Ch-26 Meeting the Fam

Taehyung's pov

Jungkook took my hand at the door, squeezing a little too tightly for comfort.

"Okay, so here's the deal. If you hate my family then we only have to see them an average of four times a year, just on birthdays and special occasions."

I inwardly cringed at that statement. Why on earth would I possibly hate his family? Were they going to be mean to me? Did they not like me having a child? Was my job not good enough? Why was he pulling that face?

"Kook, seriously, you're scaring me now. Are your family going to lock me in a cupboard and not talk to me, or just not acknowledge me or something?" I asked nervously.

"No," he said grimly, "but you may wish for that."

"What?" I yelped, looking longingly back at his car. Why had I agreed to this in the first place? Oh yeah, because I was starting to fall in love with the guy, and he wanted me to meet his family. I inwardly scolded myself for not asking Jimin what they were like beforehand so I could have prepared myself.

"Ready?" Jungkook asked, his hand on the door handle.

"No," I groaned.

He smiled apologetically and pushed the door open anyway. Almost immediately I saw a girl speed walking down the hallway, a big grin on her face as she bowled into Jungkook with wide arms. He laughed and hugged her tightly. "Hey, Aeri, have you been drinking already? It's not even midday!" he scolded playfully.

She grinned and pushed his hand off as he went to ruffle her hair. I shuffled on my feet, not knowing what to do or say. Should I stick out my hand and introduce myself or wait for him to do it? Should I turn and run? Maybe that would be the best option...

"Aeri, this is Taehyung. Tae, this is my sister, Aeri," Jungkook introduced, smiling proudly.

So much for the running plan!

I smiled awkwardly and held out a hand to her. "Hey, nice to meet you," I greeted.

"You too, I've heard a lot about you." She turned back to the stairs and shouted, "Mom! Jungkook brought his boyfriend!"

I winced and cringed into Jungkook's side.

"Aeri, seriously, the longer we put this off, the better. Could you not have at least let him get in the door before we set our batshit crazy mother on him?" he complained.

"I heard that, Jeon Jungkook!"

I looked up in time to see a pretty lady almost skipping down the stairs; her face was stretched into a huge smile as her eyes latched on me. A guy was following behind her; he was incredibly handsome and looked like an older version of Jungkook. One of my eyebrows rose in appreciation.

"Please tell me you guys weren't up there... Ugh, I can't even finish that sentence without throwing up. Actually, I think I just did in my mouth a little," Jungkook stated beside me, shuddering.

Aeri and I both burst into laughter. I slapped his stomach to get him to stop pulling that face he was doing right now, the disgusted 'I-saw-myparents- having-sex-once' face. I needed to stop laughing and that face wasn't helping at all.

His mom stopped right in front of me. I opened my mouth to say hi, but she cupped my face in her hands, kind of smooshing my lips together.

"Aww, you're such a beautiful boy! Oh, Evan, look at him, isn't he beautiful?" she gushed with wide eyes.

I blushed and flicked my eyes to Jungkook, who was just standing there with his mouth open, looking at me; a mixture of horrified and apologetic.

"It's so nice to finally meet you, sweetheart! I've heard so many great things about you," Mrs. Jeon breathed, pulling me into a hug.

Wow, batshit crazy is right!

"You too," I answered, a little stunned by her forwardness and affection.

She pulled back and looked around the hallway excitedly. "Where is he? Did you bring him?" she chirped, almost bouncing on the spot.

Bring who? Seriously, had someone slipped something into my drink this morning and this was some weird trip I was on?

"Mom, I told you he couldn't come," Jungkook answered, taking my hand and squeezing it gently. "Will you calm down the craziness a little, I swear to God if you scare him away from me..." he trailed off, shaking his head warningly.

She waved her hand dismissively. "Oh, psht, whatever."

I smiled politely. "Who are we talking about?" I asked, a little confused as to what I was missing out on.

"Han," Jungkook answered, at the same time as his mother proclaimed, "My grandson!"

What. The. Fuck?

