to help you study in the library before the fencing class. "I guess this Lila girl is already quite popular," you said to Adrien. If you hadn't been living the life you had been for the past several months, you wouldn't have believed any of the rumors you had heard about Lila. But you were currently a superhero, dating another superhero, and living with both a high-status model and a high-end designer.
Adrien nodded and went to speak, but he was interrupted by a brown-haired girl with intense green eyes. She was wearing an orange jacket with a black romper which you could tell was very expensive, as well as her brown ankle boots. She was unbelievable pretty, and you find yourself feeling a bit insecure when she reached out and placed her hand on Adrien's shoulder. "Hi, I'm Lila Rossi."
"It's nice to meet you. I'm Adrien Agreste," Adrien replied politely, brushing Lila's hand off his shoulder.
"I know who you are, silly. My modeling agency told me you and I were going to have a photoshoot together soon," she gave Adrien a sweet smile. She then turned to you. "Hi! You must be (Y/N)! I've seen you in some magazine articles. Everyone is so obsessed with Adrien's new sister."
It was true you had been caught in the back of some paparazzi photos people were taking off Adrien, but no one was actually writing full articles about you. Something felt slightly off about about Lila, but a part of you wondered if you were just being jealous.
You shook the thought from your head, smiling back at Lila. "Yeah. My pleasure, Lila."
"Awe. How cute! You're accent isn't as bad as I thought it would be."
You raised an eyebrow, unsure whether to take the comment as a compliment or insult. "Thanks?" You turned to Adrien and huffed out, "I'll be waiting in the library, okay?"
Lila clapped her hands together once. "I was headed there, too." She turned to look at Adrien, "I'm really into reading. I actually read 75 books last year." She leaned forward and wrapped her arm around Adrien's waist and pulled his arm around her shoulders. You rolled your eyes at the interaction and began walking away.
Adrien pulled away from Lila, but she grabbed his hand and began to follow behind you.

In the library, you threw your bag on a table and took a seat next to Adrien. You were a respectable distance from Adrien, but still close enough to look at the textbook he pulled out. Lila had disappeared somewhere else in the library, possibly searching for an extra copy of the history textbook.
While waiting, Adrien quickly surveyed the area. When he saw no one was around, he turned back to you and pulled something out of his backpack. It was a brown book with red markings on the cover. It seemed quite battered and slightly torn.
You gasped, "is this what you took from your father's office?" You kept your voice low and he nodded.
"I haven't looked through it yet." He set it down on top of his textbook, scooting his chair closer to you so that your shoulders were touching. Underneath the desk, his thigh slid over and pressed against yours. You causally pulled away from him, but your heart began to pound. You cleared your throat, unable to tell if he had done it intentionally.
Adrien then began flipping through the book. You gasped as various superheroes passed through your eyes. "Th-those are..."
"This is... this is..."
You both looked at each other with serious expressions before Lila reappeared from behind a bookshelf. Adrien quickly pulled his history textbook from beneath the other book to hide it. "Now we can get going on our history homework. It's so much more fun doing it together, don't you think?" She squeezed in between the two of you, forcing you to separate. "What's that?" She snatched the old book from beneath the textbook and held it up in front of her nose. She took a seat beside Adrien and flipped through some of the pages.
"Uh nothing!" Adrien said quickly, scratching the back of his head. "Just stories about superheroes."
"I love superheroes," Lila purred.
You rolled your eyes and stood up with a sigh. "I'm going to get going," you told Adrien bitterly. You had no problem with Lila hitting on Adrien, you were definitely not jealous. Definitely not, you told yourself. But, you didn't want to sit around and watch the two of them gaze lovingly into each other's eyes. You gathered up your things and made your way out. "See you at our fencing lesson, Adrien."

As you exited the girl's locker room Adrien ran up to you. "Hey, (Y/N), I'm so sorry."
You looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "For what?"
"I-I..." He rubbed the back of his neck and bit his lip. "I don't want you to get the wrong idea about me and Lila. I'm not looking to be in a relationship with any of those girls." He ran his head down your shoulder, cupping your elbow for a second before releasing your arm.
"Adrien. You are allowed to talk to whoever you want. I'm not going to get jealous seeing you with another girl. I'm sorry for leaving earlier, but I just get frustrated seeing all these girls flirt with you."
Adrien chuckled, smirking slyly in a way that almost reminded you of Chat Noir. "I bet you'd be more jealous than you think. I'm your only friend- you'd be so lonely."
You laughed loudly, slapping his arm playfully. "As if you have a ton of other friends, either," you retorted jokingly. He wrapped his arm around your neck, pulling you into him and rubbing the top of your head with his knuckles.
"No! Adrien, no!" you breathed out, almost unable to speak through your laughter. "I'm going to cut you in half in fencing!"
