so they put my choices

on the line

and put an arrow to my head

telling me to choose my fate.

there's one option

that promises security and riches

along with a lifetime 

behind a desk

and a sadness

that never seems to uplift

and the other

is risky

the other

offers excitement

and pain

and long hours

and learning

and gore

and glory

but only to a fraction

of those who dare

to pick it up

and leaves the rest

penniless

so do i choose the easy way out

or the one that will light a fire in me?