My body reacted before my mind even finished registering what she'd said. My mouth dropped open in shock, a little pop sounding where my lips parted so suddenly. My forehead creased with confusion as I tried to work out exactly what kind of level of crazy I had just walked into.

Jungkook groaned and his hand tightened on mine. "That's it, we're leaving!" he stated, turning and starting to drag me back through the still open door.

I had no idea what to think. This woman wanted to meet Han? She was already calling him her grandson? Seriously, who did that?! I looked at Jungkook, wondering what exactly he'd been saying to his mother about our relationship. Had he lied and told her we'd been seeing each other for a year instead of eight weeks? Did she think Han was Jungkook's son? What else would explain her excitement?

"Oh, come on, I was just asking!" she cried.

Jungkook turned back to her and shook his head, waving his hand at her. "This craziness needs to stop. I'm putting my foot down," he said sternly.

"Now, Taehyung and I are going to knock on the door like normal people, and you're going to answer the door like a normal person. Deal? Let's just start over." He practically dragged me outside and slammed the door in her face, leaving us outside again and her inside, giggling excitedly.

I could hear her in there talking to Jungkook's dad. "Oh, Evan, how adorable is he? What a cute couple!" she gushed.

I looked back at Jungkook, still flabbergasted and confused as to what was going on. Seriously, his mom was like a whirlwind, you couldn't help but get swept away by her enthusiasm.

He winced and pressed his lips to mine, kissing me fiercely. When he pulled away, he looked at me pleadingly. "Just four times a year. After this visit we won't have to see them again until Christmas," he whispered.

"What the hell was that?" I asked, shaking my head trying to make sense of the situation.

"That," he blew out a big breath, "was my mother."

I laughed uncomfortably and chewed on my lip at his horrified expression. "She's... enthusiastic." I struggled to find the right word to describe what I'd just witnessed.

He closed his eyes and nodded. "Ready for meet the parents, round two?" he asked, raising his hand to knock on the door. I nodded and shrugged. I wasn't sure I would ever be ready, but we needed to get it over with. Jungkook smiled and knocked on the door a couple of times.

"Oh, I wonder who that could be, I wasn't expecting anyone," Dae-hee sang, laughing inside the house. I burst out laughing and pressed into Jungkook's side. I was already in love with his mom, crazy or not.

When she opened the door, she had a big grin on her face. Meet the parents round two went a lot better than the first round. Everything was polite and semi-normal; I say semi-normal because she still hugged the life out of me and gripped my hand, grinning at me like I was the best thing since sliced bread – but at least Jungkook didn't drag me out of the house this time. His dad and sister were really nice too. I blushed when I saw Evan slap Jungkook on the shoulder and whisper something that sounded like, "Score for team Jeon, that's a keeper right there," in his ear. Jungkook just laughed and looked at me proudly before kissing the side of my head which made his mom "aww" at us.

I met his other sister, the youngest one, Lisa. She was quieter than the rest of them. Jungkook was teasing the life out of her about her hair, complaining that he'd told her to wash out the dye last time. She smiled warmly at me when I poked him in the ribs and told him to leave her alone. Everything was going great.

Hannah and her boyfriend weren't here yet, apparently they stayed at a hotel last night after having a romantic meal for her birthday – Jungkook wasn't best pleased when he learnt that little titbit of information.

I'd not seen this side of Jungkook before; how attentive, protective and affectionate he was with his sisters and mom. It was cute to watch how they fussed over him, and teased him about needing a haircut and to eat more food. I leant against the counter, just watching him talk to his family; the whole time, he had one arm securely around my waist, stroking my hip reassuringly.

I smiled as I watched the interactions; I had never pictured him having a family. For some reason, he struck me as a man's man. He loved to drink with his friends, he had this big macho job, liked rock-climbing and bungee jumping, shooting guns, fighting – but yet he was also perfectly at home here with his family; in fact, he seemed extremely contented here. Watching the way he interacted with them all, made me want this too; it made me want this kind of life for myself and Han.

