Ch - 24 One Step Closer

Jungkook's pov

I woke to the sound of Britney Spears' voice blasting near my ear. I winced and flinched away from the sound as Taehyung groaned loudly, shifting and pressing his face into the side of my neck. His hand blindly slapped onto his bedside cabinet, looking for something. I smiled, a little confused, then I realised he was reaching for his cell phone. I laughed as I noticed what the Britney song actually was, 'Womanizer' was blasting way too loud for this time of the morning.

Finally, he found it and pressed it to his ear without moving his face away from my neck. He didn't bother with any hellos. "This had better be important or I'm gonna kick your ass," he growled into the phone, his voice thick with sleep.

I laughed and wrapped my arms around him tighter, kissing the top of his head as I blinked, trying to get my stinging eyes to adjust to the light in the room.

"Heck yeah you woke me up! What time is it anyway?" he asked, then he groaned again. "Seojoon, I hardly ever get to sleep in, let alone sleep in with an incredibly hot guy, and you have to wake me up at seven thirty? Seriously, do you not know me at all?"

My muscles tightened unconsciously at the mention of Seojoon. I closed my eyes as he pushed himself away from me and sat up, rubbing a hand over his face.

"Yeah, he's here. Why so interested? I don't think he swings that way, but I'll ask him, if you want," he teased, laughing at Seojoon's response. Suddenly he frowned, looking a little shocked at whatever Seojoon'd said.

"What? No! I told you last night that I was busy today. No, I can't rearrange. Look, just call your mom back and tell her that her son's an idiot and was obviously too drunk to remember the agreement that we made last night. No, I said that I'd call her for coffee. Seojoon, you're supposed to be working today!" he scoffed at something he said.

"Well he's at Jimin's all day anyway so you can't. If you wanted to see him today then you should have told me last night and I could have arranged for him to be here for you! Oh, don't try and blame this on me. I wasn't the one that cancelled anything, remember?"

He was quiet for a bit, listening to him speak before he sighed and shrugged.

"Look, I don't care, okay? Let's just leave it for now. If you want him next weekend then that's fine with me. Just call me in the week and we'll arrange it. Okay, well just pick him up Saturday morning then instead of Friday night if you're working. Yeah, it's fine. No, he'd love to see you too, just don't cancel again, please?" he begged, closing his eyes and biting on his lip.

"I know you do, I just hate seeing his face when it happens. I know you have to work. Hold up, I never said it was your fault, I'm just telling you what he sees."

He looked at me apologetically, and I forced a smile, putting my hand on his knee, rubbing circles on his soft skin with my thumb. He spoke to him for another minute, then disconnected the call and pushed his phone back onto the side, his eyes looking at the clock before he shook his head angrily.

"I hate mornings," he mumbled, settling himself back down against me, resting his chin on my chest looking up at me with his beautiful brown eyes. "Sorry about that, I think he was still drunk. He was asking what time I was going to his mom's for dinner today with Han."

I stroked the back of his head. His hair was all messy and tangled – though it still managed to look incredible. "Maybe he was too drunk to remember that you told him you were busy with your new boy toy," I joked.

He smiled and dipped his head, kissing my chest lightly. "Boy toy, I actually like that almost as much as Taetae's bitch."

"Am I ever going to live that down?"

He shifted his body, swinging his leg over mine and hovering above me, his eyes were teasing and playful. "I don't think so; the image of that black writing is burnt into the back of my eyelids."

I rolled my eyes and pulled his mouth to mine, ending the conversation.

We spent the day just hanging out, talking and fooling around. We went for a walk in the park because I thought that might be romantic. As it turns out I was right, we ended up making out against a tree for ages, then sitting on a blanket and 'people watching'. Making up funny stories to fit what they were doing at the time, trying to outdo one another and make the other person laugh. I got the impression that Taehyung thought I was a funny guy, at one point he pretty much spat his drink out of his mouth when I made up the reason a man was wearing a trench coat when it clearly wasn't cold enough for one.

