instead of sitting on the beach
and taking pretty pictures with my friends
im sunbathing on an old trampoline
with a chemistry book over my head
listening to the chickens pluck the
grass beneath me
it's a sad sight but it's what is mine
and hopefully in the end
it'll pay off
all these stolen rays of sunshine
will maybe amount to something
i just have to overcome
the envy raging through my veins
