The siblings and Leo

A soft smile started playing on Kyra's face as the wind hit her face gently. Caspian, who was standing beside her, took the sword from her and went over to where Ayren was standing.

"You sure, brother? I ain't in the mood for being gentle," Ayren spoke, lifting his sword.

Kyra shook her head and went over to where Hayes, Zeid and Rose were sitting. Rose chuckled when she saw Ayren and Cas fight.

"Don't you want to fight?" Kyra asked Hayes. Hayes shook his head and put on his shades.

"Rude." Kyra took her seat beside Zeid.

"I want to hold him," Kyra said, looking at Leo who was sitting in Zeid's lap.

"No," Zeid replied.

"Why?"

"You stink of sweat. Leo doesn't like it." Kyra rolled her eyes.

"Zeid, we all stink and Leo is a werewolf too."

"He is a baby for now." Before Zeid and Kyra started their usual bickering, Rose interfered.

"Kyra, why don't you come with me? I will show you the clothes I bought in Paris," Rose said.

"I'm excited about showing you everything. I even bought new bags."

"Really? Then let's go. We don't have to sit over here," Kyra said, standing up.

"Yup." Rose looked at Zeid. "Do you want me to take Leo with me?"

"I will hold him, you two go and have some time alone," Zeid replied. Rose nodded her head. She patted Leo's head before leaving with Kyra.

Zeid pulled Leo's hand out from his mouth. Leonardo is 15 months old and is a curious kid. "No..." Zeid spoke gently when Leo tried to keep his hand in his mouth.

Kyra stopped walking when she felt someone looking at her from the east direction. She looked around and tried to find any smell but she wasn't able to smell anything.

"What happened? Why aren't you coming?" Rose questioned when she saw Kyra stopping abruptly.

Rose watched as Kyra kept looking in the east direction. "Did you see something?"

Rose looked in the direction Kyra was looking. "You felt something?"

"No, I just thought someone was over there."

"Should we inform dad and others?"

Kyra looked at Rose. "What? No? It must be someone from the kitchen. Mum hired new staff."

"Oh, you sure? If you feel something, we should tell others," Rose said.

"No― It's fine." Kyra licked her lips, pushing her hair back. "Come, on. I need to see the new collection and I need to take two or three dresses from the collection." Kyra winked at the end.

Rose chuckled, nodding her head. "It's Zeid's selection and I don't think you like his selection."

"He isn't bad." Rose and Kyra start walking into the palace while the men are back in the woods.

"I know right." They both chuckled when entering the back door. The palace had been renovated to their liking and Kyra was the one who suggested most of the changes.

Ayren places the books before Zeid and takes his seat. Zeid places his hand on the books and reads the title.

"Have you been reading them?"

"Yeah, you got a good collection," Ayren said. Zeid nodded his head.

"How are things at the new checkpoint?" Zeid asked.

"It is a bit tiring knowing the check post is near the human villages. The police have been wandering around and there are forest officials who have been coming over to the office."

"We have submitted the documents, right?" Ayren looked at Zeid. He nodded his head.

"We have, but they do not want to have another supermarket in the village."

"Why?" Zeid shifted in his seat and focused his attention on Ayren.

"I don't know, the main supermarket belongs to the head of the village and."

Hayes looked at Ayren. "And?"

"And he doesn't like us. I have a feeling that he might know something— about us."

Zeid was quiet as Caspian walked in with Hayes behind him. Hayes had heard about this and decided not to get involved. He took a turn and went over to the other side of the library.

"That is impossible, brother. They don't know anything about us. Bhairav and Rudra have put on another spill, erasing the doubts ... questions," Caspian said.

"There might be a slight chance of them having a doubt. Even if they don't know about us, they have questions about us. They want to know where we live and about our family," Ayren said.

"It is natural for them to query about us. We are planning to open a mart in the town, which has a population of less than 2000. They haven't seen us living in the nearby villages," Zeid explained.

"They would be cautious and might be thinking from the business side of view," Zeid said.

Ayren clicked his tongue and signed. "Dad and mum are thinking of a change. The checkpoint is much needed as the kids from the territory and pack are going aboard for higher education. To keep a check on this, there should be a pack check post."

"Yes, there will be a way out. I'm sure Aldrick and Abigail would come up with a plan," Zeid said.

"Yeah, I have suggested getting help from Knox," Ayren said.

"Knox?"

"Yes, he had shifted to the Siolim years back because of their hospital. He is a part of the pack but lives in the village with his family. It would be easy if we took his name as the village head knows Knox and Knox's family," Caspian explained.

Hayes silently listened to everything. He was unsure about the new people he had seen in the morning. There was something about them that didn't feel right to him.

Zeid thought about it. "But I don't think they would allow Knox to open a mart in Siolim when they have marts and hospitals in Siolim," Caspian said.

"Knox has marts in Siolim?" Zeid asked. Leo is sleeping peacefully in his arms.

"He owns almost half of the big buildings in Siolim. Siolim is a kind of municipality which has everything, including the Siolim mall. Knox Wilson owns them. He is loaded," Caspian said.

"Yes, Wilsons have their properties in Siolim. Which was the main reason behind leaving the pack."

"Didn't the Royal Board oppose the idea of leaving the pack?" Zeid asked.

"Maybe they did, but dad said it was for the best if the Wilsons lived in Siolim. It would be helpful to everyone and if something broke out on human land, the Wilsons would be alerting the pack office," Ayren said.

"They have helped the pack and the board many times. Knox and Aiyna are also close friends with the family. Though we aren't close to their kids, they do attend all the functions and parties that happen in the palace."

"Aiyna is Allen uncle's sister. You have seen them on a few occasions. You might not remember," Caspian said to Zeid.

"I may recognise them if I see them," Zeid replied.

"I heard from Rose that you are planning to go to Canada?" Zeid asked Caspian.

"Haven't decided on anything yet. Kyra is planning to study aboard and they are asking me to go with her." Caspian drank his juice. "I don't have any problem, but staying aboard for two years isn't a good idea for me."

Zeid nodded his head in understatement. "When are Rose and you planning to shift back to Svarg palace?"

"Haven't discussed it. Rose is planning to open her gallery and it would be best if we lived in Paris for a few more months," Zeid said.

Ayren leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes. He has been restless at night as his sleep is disturbed because of the dreams.

When he felt his eyes getting heavy, he stood up from his seat. "I will have a nap."

"Sure," Caspian said. Zeid nodded his head. Ayren smiled at them before leaving the palace. Hayes followed soon after and Zeid noted the hesitation and unusualness of Hayes.
