Chapter 7- Questions always have answers
"T-told you I would come back." He looked at her with a forced smile. Somehow, hot tears managed to leak out her eyes.
She began to tap rhythmically. Adrien was confused why she was doing this.
Thunk thunk da thunk thunk. Still holding his stomach, he figured out why she was tapping.
Morse code. It was an old way to communicate without actually talking, converting text to it usually requires using on and off clicks, tones, or lights. In this case, Marinette tapped it out.
'Adrien, what are you doing here? Where are we? What happened to the hospital? Is Paris in danger? Is my family okay? What's wrong with my legs? What did Hawkmoth do to you??!?!' The last sentence was tapped out vigorously, almost as if that was the most important question.
"We are in," Adrien grunted, forcing himself to look at his lady. "Hawkmoth's attic, where he had someone specialty built it into a liar without them knowing." Adrien stopped talking to breath in a large gulp of air. Marinette started to tap again, tapping for him to stop if he couldn't take it.
"When Hawkmoth akumatized me, I did his every bidding. I destroyed buildings and towers to draw you out. Up until our fight, I was supposed to kill you. When I realized you were..." Adrien drifted off, a tear cascading down his cheek.
"... Then he pushed you off the roof. I couldn't believe it, it hear me so much, Marinette. My darkened hear literally crashed. He still made me do his bidding. He told me that he would bring you back; that you wouldn't die. But I had to show that I was loyal.
Flashback
Chat Blanc stared out the large glass window, his eyes drifting, clouded over with tears. Hawkmoth had his back turned, placing Ladybug's earrings neatly into a box. He closed the lid.
"Ah, perfect. Now I just need Chat Noirs Miraculous. Then I can rule the world!" Hawkmoth bellowed out, turning to his sorrowful servant.
"Chat Blanc, I need you to find Chat Noir. With your copy of his power, you can defeat him." Chat Blanc stood dazed, ignoring his command.
Hawkmoth impatiently huffed, forming his butterfly mask. The identical copy flown onto his distressed sons' face.
"Cat got your tongue, Blanc? I told you to go find Chat Noir. Isn't that what you promised?" Chat Blanc ignored the thought of turning around and disenigrating him.
"You promised I could get back the love of my life," Blanc groaned out, balling his fist.
"Now she is in a hospital! Her life's on a balance beam right now, and it's all MY FAULT! De-evilize me, now!" Chat Blanc cried out, gripping his ring, ready to throw it and crash it on the ground.
"I can bring her back." Blanc looked up at his blood sucking demon, seeing him seething in anger.
"One day, when she wakes up from her coma, you can sneak her out. You can bring her here and I'll fix everything done to her. But first, find Chat Noir. Wreck havoc, do what you have to do." Chat Blanc, stared at his ring, which glistened in the morning light.
"Whatever." He kicked open the large butterfly window, using his baton to propel himself. It quickly shut behind him, letting none of his butterflies fly out with it. When he was out of sight, Hawkmoth de-transtormed.
"W-why did you send him out to find Chat Noir? He IS Chat Noir."
Gabriel eyed his kwami as if nothing he said made sense.
"I know. That the point. Phase 1 is a go. Phase 2. Let's get ready." Gabriel smirked out the large window.
....
Marinette watched his expressions retaliate.
"I... stopped wrecking havoc as soon as Hawkmoth allowed me to bring you here. He said he was going to fix you. Only if I found Chat Noir." He glared angrily at his ring.
"When I was akumatized, I had no idea I was the hero. He pressured me into destroying more of Paris. By the time I realized what the hell I was doing..." He sucked in a breath threw his teeth, baring them. "Master Fu's blood was on my hands."