After eating lunch, we arrived at the Mins' apartment at just after two. As we stepped into the elevator, I smirked at him as I pretended to run my hand over the buttons. Just as we got near Yoongi's floor, my cell phone started ringing. I smiled apologetically and pulled it out of my pocket, already knowing it was my mother by the ringtone.

"Sorry, it's my mom," I muttered.

He smiled and patted my ass as the elevator doors opened. "Are you a secret momma's boy, Officer Jeon?"

I nodded unashamedly. "Sure I am. She does my laundry," I joked.

His eyebrows shot up. "Seriously? She does your laundry?"

I shrugged, playing along. "What can I say, I can't be good at everything."

"So, if I were to do your laundry..." he trailed off, looking at me expectantly.

I wrapped one arm around his waist, pulling him against my chest. "If you were to do it, then I'd get that Taetae's bitch slogan tattooed on my abs for real," I stated, pretending to be serious.

He laughed and traced his hand down my back and onto my ass as I walked him backwards towards Yoongi's apartment. The phone was still ringing endlessly in my hand. "I'd rather have it tattooed on your ass. It'd look pretty good there," he flirted, kissing the base of my throat.

I laughed and pushed him against the wall, kissing him softly before pulling away and nodding at Yoongi's door. "You go in, I'll just be one minute," I suggested, holding up the phone.

He grinned and knocked, Yoongi answered the door almost immediately, I waved in greeting and answered the phone. "Hey, Mom."

"Jungkookah, I was starting to get worried, you never let the phone ring for long. I was starting to think bad things had happened!" she scolded.

I smiled and leant back against the wall. "Sorry. I was making out with my man," I told him, grinning as he gasped and made a little aww sound.

"Kook, I can't wait to meet him! When are you going to bring him home and introduce him to everyone?" she asked, her voice taking on that whiney quality it always did when she wanted something really badly.

I laughed cautiously. "When the time's right, I will. It's still only been seven weeks." I shrugged; I didn't want to take him home yet – not that I was frightened of putting our relationship on that path. It was more like I was scared that he wasn't ready to go down that track; I didn't want to scare him away from me by coming on too strong.

"Seven weeks is plenty of time to know how you feel about someone!" my mom rebutted. "How do you feel about him? Is he, you know, the one?" she asked, her voice hopeful.

I sighed and closed my eyes. "Mom, I'm not having this conversation with you."

She sighed dramatically. "I'm not giving up! I want to meet him and his little boy. Ooh, why don't you bring him to the barbeque on Saturday for Hannah's birthday? You could bring him and Haneul to meet everyone, it'd be perfect! Oh, please, Kook? Please?" she begged. She'd been like this ever since I'd told her about Taehyung and Han. At one point this week she'd threatened to drive down to Seoul and knock on every door until she found him.

"Mom, will you stop pushing me? I don't want to scare him away!" I moaned, knowing she wasn't going to let this go.

"Don't be so silly, Jungkook. I'm sure he'd love to know that you're serious about him and want him to meet your family," Mom countered.

I sighed and rested my forehead against the wall. Dread was building with every second.

She clicked her tongue. "If you don't invite him here to meet us then I'm calling Yoongi, I know he'll give me his number and then I'll ask him myself!" she threatened. I groaned. She freaking would do that too, damn devil woman! "Kook, I want to meet the boy who has my son in a knot!" I could practically hear the pout in her voice, and I could easily imagine the face that accompanied that voice.

I sighed and nodded; it needed to be done sooner or later, I just prayed that this wasn't too soon for Rosie. "Okay, fine, I'll ask him. But if he is free then it'll only be Taehyung, not Han. He's with his dad next weekend. He's picking him up on Saturday morning," I told her, rolling my eyes. If that asshole keeps to the plan this time and doesn't cancel last minute!