I could almost picture myself in Mrs Jeon's place, heading up the family. I watched the way Jungkook's dad was stroking her back while she spoke. They looked so cute and adorable together; I couldn't help but wonder if Jungkook and I would still be like that in years to come. I chewed on my lip and tried to come back to reality a little, it had only been eight weeks, I shouldn't really allow myself to dream that far ahead. I certainly shouldn't picture Han bringing home his girlfriend or boyfriend to meet me, all of us hanging out in the kitchen, laughing. I definitely shouldn't picture Jungkook smiling at me the way Mr. Jeon was smiling at mrs.Dahee. I couldn't allow myself to think like that because that was a sure fire way to break my heart into a million pieces. I couldn't allow myself to dream, because dreams and hopes didn't bring anything in life, except disappointment.

"Kook, you mind helping me move the grill and the chairs and stuff down to the beach?" Evan asked, nodding towards the back door.

Dahee clapped her hands together excitedly. "Taehyung can stay with me, we can have some alone time!"

Oh no! I looked at Jungkook pleadingly, willing him to come up with some brilliant excuse as to why I had to stay at his side and help him move chairs.

Instead, he smirked at me and nodded. "Sure, bonding time is just what you two need," he answered.

I narrowed my eyes at him. "Sounds great," I lied, forcing a smile.

He laughed and pulled me into his chest, kissing me lightly for a couple of seconds. "Don't miss me too much, Stripes."

I rolled my eyes. "Oh, I'll try not to."

He bent in close and kissed me again lightly. "I'll come and save you in a couple of minutes," he whispered against my lips. I nodded gratefully and smiled. His eyes twinkled as he pulled back, and I held in my dreamy sigh that wanted to escape. He turned to his mom. "Remember the rules we went over on the phone? Break one and we're leaving," he warned, following his father out of the door, grabbing Aeri's hand and dragging her out too, leaving me alone with his mom.

I looked at her hesitantly, not knowing what to say. "Your house is beautiful. It's a great day for a beach party," I said.

Oh God, I'm talking about the weather! I immediately wanted to slap myself on the forehead. Great day for a beach party? I might have well just said, 'Well, this is awkward'.

Dahee didn't seem to think it was a stupid thing to say; she smiled and nodded enthusiastically. "It's a beautiful day. I can't wait for you to meet everyone. This party is going to be great!"

"How many people are coming?" I asked, wanting to keep the conversation going so it didn't lapse into an uncomfortable silence. Though, I had the distinct impression that there would be no silences with this woman around, she seemed to talk more than I did when I got on one of my rambles.

She pursed her lips, seeming to be thinking about it, and I took my opportunity to study her. She was extremely pretty in the understated, 'I-don't-need-to-dress-up-too-much-or-put-on-too-much-make-up' kind of way. Her personality seemed to burst from every pore, making her seem even more cute and adorable. I could see a lot of Jungkook in this woman, the way he seemed to be able to make people laugh or smile or feel comfortable. He looked like his dad, but he had his mom's ability to light up a room – just minus the crazy.

"I think maybe about forty in total," she answered. "My brother and sister are coming with their children. One of my uncles is coming too, but he won't stay long, just long enough to eat all of our food and then he'll leave. Some neighbours are coming for a couple of drinks too. Hannah has some friends coming from school, I think."

I inwardly winced. Jungkook had said this was a small affair, not forty of his friends and family.

"Anyway, tell me more about you, sweetheart. What about Han, he's with his dad today?" Dawn questioned, looking at me like a curious puppy.

"Yeah, he's there for the weekend. Right now he's probably visiting his Nanna Juliet and making cupcakes," I laughed.

She seemed to make a little whimper noise as she mouthed the word 'Nanna'. "That's sweet. Does he see his dad a lot?" she asked, still seeming to be musing over what I'd said about Seojoon's mom.

I shrugged. "When he can. Seojoon works a lot, so..." I trailed off, not knowing what else to say.

"Do you get on alright with Seojoon?"

I took a big breath, not really wanting to lie to this woman. For some reason, I trusted her and didn't mind admitting my disastrous relationship to her. "In front of Han we get on great, but behind closed doors, not so much. I think there's still a lot of ill feelings there to be honest," I admitted.

