Kung Food

You had gathered in the dining hall of La Grande Paris. There was a camera crew eagerly filming the judge's panel as they were preparing to taste Chef Cheng's soup.

Alec, the host of the show stood in front of one of the camera's speaking into his microphone. "As usual, our panel of gourmets is made up of André Bourgeois, the mayor of Paris and owner of this luxury hotel," the camera panned to Mayor Bourgeois, "his daughter Chloé, representing the younger generation," Chloe blew a kiss to the camera and offered a flirty wink, "hot rockstar Jagged Stone and his killer crocodile, and finally, there's the divine head chef of this very hotel, Marlena Césaire," the camera focused on a woman in a chef's coat who waved at the camera, "and yours truly -- Alec!"

You leaned over into Adrien's ear, "is that Alya's mom?" He nodded and you grinned. You had eaten her food many times when you lived in the hotel. She was very talented.

Some of the hotel staff brought out bowls of purple soup sit in front of the judges. The broth swirled lavishly, with a purple flower adorning its center.

"It's time to determine the fate of Cheng Shifu's famous Celestial Soup. Let's get tasting!" The judges all picked up their spoons and swirled their soup around, looking down hungrily as the smell wafted towards their noses. Everyone except Chloe lifted the soup into their mouth.

Chef Cheng watched nervously.

Without swallowing, Alec spit the soup out onto the table, he wiped his mouth in horror. "What is this!?"

You put your hands up to your face and gasped in surprise. You had never tasted any of Chef Cheng's cooking, but surely there was a reason he was as esteemed as he was.

"Uh, I don't think this soup would fare well with our guests," Mayor Bourgeois said, trying to be inoffensive. He wiped his face with a napkin. "I'll give it a 3/10." He held up a plate with three black stars on it.

Chloe sneered, crossing her arms in front of her chest. "Seeing as it's seem pretty unappetizing, maybe I'll pass on the tasting, but I'll still give it a zero!" She looked directly at Marinette as she lifted her empty plate and smirked, letting her know she had gotten her payback.

"Ech!"  Jagged Stone gagged. "It's like kissing to singer from the Zombeats! Negative zero." He held up an empty plate.

"I'm sorry," Marlena said sympathetically, "but it's inedible. I give it 1/10." She held her plate up, clearly upset at having to give Chef Cheng such a low score.

Chef Cheng stuttered nervously, not sure what to say. He trudged over to where Chloe's untouched soup was sitting. You gave Adrien a nervous look as Chef Cheng approached the panel. He took in a spoonful of the soup and immediately spit it out. "Uch! I don't understand, I never put these ingredients in. It's a mistake. Someone sabotaged soup!"

Your eyes immediately shot over to Chloe, she was still wearing her smug smile. "Something's wrong," you muttered to Adrien and Marinette.

"I'm certain Chloé's got something to do with it," Marinette added.

Adrien frowned, looking at Marinette with knitted eyebrows. "I'd like to say you're wrong, but I know her only too well." He shook his head with disappointment.

Without saying anything else, Marinette left to talk to her uncle. You stood next to Adrien and watched as Marinette tried to explain everything to her uncle. But he wouldn't hear any of it. He stormed off back into the kitchen. Marinette turned around to look at the two of you, her head low.

"It's horrible to lose face in China," Adrien explained. "We'll wait for him downstairs."

You shook your head. "Something has to be done about this. I'll go see if I can talk to Andre-- I mean Mayor Bourgeois." You squeezed Marinette's shoulder comfortingly. You gave Adrien a quick glance and nodded, signaling for him to watch over Marinette.

While you were talking with Mayor Bourgeois all of the judges began moaning. The mayor doubled over, holding his stomach. "I'm feeling quite uncomfortable..." he groaned.

A man bursted through the kitchen doors and began laughing maniacally. He wore an orange dobak and his skin was a mottled sort of gray. His face was painted red, yellow, and white. His hair stood up, yellow and spiky. "I am Kung Food! You have eaten my soup, you become my servants!" He laughed once more as the judges stood up straight, their eyes now yellow and rred like Kung Food's.

You stepped back a couple steps before running off completely to transform. As you ran to find an empty room, you found a gooey brown substance dripping down the windows, trapping you inside- and Ladybug and Chat Noir outside if they hadn't made it in already. You knew you definitely had to transform now, since you might be the only option at defeating Kung Food. \

You found an empty storage closet and shut yourself inside. Vladd flew out from the pocket of Adrien's hoodie, looking as though he had just woken up. "What's all the fuss," he asked, rubbing his eyes.

"No time," you said. "Vladd! Ears out!" Once your transformation was completed, you ran back out into the hallway and began making your way down the stairs to find where Marinette and Adrien had gone.

At the bottom of the stairs in the lobby you saw Ladybug and Chat Noir standing, facing each other. "Batwing?" Chat Noir said in surprise. You wanted to greet him with a quick kiss, but knew you couldn't. "You're here, too?"

You nodded. "I made it in before the goo covered the door. I am looking for Adrien Agreste and Marinette Dupain-Cheng. (Y/N) told me they were still in the building."