She squealed in response, and I had to laugh at her enthusiasm, she was going to love my boyfriend when she met him, and Taehyung would have my family under his spell just as quickly as he hooked me.

"Oh, Kook, I can't wait! I'm so excited! Can't you ask his dad if he can have him another weekend instead so he can meet his new granny?" she pleaded.

"I can't do that, Mom. It's not really my place to start asking for plans to be changed around, know what I mean?"

She sighed. "Yeah, I understand, poppet."

"Right, if this meeting is happening then I need to set some ground rules," I stated. "One, do not call me 'Poppet' ever again. Two, no showing him naked baby pictures of me. Three, do not tell my man that I used to be scared of clowns. Four, just calm the heck down," I ranted, checking them off on my fingers as I said them, racking my brains to make sure I had everything.

She laughed. "Anything else?"

I frowned and closed my eyes. "I don't think so, but if I think of anything else then I'll text you beforehand. Just be on your best behaviour, promise?"

"I promise."

The door to the apartment opened and I saw a brown head of hair for a fraction of a second before something short bowled into my legs, almost knocking me over. I laughed and looked down at Han as he hugged my legs tightly.

"Uncle Kookie! Can we press the elevator buttons, then go get ice cream?" he cried, grinning at me excitedly.

I smiled and patted his head. "Sure, Kid, just let me finish speaking to my mom, okay?"

Taehyung came out into the hallway then, prying Han off my legs, kissing my cheek lightly as he took his hand. "Jimin said do you want a drink?"he whispered.

"Sure. I'll be right in," I replied, ushering him inside the apartment and closing the door, wincing as he looked at me a little bewildered. I put the phone back to my ear and closed my eyes. "I need to go, Mom. I'll speak to you later in the week."

"Okay, have a great week. Be careful at work."

"I always am. I'd better go, apparently Han wants ice cream. See you soon." I disconnected the call and let myself into the apartment, grinning as Han ran up to me and held his hand up for a high five. "Hey, Kid. Been good?" I looked up in time to see Taehyung shoot Jimin a look that I had no idea what it meant. It was like they were having a silent conversation.

Han nodded enthusiastically. "Yep. I sleeped all night and didn't wake up Sehun. I washed Uncle Yoongi's car with him this morning. I heated all of my dinner, and I even helped clean the dishes after!"

I grinned and ruffled his hair, looking at Yoongi. "Well that sounds like child labour to me. You should ask Uncle Yoongi if he's paying you for that," I suggested, winking at him.

Han raised his eyebrows and looked at Yoongi, who held his hands up innocently. "You wanted to help, no one forced you!" he protested.

I bent down to Han's level and looked at him, trying to keep my face deadly serious. "If you'd helped me wash my car and cleaned all my dishes, I would have paid you at least five bucks. I think Uncle Yoongi's a cheapskate."

Han frowned looking a little puzzled. "What's a cheapskate? Like a roller-skate?" He questioned. Suddenly, his face brightened, his eyes widened, and his mouth pulled up into a grin. "I want to go roller-skating! Can we, Momma?" he sang, looking at Taehyung excitedly.

Taehyung's mouth dropped open and he looked at me accusingly, as if I had suggested it or something. "Baby, I can't roller-skate, last time I tried that I almost broke my butt, you remember?"

Yoongi burst out laughing and nodded. "Oh that was too funny. We should definitely do that again. That was epic!" he stated.

"It wasn't that funny! I couldn't sit right for days," Taehyung scowled, pouting at Han playfully.

Han grabbed his hand, jumping up and down on the spot. "Can we, Momma? Pleeeeeeeease?" he whined, giving him the cute face that he seemed to be the master of.

Taehyung groaned and shook his head. "I'm not doing it again. Ask Daddy, he might take you next weekend."

Before I could even think about what I was about to say, the words burst from my mouth. "I'll take him."