"On your part?" she asked.

I nodded. "Yeah, even after three years our relationship is still a little raw."

She patted my hand that was resting on the counter. "Well, if you ever need to talk to someone about it then you just know that I'm here for you. I'm here to listen to all my babies, and I never judge," she stated, smiling kindly.

All my babaies... Wow, there she goes with the accepting me thing again. I smiled back gratefully. This woman had sucked me right in. I defied any person to have one conversation with Jeon Dahee and not fall in love with her. "Thanks, Mrs Jeon , that's sweet."

She smiled. "Now, onto Han" she stated, looking at me expectantly.

I looked at her uncomfortably, and waited for her to continue and tell me what she wanted to know.

"Jungkook said he's four?" she questioned. I nodded in response. "And what kind of thing is he into?"

"Anything Disney. Or building stuff, Lego, bricks, cars, anything like that. He's a typical boy in that respect; he likes climbing trees and making a mess. Him and Jungkook seem pretty well suited," I joked.

Dahee laughed. "He sounds so adorable, just like Jungkook when he was a kid, always building something with his father. Jungkook used to like Disney too," she replied, nodding enthusiastically.

"Oh yeah? I bet he liked Peter Pan." I could just see a young Jungkook idolising Peter Pan because he never had to grow up.

Dawn shook her head. "No, not Peter Pan. He absolutely adored The Little Mermaid. He used to watch that movie over and over again, never got tired of it."

I burst into a fit of giggles thinking of little Jungkook watching that movie over and over. I'd have to buy it for him now as a joke. "He's going to love you for telling me that, he always tries to be so macho."

She smiled and waved her hand dismissively. "I can handle him, he's a pussy cat," she stated confidently, making me laugh a little harder. "So, what does Han look like? Do you have a picture of him?" she asked.

I nodded and pulled out the photo from my wallet, holding it out to her. She squealed when she looked at it, her hand shooting up to cover her mouth.

"Oh, he's so perfect! Look at the eyes and the little button nose! Oh, Taehyungie, he's so precious! I can't wait to meet him. Can I meet him? Will you bring him here one day? Maybe he could stay the night, and you and Jungkook could go out or something? I'm always up for babysitting, anytime you want, you just say the word and I'm there!"

I laughed uncomfortably. "Umm... that's really nice of you." I nodded, not really knowing how to answer any of those questions. Maybe Jungkook would have seen the light by then and will have moved onto someone more suited to him – a glamour model perhaps.

She grinned and hugged the picture to her chest. "Can I keep this?" she asked, looking at me pleadingly.

Keep my picture? "Er... sure?" I answered, but it came out more of a question because I was just so lost. This woman couldn't possibly be as nice as she was coming across, could she? This had to be an act, didn't it?

She laughed excitedly, sticking the photo onto her fridge with a magnet. "I can't wait to show that off to the girls at the bowls club. There's this one woman there, Margaret her name is, well, she's always bragging that her daughter has a baby already. She's rubbed my nose in it forever. Well now she can stick it in her pipe and smoke it because my grandson is ten times cuter than hers!" she exclaimed proudly, smiling down at the photo again.

Was she for real? There was me worrying that they would hate the fact that I had a child from another relationship, and she was planning on bragging to her friends at bowls? Life really was strange sometimes.

She smiled warmly at me and looped her arm through mine. "Want to help me with the food?"

"Sure thing," I answered, still a little bemused by this whole situation.

There was not a chance that my parents would give Jungkook an easy time like this when they met. My dad wasn't exactly very trusting of guys after Seojoon, so I knew he would probably rip Jungkook a new asshole before that meeting was over. I was getting off pretty lightly here.

She piled a stack of French bread in front of me and smiled apologetically. "I'll slice, you spread?" she offered, looking at me hopefully.

"Sure, whatever you want," I agreed, picking up a knife and popping the lid off the butter that was sat on the counter. Dahee grinned and pulled out a chopping board, slicing up the bread and stacking them on another board for me to spread them. We made small talk for a minute or so, but then her face turned a little more serious as she leant in closer to me.