Chat Noir's eyes widened in surprise. He clenched his fist. "I got Adrien out when I came in. We need to go find (Y/N)." He began looking around for any sign of you.

"Marinette's fine, too," Ladybug added. "Why are you so worried about (Y/N) anyways? I told you guys to break up."

Chat Noir did a double take at Ladybug. "She's my girlfriend, Ladybug. Even if we had broken up, I'd still be worried about her."

"We don't have time for this, guys. (Y/N) is safe," you said, though you appreciated Chat Noir standing up for you. "Follow me, I saw the villain. It's Chef Cheng- he's been akumatized into Kung Food."

Chat Noir smirked. "I am feeling a bit hungry," he said slyly, looking back and forth between you and Ladybug. You rolled your eyes playfully.

The three of you made a dash to the elevator. Chat Noir tried pushing the "up" button, but it didn't seem to work. You groaned in frustration, about to turn to the stairs when a hologram appeared behind you. You turned to see a flying dumpling projecting a screen in front of the three of you.

"Ladybug! Cat Noir! Batwing!" Kung Food called out from the screen. "You soon have privilege to be ingredients in Kung Food's soup. But first — you taste my special of the day!"

The elevator doors dinged and opened. You turned back to face the to find Jagged Stone holding a large sword made out of shellfish on his shoulder. "Seafood appetizers!" he yelled as he swung the sword down toward you. You did a backhand spring out of the way, landing in a fight guard. You ducked as he swung again.

"This scampi happening," Chat Noir joked as Jagged Stone brought the sword down on him. He tumbled sideways, getting out of the way so the sword smashed against the ground. Jagged Stone swung again, but Chat Noir jumped over it.

"Now you're just making puns for the halibut," you chided back playfully. Chat Noir paused for a moment and actually smiled at you, right before Jagged Stone charged at him again. Chat Noir jumped backwards, meeting Ladybug's eye. They nodded at each other and sprang into action.

Chat Noir ran forward, pulling out his baton and expanding it to the length of Jagged Stone's sword. As he distracted him, Ladybug slid under his feet and wrapped her yo-yo around one of his legs. You quickly ran over to the luggage closet behind the front counter and opened it, calling out your position for Ladybug.

She lifted Jagged Stone off the ground and started swing him in circles with her yo-yo. After a couple spins she had created enough momentum to throw him into the closet. You shut the door quickly and Chat Noir came up next to you and stuck a chair underneath the handle.

You gave him a fist bump, and Ladybug gave him one, "good work, team," she said. "But there's no time to lose! Chloé might just be the main dish! And we better not wait to find out!" The three of you started making your way to the elevator.

You hit the button for the highest floor and the doors closed behind you. The three of you hadn't made it all the way to the top floor when the elevator doors were forced open and you found Mayor Bourgeois staring at you from down the hall. "Royal hotpot with its giant string of smoked sausages!" he cackled. He held up a string a sausages and potatoes, swinging them around like a weapon. You pulled out your nunchucks and held them out in front of you. (swings it around)

"Looks like a food fight is coming our way," Ladybug said.

"I've got this one, I'm best equipped to handle him." You spun your nunchucks around as a demonstration of the way your weapon would pair up against his, but Ladybug didn't seemed convinced.

As you began fighting the mayor, Ladybug came up behind you to back you up. She was hit and flew backwards into the wall. Chat Noir saw the struggle and went to help Ladybug, but the mayor turned his attention to them at used each end of his sausage link to hurl them into one of the rooms.

"Welcome to the world famous Suite 36 of this hotel," he told them as you ran in after them. They were both pressed into a couch, their heads hanging low as they tried to recover from the hit. "You're no competition, Ladybug."

"She's not the one to worry about," you snapped through gritted teeth. With a sudden burst of speed, you lunged forward. Your nunchucks whirled through the air, aiming for the mayor's ribs. He twisted her body to the side, narrowly avoiding the strike, his own weapon spinning in response.

The two of you clashed in a flurry of motion, your weapons cracking against each other with loud, echoing sounds. He tied to overpower you with brute strength, his strikes heavy and deliberate. But you were too quick and lithe, your movements too fluid and precise. You deflected all his blows, retaliating quickly.

You feinted to the left, drawing him off balance, and then spun low, you nunchucks sweeping towards his legs. He jumped back just in time, but you were already in motion, following up with a strike aimed at his head. He blocked it with a swift upward motion, the force of the collision reverberating up his arms.

You both took a small step back, your eyes locked, neither of you willing to give an inch. With an angry growl, he launched himself at you. But she were too fast. In a flash, you parried his attack, using his momentum against him. You twisted you body and caught his wrist in your nunchuck chain, yanking it down and spinning him around as Ladybug had earlier. With enough momentum and threw him up against the ceiling. The force sent cracks radiating through the ceiling, a welt where he had hit. As he fell onto the ground, unconscious, a small area of the roof caved in, revealing the light blue sky of the rooftop.

"That was amazing!" Chat Noir exclaimed as he ran over to look up at the hole. "I see you in a hole new light." You rolled your eyes again and motioned for him to hurry up to the rooftop, not letting him hear you giggle.