Everyone stopped laughing and looked at me. Jimin and Yoongi looked shocked, Taehyung looked like he thought I was joking, and Han, well Han was looking at me like I'd just suggested that I buy a real live penguin of his own.

Taehyung opened his mouth and then closed it again, seeming a little lost for words. He looked at Jimin again, and they seemed to have that whole silent conversation again. I really wished I was privy to it, I'd love to know what went on in my man's pretty head.

Tae looked back at me, chewing on his lip. "Really?"

I nodded and shrugged, silently hoping he would say yes, because that meant that he trusted me with the most important thing in his life.

"Sure, we could go Friday, after I finish work," I suggested.

Han pumped the air hissing a 'yes' as he grinned. I looked at Taehyung, waiting for him to say something. Instead, he walked up to me quickly, gripped the front of my T-shirt and kissed me passionately.

"Eww!" Han cried.

I smiled and pulled back looking at Taehyung with mock horror. "Yeah, eww! cooties!" I wiped my mouth on the back of my hand and he burst out laughing, his eyes soft and tender as he looked at me. I smiled proudly that he was looking at me like that, I'd never really had anyone look at me like that before, the only way they looked at me was lustfully. I'd never had anyone just gaze at me like I was the only man on the planet. I actually loved that look.

I gripped my hand on the back of his head, tangling my fingers into his hair and pulling his mouth closer to mine again, my eyes locked on his. "So, that's a yes then?" I whispered, my mouth brushing against his.

His breath was blowing across my lips, making my mouth water and my whole body ache to pull him closer to me and never let him go. "If you really don't mind taking him," he answered, his voice a little weaker than normal.

I pecked his lips again, wanting nothing more than to press him against the nearest wall and kiss him until we both couldn't breathe. Well, that wasn't all I wanted to do to him up against a wall, but I tried not to let my mind wander to those things, it would only make things harder for me.

I pulled back and looked at Han; he was practically bouncing on the spot with excitement. "It's a date then, Kid. Friday night when I finish work, that alright with you?"

"Yes!" he shouted, making Sehun cry from the other room.

"Sorry." He winced and looked at Jimin.

He smiled and shook his head. "Don't worry about it. He was due to get up and say goodbye to his little playmate anyway."

"Can I get him?" I asked, already heading towards Sehun's room without waiting for an answer. I hadn't seen him much for the last couple of weeks, I'd been too busy trying to worm my way into Taehyung's heart and pants. I headed to his room and leant over the side of the crib. He was all snuggled up in his blankets, his eyes wide and looking up at me as I smiled down at him. He was such a cute baby; I really did love the kid.

"Hey, Sibu," I greeted, reaching out and picking him up.

I studied him closely. A couple of weeks ago his eyes had started to darken from the brown that all babies were born with. His eyes were now a light brown colour.

Someone cleared their throat behind me, so I turned to see Yoongi leaning in the doorway. "Want one?" he asked, nodding at Sehun, who was gripping the collar of my T-shirt, chewing on his other fist.

I laughed; I didn't really know the answer to that question any more. If he'd asked me that question seven weeks ago, before I'd met Taehyung, then I would have laughed in his face and made some stupid comment about being tied down and how I liked to play the field. But now that I had him, I couldn't help but wonder if a child of ours would have my light brown eyes, or his dark brown. I'd never really understood when Yoongi said that he wanted his baby to look exactly like Jimin, but now that I was with Tae I could understand it. He had the most beautiful chocolate brown eyes that would look great on a little baby.

"Only when they're clean," I answered, shrugging. That should answer the question and stop him asking things that I didn't know the answers to. I sat down on the little sofa they had in the room, settling Sehun on my lap. "Can I ask you something?"

Yoongi nodded and sat down next to me. "Sure, bud."

I frowned, not really knowing how to ask or how to phrase it. "Okay, well, are there like rules? I mean, is there like a book or something that I'm supposed to be studying that's gonna make this all easier for me?" I asked hopefully.

