Ice Cream and Rooftops
You had been in France for about two weeks and there had no new akuma attacks. Everyday since then had been exactly what it should've been from the start, before you found out villains occasionally attacked Paris.
You arrived at Andre's Ice Cream cart, where Nino, Adrien, and Alya were talking by a nearby bench. They saw you approaching and waved you over with big smiles. They pointed over to the cart with thumbs up.
"Hey, girl!" Alya said. She gave you a kiss on either cheek. "You are going to love this ice cream.
"Sup." Nino opted out of the kiss, giving you a fist bump instead and you turned to Adrien. You got onto your tiptoes and kissed him on either cheek. His face was a bit pink when you pulled away, but you assumed it was because the sun was burning.
"How are you doing?" he asked. You smiled and nodded, but he shook his head. "Come on, you can talk to me. I don't bite." You had previously thought your French was pretty good, but the longer you were in France the more insecure you felt and the worse you realized your French was, and by this point people seemed to think you should know it by now, so they stopped being so easy on you.
"I'm doing well," you said finally. "And how are all of you?"
They clapped lightly for you, which only made your face burn. The gesture was appreciated, however.
"I'm doing great now that you're here to spend time with us!" Adrien said. He tilted his head and stuffed his hands into the pockets of his jeans.
"Yeah! We were actually talking about you before you showed up," Alya patted you on the back and fixed her glasses. "We are so excited to show you this ice cream! Legend has it that this ice cream brings you to your soulmate, and couples that share his ice cream stay together forever!"
"That's so cool!" you said happily. You quickly reached into your pocket and pulled out a few dollars as you ran over to the stand, followed by your friends. They huddled around you at the end of the line and begin talking quickly. So quickly you couldn't understand. It was much like Chloe spoke at the dinner table when she told people about her day, because the Mayor was hardly ever around.
As the line shortened you grew more anxious to try the ice cream that everyone seemed to love even without its romantic lore.
When you finally reached the front Andre was already getting a cone ready for you. He seemed to be humming to himself happily as he rinsed off the ice cream scoop. "Hello, young lady. What's your name?"
"I'm (Y/N)!" you said enthusiastically.
"Well, (Y/N), I have the perfect combination for you. A scoop of coconut ash ice cream, and a scoop of matcha for his intense green eyes, am I right?" He gave you a sly wink and chuckled.
You bit your bottom lip and glanced at the ground playing with your hair. You knew exactly what those colors were; Chat Noir. The coconut ash was solid black, like his suit, and the bright green scoop of matcha was the same color as his eyes. "Thank you, sir." You took the cone from him and grabbed a small plastic spoon from a cup on the cart.
As you tried to hand him the money he was already too busy surveying Adrien, glancing back and forth between him and the ice cream.
"For you, young man. I feel the perfect treat for you is (banana/strawberry/hazelnut/coconut ash) for her hair." He took a large scoop and put it on the cone. Adrien's eyes lit up. "And(blue raspberry/pear/chocolate/pecan) for her (e/c) eyes."
Adrien took the cone and held it up happily. "Thank you so much!" He seemed to be examining it the way you had examined yours.
"That'll be €5 for the happy couple," Andre said. Your eyes widened and you went to protest but Adrien was already handing him the money, giving you a little wink as he did so.
"Oh, Adrien, you didn't have to do that," you told him as you both walked away so that Alya and Nino could order their ice cream. You tried to give him your half of the bill but he wouldn't take it. Instead he wrapped his arm around your shoulders and told you not to worry about it. "Thank you."
"Besides," he added, "he seemed excited to give us the couple's dicount." He examined his ice cream cone and then looked at you. A satisfied smirk played at his lips.
You found a bench and took a seat, slipping out from under his arm. He sat down beside you. You took your spoon and tasted your ice cream. You hummed in delight.
"Yeah, good thing too, this is so yummy!"

You perched atop an old chimney that protruded out from one of the older buildings in Paris. You stood carefully. The chimney was ever so slightly wobbly, it felt as though even the smallest of moves would knock it over. You're bright orange eyes scowered over the city feverishly in search of anything that could be wrong. Police sirens sounded in the distance, but they quickly turned off. You assumed someone had merely been pulled over.
"Hey, Bats!"
"Hello, Chat Noir," you replied in a hushed whisper. You were both nocturnal animals granted with night vision and super hearing That was why Ladybug had decided the two of you would take turns patrolling at night. This bothered you greatly, but when Chat Noir told you he could just do it every night, you decided to patrol for his sake.
It was your turn tonight, so you didn't understand why he joined you. More so, you didn't understand how he found you.
"What're you doing here, Kitty?"
He smiled and walked over to you across the tip of the roof. "I needed to get out of the house."
"Feeling trapped?"
"How did you know?"
You carefully hopped off the chimney and met him in the middle of the roof. You shrugged your shoulders and got up closer to him so that you could make out every detail of his face. His bright eyes were narrowed, surrounded by his black mask- you thought of your ice cream.
"I can tell you like freedom," you said. He nodded and sat down. You followed his lead, brushing your shoulder lightly against his.
He leaned away from you slightly, bringing his knee up to his chest and resting his elbow on it. "I do. I hate feeling trapped. I mean, everyone does. But, I really am trapped." He was whispering more to himself than to you, but he wasn't hard to hear.
You both sat there for another hour or so until he decided no akumas would attack tonight and went home. Though the thought of leaving him alone bothered you. You imagine strict parents, and a small bedroom, maybe he even had to share it with a sibling. Either way, you wished there was something you could do to help him.
(A/N): Just a little bit of fluff on both sides. Thanks for all the reads so far! I hope you all enjoy it!😘😘😘
