Barricade

"N-no!" you cried out, grabbing her by the wrist so that she wouldn't move. "We need to form a plan here. Chat Noir can--"

Rose gasped, "Chat Noir is by himself?! We're screwed!"

Alya sighed heavily. "He can't purify Akumas and he can't fix the city." She looked around nervously.

You gulped forcefully and walked over to the large window, catching a glimpse of Chat Noir fighting off a band of knights. "Chat Noir us capable on his own... the last thing we should do is go outside and try to help him," you said softly. "If we get turned into knights his fight would only be greater. He's on his own until Ladybug shows up."

The class stared at you with wide eyes. No one could say anything until Chloe piped up, "So, we're supposed to stay cooped up in here?"

You shook your head. "I wish Adrien were here. He could help me think of a plan. But, since he's not, we all need to work together to figure this out."

Everyone smiled. You glanced out the window once again, just in time to see Chat Noir swipe your ring out of Darkblades hand. You smiled happily, then the realization hit that he wouldn't know who to return it to.

Chat Noir jumped backwards, looking triumphantly at the small piece of gold jewelry in his black glove. He discretely placed it into his pocket and continued fighting Darkblade on his own.

"Oh no!" Chloe screamed. Your eyes snapped over to her. She was biting at her manicured nails. Her mascara was smudged and her ponytail was becoming loose. "Did you see that?! I think Batwing lost her miraculous!"

Ivan gasped, pushing past you to look through the window. "What are we gonna do? Chat Noir is fighting the villain, Batwing is MIA, and Ladybug is nowhere to be found!"

You looked around the room desperately. "We need to close the doors!" you ordered. You moved from your spot at the window towards the large doors and, with help from Juleka, Rose, and Alya, you shut and locked them.

Rose leaned against the doors and inhaled sharply a few times before turning to Chloe. "Chloé, what should we do? What would a class rep do?!" she begged. Her cheeks were bright red and her hands were visibly shaking.

"Well, if indeed you vote for me," Chloe's smile faltered, "I'll provide you with an answer. Tomorrow!" She forced her smile wider, but it was all fake.

"But we can't wait until tomorrow!" Rose pouted.

"Then you're out of luck. You'll have to ask someone else!"

You didn't realize you were gritting your teeth so forcefully until you relaxed your jaw. Marinette was out of sight all of a sudden. You caught a glimpse of her running upstairs and growled. "Look!" you told the class. Their attention shifted straight to you and the room fell completely quiet. "We need to stop the soldiers--"

"They're called 'knights'," Chloe sassed. She turned to Sabrina and the two cackled annoyingly.

"How many languages do you know? Huh, Chloe?" you demanded aggressively. You did your best to ignore her and address the rest of the class. "We need to lock he windows and board up the door. We need to stop the knights from getting in at all costs."

The class nodded in agreement. "Who's doing what?" Alya asked.

"Boys, lock up the windows, and girls, we are going to board the door."

Everyone ran their seperate ways. The boys began to check all the windows, locking the ones that could be locked. The girls paired up to carry the heaviest items to the door. So far, there was already a bookshelf and a heavy desk.

You glanced around again, thinking about anything you may have missed.

"Good job, girl!" Alya said, nudging you lightly with her elbow. "Now there's a future class representative in the making."

"O-oh... thank you. I thought you hated me."

Alya laughed and shook her head just as Mylène hurried past the two of you with a stack of books taller than her.

"No, you're completely right about Marinette- maybe a little harsh, though. Either way, her and I are working on those... tendencies."

You smiled lightly and turned to the ground, suddenly feeling yourself become timid. You had never intended to be so mean, but you found yourself overly protective of Adrien. You saw how girls treated him, and you wanted him to feel like an actual human being.

"We have to barricade the entrance!" Marinette yelled, running back down the stars to the entrance hall. You had made your way over to a solid mahogany table, watching her the whole time.

Your eyes widened in genuine shock. Had she really not been paying any attention at all the past couple of minutes? You pursed your lips, "We're already on it!" You sighed heavily to yourself. "How about you come help me with this?"

Marinette's face drained of all color as she realized life moves on without her. You held back a snigger and lifted the table.

"I hope they haven't gone too medieval on Chat Noir!" Nino muttered, nervously rubbing his hat.

"There's no way!" you said quickly. "Chat Noir knows what he's doing." You waddled backwards as Marinette pushed the table forward, finally dumping the table in front of the door.

"It's time to retreat!" you ordered. "We need a place to hide, André!"

Your lack of formality startled your peers, but André and Chloe didn't flinch. When you had first arrived in Paris it was mandatory you referred to him as "André" or "papa". Per you exchange organization, he had to treat you as his own. It just so happened that he wasn't hosting you anymore.

"This way!" the mayor shouted, leading the way behind a thick reception deck built into the ground. Your class followed closely behind him, and Jennie Kim even made sure everyone was safe before getting to safety herself.

Almost the whole class had tucked themselves in safely, but you turned to see Marinette looking desperately into her purse, biting her lip.

"Marinette..." you questioned cautiously. "What are you doing?!"

Marinette sneered at you. "As if you'd care. I'll make sure all the windows are closed first!"

You were completely taken aback, though you did feel as though you had it coming. You had been rather hot and cold with Marinette since the day you arrived, however, her attitude had been the same. You wanted to stop Marinette, but a banging on the doors made you pause in your tracks as she ran away.

"Crap!" you muttered under your breath. "Vladd... I could really use your help..."