"What the hell are you going on about, Jeon?"

I blew out a big breath. "This dating thing is hard! How do I know what I'm supposed to be doing or saying to him? He made this really nice comment to me last night, and I just started talking about jacking off. I mean, what the hell is up with that?" I rolled my eyes at myself when I remembered the conversation we had in bed last night.

Yoongi laughed harder and sat back, looking at me like I was the funniest thing he'd seen in ages. "Jacking off?" he repeated between laughs.

I punched him in the arm. "Hyung, get your head out of your ass and give me some advice before I screw it up!"

He composed himself, a grin still stretched across his face though as he ran a hand through his hair. "Okay, rule number one, don't talk about jacking off," he said, laughing quietly. "Other than that, just be yourself and don't lead him on. If you're not feeling it, then break it off sooner rather than later. He doesn't deserve to be hurt, and neither does Han. They've had enough of that shit in their lives."

"I met his ex last night." I frowned at the thought of that douchebag.

Yoongi hissed a cuss word through his teeth, his jaw tight. "And what did you think of him?"

I smiled sarcastically. "He was lucky I didn't lose my fist down his throat," I muttered, closing my eyes and trying to stay calm and not think about him. "The fucker actually had the nerve to tell me that he was going to win him back. His exact words were 'game on'," I told him.

Yoongi snorted through his nose at my comment. "He always was a cocky, arrogant little shit. Man, I hate that guy! I have no idea what Tae saw in him in the first place."

"You and me both." I shifted Sehun on my lap, smiling as he took my hand pulling it to his mouth and chewing on my knuckle. "So, about this book." I raised one eyebrow, hoping there was a magical guy manual for how to win the heart of a fair maiden.

Yoongi smiled and patted me on the shoulder. "You don't need a book." He looked at me knowingly, so I raised one eyebrow, waiting for him to continue. He laughed. "I'm not going into it because I don't want to violate the husband and wife code, but I've heard some stuff."

I gasped. Stuff? I needed in on this stuff he'd heard. "Like what?"

He grinned. "Just talk. From the things I've been told, you don't need a book at all. Just keep doing your thing. The Jeon Jungkook charm seems to be working," he assured me, winking proudly.

"Oh yeah? Does he speak to Jimin about me a lot?" I asked, thinking about him gossiping about me to his best friend – just like I was now doing with Yoongi.

He laughed, holding his hands up in a halting gesture. "I'm not saying anything else. I was told that if I told you anything then I wouldn't be getting any for a week."

"Hyung, you're like a brother to me, you have to give me more than that! What sort of things does he like that I'm doing? Please?" I begged. If I knew what I was doing right then I'd be able to make sure I did that more!

He looked back at the door before scooting closer to me on the sofa. "If this gets back to them that I said anything, you and I are gonna have a problem," he warned.

I sighed dramatically. "As if Chim would be able to go without for a week."

"Not the point. I don't want to be caught gossiping like a freaking woman!" he protested. I gave him a sarcastic look, waiting for his pearls of wisdom advice. "Okay, fine. I've heard that he thinks you're funny, and hot, and very thoughtful. I can tell by looking at him just now that he loves the way you interact with Han, so that's a major plus. Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll be fine."

I breathed a sigh of relief. That would be pretty easy to keep doing because none of that was an act. I was just being myself, and Han was a great kid, so I didn't mind spending time with him at all. "Thanks, Hyung," I muttered, relaxing now.

He stood up and started walking towards the door. "Oh, and the restraining him on the sofa, accompanied by your filthy pillow talk, he liked that too." He chuckled and practically ran out of the room before I could answer.

Taehyung had told Jimin about that? I was more than a little proud of myself about that for some reason.

I chuckled and walked out into the lounge with Sehun, unable to resist smirking at Taehyung and trailing my hand across his ass when no one was looking. We stayed for another half an hour or so. I watched Tae cuddling up to Sehun, I watched how soft his eyes were as he looked at Sehun. I must admit, he looked hot holding a baby! We spoke about the christening for a while too; it was arranged for three weeks' time because they had to do it around Jimin's father's schedule.

