(Please note some characters are OOC / Out of Character cause I'm not trying to make this 100% canon but I'd like to make it to where people actually would want to read it.)
I know this is meant to be a dreamberry fanfiction, but like i said in the description there might be more ships.
So we're starting with Inkmare for this chapter >:D
Also, Full Italic represents Ink's thoughts.
Please Note, Ink thinks of Dream and Blue as family. If you ship it I don't judge but in this he only thinks of them as family.
Real Inkmare fluff will most likely be in the next chapter rather than this one qwq

》 Ink's P.O.V 《
As much as I didn't want to do this
I knew I would have to at some point.
I'd do anything for Blue and Dream, but this is more than just helping my friend out. I'm sure Nightmare's been planning something, why wouldn't he be? Though, If anything, Error does help us get information due to him not fully working for Nightmare. Then again, he does the same for the Bad Sanses either way.. Why does this have to be so complicated?
》 End of P.O.V 《

Ink begins looking for Nightmare upon entering the Bad Sanses' base, or "Castle" as Night calls it.

' Error should be here, I could ask him where Nightmare is. '

~ ☆ Timeskip to when Ink Finds Error because I can't do transitions ☆ ~

"Nightmare should be in his office still, he hasn't left the castle at all. Today at least," Error explains before Ink even had a chance to ask.

(I) "How'd you know I was going to ask about Nightmare?"

"Ink, you're an idiot. How do you think I get my information for you and Nightmare every day?"

(I) "So basically, you're a professional creep?" Ink says in a slightly awkward tone.

"Yeah, pretty much. Wait-"

(I) "And to think you called me an idiot,"
Ink replies, trying not to laugh at his frenemy's stupidity.

"SHUT UP ALREADY YOU STUPID SQUID-"
Error shouts, his face blue from embarrassment.

They didn't realize Nightmare heard them shouting and finally noticed him a few minutes after their conversation.

(I) "Apologies for the Noise, Nightmare."
Ink says, noticing his entry, while Error goes back to his room.

(NM) Sure. Why the hell are you here?"

(I) "It's about Dream."

(NM) "Why would I care?"

(I) He's your brother, Nightmare. What the hell is wrong with you?"

(NM) "Funny. You ignore them every day and only care about yourself yet only when something happens you care about others?"

Ink was speechless. Nightmare wasn't wrong. But he also wasn't right.
Ink just wanted to protect them, that's why he never got close to them. He was afraid he'd lose them like he lost Gin.

(I) "I have my reasons. Those reasons are none of your business. I ignore them because I have to. It's better for everyone when I do. You know, you can't expect me to care about them when I'm afraid to lose them. Just because I'm soulless doesn't mean i'm incapable of caring about others. You wouldn't understand that though, would you? Just because Dream didn't know about you being bullied doesn't make it his fault. In reality, it's your fault. You could have told him."

(NM) "...Our past is not your concern, Ink."

(I) "Apparently your brother isn't something you're concerned about either. If you want to make things right, meet me and Blueberry here in an hour. We'll let you talk to Dream. Though, if you decide not to help him and make things worse, It'll be the last time you'll have to worry about seeing him," Ink replies with a hostile tone.

(NM) "...Fine. What's wrong with him?"

(I) "He's been having trouble sleeping due to the incident you caused and he won't stop blaming himself for not noticing what was going on sooner. I advise of you not to be a bitch about this when you talk to him, his mental health has already went down enough." Ink snaps at Nightmare, still angered from what he had said earlier.

(NM) "...I'm sorry." Nightmare replies in a low voice, but still loud enough for Ink to hear.

(I) "If Dream accepts your apology, I will too. If you decide to come, See you then.
Goodbye for now, Nightmare."

(NM) "Thank you, Ink."

(I) "It's the least I could do," Ink says before he teleports back to the Star's base.

~ Back at the base, with Ink ~

(D) "Welcome back, Ink," Dream says.

(I) "Thank you," Ink replies.
He looks around for a moment and notices Blue is nowhere to be seen.

(I) "Do you have any idea where Blueberry might be?"

(D) "Last time I saw him he was cleaning your room."

(I) "Thanks. I appreciate it, Dream."

(D) "Of course." Dream says as he takes a book from the bookshelf and starts to read it.

Ink, walking into his room, noticed it was a lot more organized and that Blue was still putting together a scrapbook for Ink with photos he had found scattered in the room.

(I) "Blue?"

(B) "Welcome home, Ink! You were gone for a bit, did something happen?"

~ After Ink explains what he and Nightmare had discussed ~

(B) "So, we need to meet him back at the Castle in an hour?"

(I) "Yep. We should probably come prepared just incase he tries sneaking an attack. It's doubtful he will, but it's better to plan ahead."

(B) "Great idea. Also, Ink?"

(I) "Yes, Blue?"

(B) "I was putting a scrapbook of photos I found while cleaning and I was wondering, who is the skeleton you were with in most of them?"

(I) "Well.."
Ink pauses for a moment and walks over to his closet. He opens the closet doors and grabs a white mask.

(I) "He was a good friend of mine until something happened to him. This mask was actually his."

(B) "That explains why you hate people touching it."

(I) "Yeah, but let's not worry about that now. We need to focus on helping Dream."

~ At Nootmare's Castle, 4 P.M [ when they planned to meet ] ~

Horror, Killer, and Error were in the room when Ink and Blueberry had arrived.

(H) "The Hell?"

(K) "I don't remember Stars being allowed in our base."

(I) "And I don't remember you being such a bastard."

(B) "Ink, that's rude."

(I) "That was the point, Berry."

Nightmare enters the room.

(I) "I see you've decided?"

(NM) "Yes, I have. I'll talk to him."

(B) "Thank you, Nightmare. We were starting to get really worried about him."

(I) Agreed. Please try your best to help him with his nightmares, don't be a bitch about it."

(NM) "You know, you don't have to be so damn rude about it."

(I) "And you didn't have to trap Dream in stone for over 500 years."

Error, Killer, Horror, and Blueberry sitting there in awkward silence
"  *all breathes air*   "

(NM) "For fucks sakes just take me to him already."

(I) "Alright, Alright. You don't have to be like that."

(NM) " b i t c h , w h a t ? "