You made it onto the rooftop. Chloe was suspended over the pool by a rope tied to the diving board, the pool and been seasoned into a yellowish broth. It appeared as though Kung Food was about to drop Chloe into the bubbling broth. You quickly sprang into action. As Chat Noir used his baton to sever the rope, Ladybug jumped forward and caught her before she fell into the broth.

You jumped towards Kung Food and began to attack him with your nunchucks. "I know you're more honorable than this, Cheng Shifu!" Ladybug said as she joined the fight.

"I am-I'm not Cheng Shifu, I am Kung Food — the Greatest Chef in the world! And nobody will stop me from finishing my Brat Soup!" he yelled, shaking his fists in anger. He reached into the black bag hanging across his body and pulled out the largest buster sword you had ever seen. It was made of cheese and covered in pepperoni.

"The akuma must be in his chef's hat! Try to grab it!" Ladybug told the two of you. You and Chat Noir continued to fight as Ladybug called out her Lucky Charm.

Kung Food reached into his bag, pulling out a red powder and blowing it into both of your faces. It was cayenne pepper, your eyes began to burn. Your shut your eyes tightly and began coughing.

"Ow! It burns!" Chat Noir cried out, stepping backwards and wiping at his eyes. You warned him not to, rub it, since that would make it worse.

You forced your eyes open with your fingers, and looked around to find Ladybug holding a check dispenser. She was glancing around the rooftop for how to use it as you and Chat Noir continued fighting Kung Food.

"Got it!" Ladybug cheered. She pulled out the check from the dispenser, pulling out several yards of it. She dipped it into the pool, it soaked up the broth and Ladybug pulled it back out. She began swinging it around like a lasso until she managed to wrap up Kung Food with it. As Kung Food was trapped Ladybug flipped over his head, grabbing his hat off his head and tearing it in two mid-air. "Time to de-evilize!" She used her yo-yo to capture the akuma that was already flying up to the sky. "Gotcha! Bye bye, little butterfly." She released the purified akuma.

"Optimal Revamp!" you shouted, thousands of small furry bats began flapping around, repairing everything as they passed. The pool became water once again, the caramel disappeared from the sides of the hotel.

You gave Ladybug and Chat Noir a fist bump, congratulating them on their work before taking off to detransform. You jumped off the rooftop, but circled back around when they weren't looking, entering through a window and hiding in an empty closet.

When you came out of the closet you saw Chat Noir walking down the hall. He was clearly searching for something. "Chat Noir?" you called out. He turned to look at you and his face lit up.

"(Y/N)!" he cheered happily, running over to you and lifting you into his arms. He pulled you close into his chest and spun you around. "I've missed you so much. I was worried about you today." He ran the back of his finger against the side of your face, searching your eyes for assurance that you were okay.

You took his hand into yours, grinning. "I'm fine, Kitten." He cupped your cheeks in his hands, angling your head up to look at him, and gave you a sweet kiss. When he pulled away he smoothed down your ruffled hair, smiling faintly as he looked you over again. "Visit me tonight?" you asked.

He nodded. "Anything for you." He gave you another kiss, a deeper one, pulling you against him by the small of your back. Then, with one more kiss to the back of your hand, he took off out the window.

You had been able to convince Mayor Bourgeois to give Chef Cheng a second chance in the competition, assuring him that something had gone unexplainably wrong the first time and that the soup would be much better the second time around. He agreed and allowed Chef Cheng to remake the soup.

"Could you teach me how to make Celestial Soup, Cheng Shifu?" Marinette asked him, bring over a bouquet of purple pansies. The three of you were watching Chef Cheng make his soup.

Chef Cheng smiled kindly at Marinette and took the bouquet. "With pleasure, Marinette," he replied.

Adrien turned to you and beamed. He wrapped his arm around your shoulders and pulled you close to him. "I'm proud of you," he whispered. You looked back up at him quizzically. "You really stood up to Chloe today, and you helped Marinette and Cheng Shifu by talking to Mayor Bourgeois."

"Seriously? Still making soup?" You jumped away from Adrien and you both turned to see Chloe sneering behind you. "I told you I hate soup! You think the jury is going to approve of this?" She crossed her arms angrily, eying Chef Cheng and Marinette.

Adrien said, "Didn't your father kick you off the jury?" He gave her a warning look.

"No he didn't!" Chloe defended, wrapping her arms around herself and turning away. "I... uh... I... I resigned."

You smirked. "Then, why don't we let the real jury decide, Chloe?" Chloe growled, stomping her foot and leaving the kitchen in a flurry. Adrien put his arm back around your shoulders and shook you side to side as if to tell you 'good job.'

When Chef Cheng finished his soup, the judges sat back down at the table and the cameras began rolling again. Like before, the soup was brought out to them and they were given the opportunity to taste it. They all moaned in satisfaction at the taste and gave Chef Cheng 10 stars each.

"Cheng Shifu," Alec said from his seat at the judges table. "Your delicious Celestial Soup has received the highest marks of all, making you the final winner!" You cheered and clapped along with everyone else.