On the way back to Taehyung's place, we stopped and got ice cream. I sat in the booth, completely happy just to watch my man and his son, laughing and joking around.

By the time we got back it was Han's bed time so I settled on the sofa and waited. He came back and snuggled next to me, putting his legs over mine as he found a show on TV to watch.

I couldn't concentrate on the movie, all I could think about was that I needed to broach the subject of him meeting my family. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, wondering where to start.

"Um, Tae?"

He snuggled into me more. "Mmm?"

"I, er... so, you know I spoke to my mom today. She, er..." Wow, stop stuttering and spit it out! "She told me about this barbeque that she's having at the weekend, in aid of my sister's birthday next week. I was wondering if, well, I was wondering if maybe you'd like to go?" I winced, waiting for his reaction.

He stiffened and pulled out of my arms, his eyebrows knitting together. He chewed on his bottom lip, his whole posture stiff and nervous. "Like meet your family, you mean?" he clarified, his voice a little weaker than normal. I nodded in answer. A smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. "You want me to come with you? That's a big step."

I wrapped my arms around him and pulled heim onto my lap. "A big step? Like meeting a son, perhaps? Think maybe I took a bigger step already?" I countered, cocking my head to the side, studying his reactions.

He took a deep breath and let it out slowly as he nodded. "Yeah, I guess you're right there. Okay, sure, I'd love to meet your parents and the girls who got one up on Jeon Jungkook."

I grinned happily, ignoring the comment about my sisters. My mom was going to pitch a fit when I told her. "And if Seojoon cancels this weekend, then my mom insisted that we bring Han too," I said, playing down my mom's enthusiasm a bit.

Taehyung recoiled. "Well let's just hope that Seojoon doesn't cancel this time then. I mean, surely your parents are a little apprehensive about you dating a guy with a child. I think it'd be best if they just got used to the idea a little before I throw my four-year-old into their faces."

I smiled, unsure how I could phrase my reply without telling him that my mom was already bragging about his grandson down at the bowls club.

"Stripes, my parents don't mind in the slightest. They want to meet him actually." Wow, understatement of the century!

A nervous smile twitched at the corner of his mouth. "Really?"

"Really," I confirmed. "If Seojoon cancels then we'll take him with us. He'd love it there. We could play on the beach, and they have a pool. I'm pretty sure my mom will buy every flavour of ice cream available." I tried to come across as joking, but I could already imagine my mom running around the house now, shouting at everyone to get the house ready for a child. She'd be barking orders of 'Dad, go to the store and buy your own weight in candy' and 'Aeri, go buy the contents of babies toystore so that he has something to play with' she'd be going way overboard. It was going to be a train wreck.

"Okay. What time?" he asked, wrapping his arms around my neck, pressing his chest against mine.

I shrugged. "I don't know. You said Seojoon was coming for Han at about ten, so why don't I just come over before that, and then when he comes and picks up Han then we can leave for the beach," I suggested casually, subtly worming my way in and making sure I was here when that jackass was here so he couldn't hit on my man.

He pursed his lips thoughtfully. "I'll be seeing you anyway Friday night, right?" he asked, combing his fingers through the back of my hair.

I nodded in confirmation. "Yep, I have a date with a four-year-old and a roller-skate rink."

He looked at me, giving me that 'you're so freaking sweet' smile again. "So, it seems silly for you to be here Friday night, then go home, only to come back a few hours later. If you want to, you can stay over," he suggested quietly, chewing on his lip.

Stay over? That meant Han would be here too. That would be the first time I'd stayed over with him in the apartment. Wow, one small step for man...

"That wouldn't be a problem?"

He shrugged. "I'm pretty sure Han would be okay with you staying here. I'll talk to him before and check though, if that's alright?"

