~ PART SIX ~

Back on the roofs of Paris, Ladybug stood with Bunnyx right before her future friend headed back to her time. "Hey, Bunnyx," she started asking, "when you travel through time, do you forget what happened when you're done?"

Bunnyx shrugged. "What's seen can't be unseen," she pointed out. "I know who you are, Minibug, and a few other things too."

Ladybug's eyes widened. "Do you know who Hawk Moth is?"

"Even if I did, I couldn't tell you," the adult superheroine answered casually. "There's a time for everything, and time . . . is a fragile thing." She started climbing back into her Burrow, adding with a wink, "That's the reason you picked me, Minibug. I know how to keep a secret." Then she was gone.

"He wasn't home," Marinette explained to her waiting friends back at the park. "His fencing competition probably ended later than expected."

"What did you do with the gift?" Alya demanded.

"Oh!" She shrugged. "I dropped it off at home before coming back here. I was gonna tell you that I'd given it to him, but the truth is, I just couldn't do it! But I promise next time, it'll work. You know what they say," she finished with a sheepish grin. "563rd time's a charm!" She spread her arms, and all the girls laughed and crowded in for a group hug.

Late that day, as the sun was setting in a beautiful display across Paris, a certain black-suited feline superhero sat alone atop the Montparnasse Tower, watching over the city and softly singing to himself, "Little kitty on a roof . . . all alone without his Lady . . ."

Rather suddenly, Ladybug swung in from behind and landed behind him, then walked up and sat down comfortably next to him.

"Heyy, Bugaboo," Cat Noir greeted her with a smile. "So what was that sudden call for?"

However, she merely smiled at him. "I did it," she whispered happily, then leaned her head contentedly on his shoulder.

Cat Noir seemed pleasantly surprised. "I . . . have no idea what you're talkin' about," he ventured with a grin, "but I'm perfectly fine with it." He looked at her lovingly for a moment, saying nothing, then returned his gaze to the setting sun in the distance.
