i went outside today

and i see that the world

has died a little bit with me

the earth is brown 

and the sky is 

a blue-ish gray

the colors of my bruises

after i fell off the cliff

and i curl my knees 

into my chest

and say my goodbyes 

to people who won't see me

for the next six months

and i remind myself

that this is the time of the year

for endings

and new beginnings

the earth is dying

the world is dying

so it can be reborn again