I brushed my hand down the side of his face. "If he doesn't want me to stay yet then that's fine, Tae," I promised, kissing the tip of his nose.

He sighed and snuggled against me. "You really are one of the nicest guys I've ever met," he whispered, pressing his face into the side of my neck, nuzzling against my skin softly.

Hmm, time to push him a little further.

"Want to stay at my parents' house Saturday night? We could hang out on the beach, swim a little, have a drink?" I suggested, screwing my eyes up, waiting for his reaction. I was grateful that he still had his face pressed against my neck so I couldn't see his expression.

"Two days in a row sleeping with an officer, however will I cope?" he teased, pulling back putting the back of his hand to his forehead, feigning a swoon.

"Don't worry, Stripes. I know first aid if it all gets too much for you," I joked. "We don't have to if you don't want to."

"I don't mind staying at your parents' house, as long as they don't mind. I mean, are you sure they're alright with me and you, you know, because of Han?" he checked.

I nodded and smiled reassuringly. "Stripes, my family are going to love both you and Han."

He sighed and looked at me as if I was Superman again. "Okay," he agreed, pulling my mouth down to his again.

My week at work was a hard one. I was called on every day to go out with my team. Three times I had shot my rifle, once it ended up with a body bag.

I was physically exhausted and was literally getting home from work, eating and talking to my man before falling into bed, asleep as soon as my head touched the pillow.

By the time Friday came around all I wanted to do was sleep forever, but I couldn't do that because I'd agreed to take Han skating. My head was pounding, my body felt like jelly, and my eyes were stinging from the mountain of paperwork I had to fill in today because one of my team was wounded.

After packing up a little weekend bag and swallowing a couple of pills for my headache, I headed to Taehyung's apartment where I would be sleeping tonight. By the time I pulled up at his place, I couldn't even be bothered to get out of the car. If I'd had plans with anyone else tonight I would have cancelled, but I couldn't do that to Han. I refused to be like his jackass of a father.

As I pushed myself up the stairs of his apartment building, my legs feeling like ton weights. I took a couple of deep breaths before I knocked on the door and plastered on a fake smile. Han answered the door, grinning happily, and I felt my mood pick up instantly. Sure, I was still exhausted, sure, I could do with going to bed and sleeping until Monday morning, but his excitement made everything worth it.

"Han, you're not supposed to open the door, you know that!" Tae scolded, pulling the door open a little further and looking at me apologetically.

"But I knowed it was Uncle Kook, Momma!" he whined.

I smiled and looked my boyfriend over; he was wearing black skinny jeans, a black tank top and a loose fitted shirt over the top, his hair in messy waves. He was the image of perfection in my eyes.

He looked up at me and frowned. "Kook, you feeling okay?"

I nodded and smiled, trying to fake that everything was fine. "Sure, just excited to go skating." I looked down at Han. "You still want to go, right?"

He nodded and squealed, making my ears ring a little because of the headache, and I prayed the pills would kick in soon. "Are we going now?" he asked, clapping his hands excitedly.

I shrugged and looked at Tae. "Sure, if Momma says it's alright."

Taehyung was studying me intently, a puzzled frown on her face. "Baby, go get your shoes on," he ordered, not taking his eyes from me. Han immediately ran off, and he stepped closer to me. "Are you okay? Did you... have a bad day?" he asked, taking my hand and squeezing reassuringly.

I sighed and pulled him closer to me, putting my forehead to his and closing my eyes.

"I'm just tired," I whispered, pressing my lips against his, kissing him softly, relishing the feel of his lips against mine. I'd missed this, I hadn't seen him all week because I had to work. I'd been on a twelve-hour early shift, so I just hadn't had the time to see him. I didn't realise how much I would miss his smell, the feel of him pressed against me, his warmth. I'd missed everything about him. I'd also missed Han and the way he said things wrong all the time. I really was in deep trouble with these two. But the thing was, if this was what being in trouble felt like, then I didn't ever want to be out of it.