"Can I tell you something?" she asked quietly.

"Umm, sure."

She smiled, seeming a little hesitant and I suddenly wondered if this was going to be something bad about Jungkook.

"I always thought that Jungkook was... you know," she whispered, nudging me with her elbow.

I raised one eyebrow at her, not having a clue what she was going on about. "Jungkook was?" I prompted.

She looked around, checking we were on our own before she leant in, looking at me awkwardly. "You know... Asexual."

Asexual? What the? She thought Jungkook was Asexual? I burst into laughter. I was laughing so hard that my sides were hurting. The idea of a player like Jungkook being asexual was probably one of the funniest things I had ever heard.

"Why... Why would you... think that?" I stuttered around my giggles, covering my mouth as tears started to form in my eyes.

She chewed on her lip and shrugged, giggling along with me too. "I don't know, he never showed any signs or anything. Well, I mean there was The Little Mermaid thing," she said, winking at me.

I laughed harder. If Jungkook knew that his mom was thinking that he would pitch a fit. His reaction would be priceless, no doubt. Dahee shrugged, her face getting a little more serious. "It's just that he'd never spoken about a partner before, I've never known him to have a girlfriend or boyfriend . Well, before you, of course," she added quickly. "Evan always said I was crazy, tried to assure me that Jungkook wasn't that way, but I just always thought..."

"Jungkook's not asexual," I confirmed, my voice shaky from all the laughing.

She sighed and nodded. "Thank goodness! I mean, I'm not a Strict parents or non accepting or anything, everyone's entitled to their own preferences, but I always wanted grandchildren and," she sighed again, "and he's the only boy, so he's the only one that's going to carry on the Jeo  name."

I busied myself buttering the bread, trying to stop my hysterics bubbling over again.

"So, do you want more kids, sweetheart?" Dahee asked, raising one eyebrow at me after we'd calmed down.

I didn't even need to think about that answer. "Yeah," I admitted. "I love being a mom. It's the best feeling in the world when you get a hug from your child, or they smile at you. I'd definitely like more kids."

Arms suddenly closed around my waist, yanking me back into something hard. "And what if I don't want any?" Jungkook chimed in, his breath blowing down my neck.

I smiled teasingly over my shoulder. "Then I'd have to dump your ass."

He pursed his lips playfully. "Is it true that when a person get pregnant their boobs get bigger?" he asked, his gaze flicking down to my chest.

I laughed and rolled my eyes. "Yes, Kook," I confirmed.

He pressed his chest against my back tightly. "Then I want lots of kids," he joked, his hand skimming up my side heading towards my chest.

I squealed and pushed his hand away it reached its desired destination.

Dahee clicked her tongue. "Huh, I was definitely wrong," she mused, turning back to the bread.

I burst into giggles, and Jungkook just looked at me like I had lost the plot.

I shook my head and kissed him lightly before turning back to my chopping board.

Two hours later and we were waiting for people to start arriving. His sister had showed up, and I felt a little sorry for both her and her boyfriend when Jungkook started sending them dirty looks.

We were currently both lying on a plastic sun lounger on the beach, soaking up some sun before the party got into full swing. I'd changed into my swimsuit, but i had my top on because I was a little self-conscious about taking it off. Jungkook, on the other hand, was wearing nothing more than a pair of sky blue shorts. As we lay there, his warm skin was pressed against my side, his chest and abs on show to the world. The way the sun touched his skin, and the breeze ruffled his hair that he hadn't bothered to gel this morning, the way his smell mixed in with the coconut of the sun cream – all of it was intoxicating.

I rolled to my side, facing him, snuggling in closer and kissing the base of his throat. He smelled and looked so good that I was itching to run my fingers, and mouth, across his abs to see if he tasted as good as he looked.

I sighed wistfully. "They should make clothes illegal," I flirted, tracing one finger across his chest, circling it around his nipple. "You should just walk around exposed like this all the time."

"And if I'm wearing this all the time, what are you going to wear?" His hand trailed down my side, across my hip to the bottom of my shorts, pushing his hand up the back of the material, one finger tracing across the bottom of my butt cheek. I didn't need to look at his face to know that he'd be shooting me that cocky grin of his.

I chuckled sheepishly. "Well, if I had you looking like this all the time, then I'd definitely be wearing a smile."

He laughed and shifted so that he was half hovering over me as he dipped his head and kissed the side of my neck softly. A breathy moan escaped my lips; it was involuntary; his kisses just seemed to bring out reactions in me that I had no control over.

How I was managing to stop myself from flipping him onto his back and taking him right here and now, I had no idea. With his body pressed

against mine so tightly, I could already feel that he would be pretty up for the idea of it. He was extremely excited downstairs, the feel of it pressing against me was driving me crazy, and I was going to try my hardest to change his mind about not wanting to have sex with me this weekend. It had been a long time since I'd been with a guy, and I just felt like I needed him. There was a horrible sinking sensation in my stomach, and I couldn't shake the feeling that he would break up with me before I got to have the full Jeon Jungkook experience.

His lips found mine, and about two seconds later, cold water splashed on my arms and legs, which were wrapped around Jungkook's torso. He jerked and made a yelping noise as he jumped up onto all fours, looking over his shoulder accusingly.

"Lisa, I swear you'd better have learnt how to run faster since the last time I came here, because you are in deep shit!" he growled, rubbing a hand through the back of his hair, sending droplets flicking everywhere. I chuckled and looked over at Lisa, who was standing there with an empty glass in her hand.

"I was just trying to cool you off, you two looked a little hot and bothered," she offered.

He raised one eyebrow at her. "You are so in for it now, little sister."

She shook her head. "Maybe, but not right now, you see, you can't get off your boyfriend without calming down your little... friend. So, if I were to," she picked up another glass, smiling sweetly at him, "throw this at you, there would be nothing you could do about it."

"Don't even think about it, or I swear, blond crap in your hair or not, I'm flushing your head down the toilet," he warned.

She laughed mercilessly and jerked her hand towards us. I had barely enough time to cover my face before it hit us – but I needn't have worried because Jungkoom folded his body around mine and took the hit for me, hissing through his teeth as a couple of ice cubes slid down his back and plopped onto the sun lounger. Lisa ran off in the general direction of the house.

Jungkook sighed and shook his head, pulling back to look at me. "I hate my sisters."

Smiling seductively at him, I picked up the two ice cubes that had slid off his back. I ran them across my tongue before trailing them down his chest, watching them melt and leave a little wet trail against his skin. His eyes were locked on mine as I traced them further down, following the lines muscle on his stomach.

"She's right about one thing, your body does feel a little... hot," I purred, chewing on my lip.

Wordlessly, he brought his mouth back to mine, kissing me forcefully. Just as he nibbled on my lip, I shoved the two half-melted ice cubes down the front of his shorts. He squealed like a girl and jumped off me, doing a
comical dance, hopping from one foot to the other as he shoved his hand down the front of his shorts and hissed through his teeth. I burst out laughing watching it. Priceless.

He sighed with relief as he dropped them to the floor. "After I get back from punishing her, you're next," he warned.

I smiled. "What you gonna do? Spank me?" Actually, that sounds pretty good.

He laughed and leant over me again, not touching me, our mouths inches apart. "I bet you'd like that, huh?" he whispered. My head bobbed involuntarily, confirming his suspicions. His boyish smile returned. "You're a dirty, dirty boy, Kim Taehyung ," he whispered. His lips touched mine but I barely had time to react and kiss him back before he pulled away, running off towards the house. "I'll be right back!" he shouted over his shoulder as he sprinted in the direction that his sister headed.

I sighed dreamily as I flopped back onto the sun lounger and closed my eyes. The sun was beating down on me and there was a warm breeze coming off the ocean. It was like paradise. Han would love it here. I smiled when I heard playful screaming coming from the house behind me.

I could easily get used to this life.