He pulled away from me, shaking his head. "If you're tired then don't go skating. We'll get a DVD or something, have a movie night instead," he suggested, looking at me sympathetically, stroking my face.

I smiled and kissed him again. "I want to go," I protested, looking at him sternly so he knew that I was serious. There was no way I was disappointing the kid by flaking out of the first thing I'd arranged for us to do. "You coming to watch?" I asked, trying to change the subject and stop him fretting over me.

He smiled. "Am I allowed? Won't that ruin the macho image I have of you, when I see you fall on your butt?"

I puffed out my chest and narrowed my eyes. "I used to be junior skating champion. I won a trophy and everything. I'm not falling on my ass tonight. You don't forget how to skate, it's just like riding a bike, you never forget," I bragged.

"Junior skating? That was ages ago. You do know that you're a little old now though, I mean, if you fall you might break a hip," he laughed as I poked him in the ribs.

"Less of the old! I'm only twenty-five!" I countered, shocked and slightly offended.

He nodded. "Yep, quarter of a century! Like I said... old," he mused, sticking out his tongue and jumping away from me when I lunged for him, dropping my overnight bag onto the floor.

I grabbed him and threw him over my shoulder, slapping his ass hard enough to make him squeal and giggle. "That's it, you're coming with us so I can show off my mad skills on wheels," I insisted. Han came skipping back into the room, laughing as he looked at the pair of us. "Ready, Kid?" I asked. I barely even noticed that my headache had started to go.

As it turned out, apparently you do forget how to skate.

I groaned as I moved on the sofa, making my butt and back hurt from the small movement. Taehyung giggled behind his hand, looking anywhere but at me. I sighed deeply. "Can we stop with the laughter now? Seriously, it's bruising my ego, and I really think I'm bruised enough already." I pouted, rolling my eyes as he snorted with laughter then chewed on his lip, looking at me with amused eyes.

"I'm sorry; I just can't get the image out of my head. I mean, when you grabbed that old guy and pulled him down with you too..." he trailed off, bursting into another fit of giggles.

I cracked a smile, thinking of the guy shouting at me as I dragged him down to the floor with me and Han. It was pretty funny. "Whatever, Stripes. Next time you come with us then and show us how it's done, little mister stand-on-the-sidelines-and-shout-instructions," I teased, flicking his nose.

He grinned and settled against me, his laughter dying out as he looked at me tenderly. "Thank you," he whispered, looking contentedly at me.

"For what?"

He sighed and shook his head. "You don't even realise what you're doing, do you?" he asked, his eyes locked on mine. I had no idea what he was talking about. What was I doing? "Kook, you were so tired from work, and yet you still took my son skating. That was just... adorable." He smiled as he traced his hands around my neck, gripping them tightly into the back of my hair. "Want to go to bed?"

I felt my balls tighten instantly at the word bed, it was like one of those reactions from Pavlov's dogs. They salivated at the sound of a bell, my dick hardened at the word bed. Maybe I really was a sex pest and had just never realised.

I smiled, pulling him closer to me. "Sure, I'll go to bed with you, but no naughtiness with a kid in the apartment," I joked, pushing myself up from the sofa, lifting him with me, making him gasp and wrap his legs around my waist.

"What the," he recoiled, "you can't be serious. Kook, he's always gonna be here, does that mean you don't ever want to-" I cut him off by kissing him. There was no way I was sticking to that rule, he lived here, we'd have to find a way around it, we'd just be quiet or something. He laughed and broke the kiss. "Thank goodness for that, I thought you were serious."

I smiled. "I was kidding. But, to be honest, I don't think I'll be up for much more than making out tonight. My ass hurts. That old guy was freaking heavy when he landed on me," I joked.

He snickered again as I carried him into the bedroom, eager to get into my side of his bed again, I'd been fantasizing about it all week.
